What you should know…

  • If you are heading into Chania for dinner, it is best to pre-book a dinner table though there are also plenty of walk-ins
  • If you have more than twelve guests, you are welcome to use the sofas in the living room as extra sleeping spaces

Villa Gypsum is situated in the tranquil village of Alikianos, located 12km from the Old Town of Chania and 9km from the nearest beach. How to reach Chania

There are two ways to reach Chania: either by flight or by ferry.

By plane:
Chania Airport (CHQ) is only a 20 minutes ride away from central Chania. During the summer months, frequents overseas and domestic flights are performed. In most of the cases, there are available buses that connect Chania city and most of the villas. You can also hire a car from one of the many rental companies at the airport, or alternatively get a taxi to bring you right to your doorstep.

By ferry:
If you choose to do an island-hopping trip and use the ferry as a method of transportation, then the closest port is in Souda, only 8km from the centre of Chania. Only ferries from Piraeus in Athens or Heraklion in Crete. Heraklion port has a wider choice: you can also take a ferry from other Greek islands like Santorini, Mykonos or Paros, but you will have to take a longer bus ride to reach your villa. Pool heating charge? The swimming pool can be heated at an extra cost of 75€ per day upon request by a Pool Heat Pump at about 26 - 27°C depending on weather conditions. We request three days advance notice for this facility.
Insurance Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for cancellations, loss of personal belongings, personal liability and any accidental damage caused during their stay.

The Greek government requires owners to collect a Tourist Climate Tax, your property manager will collect this in cash:

    Everything is absolutely amazing. From the wonderful welcome of the staff to the location and the facilities.

    It’s located close enough to Chania that we regularly visited for dinner. But closer by there is some lovely taverns that are worth visiting. The house itself is in a very quiet neighbourhood, very peaceful.

    We appreciated all the service, the house was lacking nothing. Plenty of toiletries, garbage bags, laundry detergent and cooking supplies, we wanted for nothing. We stayed for a week and they cleaned the whole house and changed our sheets and towels which was much appreciated.

    We booked a boat trip through the staff and made use of all their tips regarding what to see and do in the area which was very helpful.
