Casa Ramonila is a traditional, rustic villa located in the wonderful countryside, 4km from the very pretty town of Muro and a 15-minute drive to the beach resort of Can Picafort. The villa is very spacious with 5 bedrooms, so sleeps up to 10 guests. Casa Ramonila enjoys fabulous, far-reaching views and a marvellous garden with beautiful lawns. 


The picturesque Muro is a traditional rural village dating back to 1232 with the Christian conquest. Moneylenders were allowed to live in Muro as a token of gratitude for helping to finance the war effort, so it was a town of wealth and privilege. The sandstone buildings are very attractive, and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants as well as a weekly farmers market. 


Once you enter the large wrought iron gates, you will feel so secluded and peaceful at Casa Ramonila. The outside space is very open with the villa in one corner of the plot. The swimming pool is set in the beautiful lawns surrounded by sun loungers. Close by is a large barbecue and the pool bar. You can always pre-order some beer and wine so that it is cold and ready for your arrival! There are several seating areas, a shady, cobbled courtyard and a covered alfresco dining area. 


The open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is rustic with a log burner, comfy corner sofa and access to the covered terrace. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and a stand-alone bath in the bedroom. It is raised on a platform so that you can laze in the bath and admire the lovely views of the garden. There is direct access to one of the villa’s terraces. There are four further bedrooms, all with double beds and beamed ceilings. One has an ensuite bathroom with impaired mobility aids. In total there are 4 bathrooms in this villa.

Casa Ramonila is situated in the lovely countryside just outside Muro. The village administrates the beach resort of Playa de Muro. Muro’s Museo Etnlogico de Muro features displays of traditional, rural life in Mallorca during different periods in history. The lively Sunday farmers market is a good time to visit the village and enjoy the local life. There is an active bull ring which was built in 1910 from locally quarried stone. 


Playa de Muro is a short drive away. It is a beautiful, family-friendly, Blue Flag beach with 4  sections that cover nearly 4km. The white glistening sand, dunes and exceptionally shallow turquoise water make it perfect for young children. Behind part of the beach is the fabulous S’Albufera Natural Park, the Balearic’s largest and most important marshland. You will find a huge variety of flora and fauna, lagoons and wild streams and signposted cycling and hiking paths. It is a great place for birdwatching.  


You will find plenty of entertainment and organised sport in Can Picafort. The long promenade is fun for walkers, cyclists and rollerbladers. You will find go-karting, pedal boats and fun inflatable rides. In the summer months, there are a lot of market stalls offering clothing and souvenirs. The nightlife in Can Picafort is not comparable to the wild nightlife in Playa de Palma, S’Arenal and Magaluf but it does have its charm. 


There are many bars and a handful of clubs as well as many restaurants. The Finca son Real is a beautiful and traditional finca open to tourists just outside Can Picafort. It is a great opportunity to explore the traditional agriculture of Mallorca. The gardens are very attractive, and there are hiking, riding and cycling trails. Motorsport enthusiasts might enjoy the car racecourse just outside of the town. There is a large selection of karts with suitable karts for children. 


The excellent Bodega Butxet vineyard, on the way to Can Picafort, is definitely worth a stop. The Merlot, Cabernet and Syrah wines are delicious.

THE REGION

Sa Pobla is a small municipality with around 12,000 inhabitants, which is situated in the centre of Mallorca, between Inca and Alcúdia. Sa Pobla is known for its agriculture and the humble potato, in particular, gets a lot of attention here as it is exported to many countries and a festival is even held in its honour each year.

The town of Sa Pobla is partly on the Albufera nature reserve (Parc natural de s'Albufera de Mallorca), a protected wetland area. The nature reserve is particularly good for bird watching as well as hikes and walks.

Casa Ramonila is ideal for families. There is such a big garden and a lovely pool, so there is plenty of space for family fun. Close by; the beaches are also great fun. Playa de Muro, Can Picafort and Son Serra de Marina all have fabulous sandy beaches, calm, shallow water and many watersports on offer. You can even arrange to horse ride on Can Picafort beach. You can also ride on the mountain under the guidance of a Ranxo Ses Roques instructor. 


Trails can be for one or two hours. If you want to try some bitless riding, Hipica Formentor offers this in Sa Pobla. Small groups are taken for treks on sandy tracks and quiet roads. If you are really keen on horses, Rancho Grande Park is a large ranch in the north of the island where you can take a two-hour horseback ride through the pine forest to the unspoiled beach of Son Serra de Marina.  They also have a playground, bouncy castle, a soccer field and a mechanical bull. 


Behind Playa de Muro you will find the fabulous Parc Natural de S’Albufera. Children will love to ride bikes or take birdwatching expeditions. 303 species of birds have been recorded, 64 of which breed within the park’s boundaries. Entrance to the park is free, but permits must be obtained from the visitor centre. 


If you have any thrill-seekers with you and want a change from the beach, you could visit La Reserva Galatzo in the Tramuntana mountains near Puigpunyent. The scenery on the drive is fantastic. You will see a variety of wildlife including goats, ostriches, emus, deers, wild donkeys and peacocks. The adventure park has rock climbing walls, swinging bridges, the longest zip wire on Mallorca and canyons to slide down. There is a bird of prey displays twice daily. There are well-marked hiking paths and a barbecue area.

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit €300 charged to client’s credit card to the property manager on arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection. Please ensure you provide a debit or credit card so that this amount can be held for the duration of your stay.

End of stay cleaning included? Yes, included in the rental price. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or garbage disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Linen & towels included? Bed linen and bath towels are included in the rental price. Please bring your own pool towels.
Energy costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Internet access? Wi-Fi internet access included in rental price.

Changeover day Saturday.

Tax Balearic Eco Tourist Tax of €2.20 per person per night for over 16's is not included in the rental price and will need to be paid on arrival in chash direct to the supplier.
Insurance Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for cancellations, personal belongings, public liability and any accidental damage caused during their stay.
Other Ts and Cs As per the owners request, please make sure to remove rubbish on your departure day or you may risk being charged €50 from your security deposit.
