We’re eagerly awaiting the next huge rugby event, set to take place in 2023 in one of our favourite destinations: France

As the sporting world casts its attention on our neighbours across the channel, iconic stadiums around France will be transformed into an exciting plethora of rugby fans who have travelled far and wide to see their favourite teams play.     

The countdown is on: many have already secured their tickets and started making their travel arrangements, including deciding where to stay during the 2023 games.        

Here at Oliver’s Travels, we’ve worked closely with our property owners in France to secure some fabulous villas and chateaux to make your special trip even more memorable. What you need to know

  • Games will take place between 8th September to 28th October 2023.
  • England is in Pool D, alongside Japan, Argentina, and Samoa. Scotland is in Pool B, with South Africa and Ireland. Wales is in Pool C, alongside Australia and Fiji. Pool A includes France, Italy and New Zealand.
  • The quarter-finals will take place in Marseille and Saint-Denis, while the semi-finals and final will be played in Stade de France, Saint-Denis.
  • A huge 2.6 million tickets will be sold for the event, covering 48 matches across 10 cities, worth around £350million.

Travel by train to the matches this year, taking an eco-friendly alternative to flying: the Eurostar. Many of our villas can easily be reached by rail. Go from London to Paris and change in the capital for a regional connection to your holiday destination.
