Overview
Nestled on the slopes of La Tania overlooking picturesque snow covered trees, Chalet Quentin is a fabulous choice of ski chalet for large family groups or a group of friends. The chalet offers six super comfortable bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, a superb open plan living space and a deck with a hot tub. More experienced skiers can enjoy a last ski through the pretty trees off piste to get to back to the chalet at the end of the day. Even beginners only need to walk two hundred metres to the piste and the lift. The chalet enjoys a brilliant location which is only a five minute walk from the centre of the village.
La Tania is a picture postcard ski village which sits between Courchevel and Meribel with excellent access to the whole of the Three Valleys ski area, 600kms of piste. It is a small, welcoming village with a good range of bars, restaurants, shops, ski schools and kindergartens but at the same time its size makes it utterly charming and you are never far from the slopes or the village amenities. As well as downhill skiing and snowboarding, La Tania offers fun activities including sledging, night skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and paragliding.
The chalet is built over two floors with the living spaces and one bedroom on the ground floor and the remaining bedroom suites upstairs. Your living spaces are warm and welcoming with exposed beams and stonework. Also on the ground floor is a laundry space, a boot room fitted with helpful heated boot driers and one twin bedroom with an ensuite shower room. Upstairs you will find four twin bedrooms and one double room, again all with well-maintained ensuite shower rooms.
What you should know…
- Every bedroom in Chalet Quentin enjoys its own ensuite bathroom. This isn’t always the case in typical Savoyard chalets but it is very helpful when everyone arrives back from the slopes!

The Resort
Courchevel is made up of six satellite villages, each with their own distinct style and atmosphere, and picturesque forest roads to lead you in-between. Most well known is the illustrious Courchevel 1850 with its reputation for exclusivity and an A-List clientele. 1850 is certainly the place to go for five-star hotels, swanky bars and extravagant nightlife. The other Courchevel villages (such as Courchevel Moriond) have a much more laid back vibe and are certainly the more affordable choice.
The skiing in Courchevel is split into four levels and you can take an excellent free ski bus in between. At the resort itself you have 150 kilometres of pistes at your feet and while you can get a Courchevel lift-pass you can also ski the whole of the Three Valleys with an area-pass. Since the slopes here face north, the snow at Courchevel is more reliable than elsewhere in the Three Valleys. Courchevel pistes are absolutely unrivaled, meticulously maintained and perfectly positioned to align with the landscape.
With its highest lift at 2740m altitude, Courchevel is exceptionally good for high altitude skiing with incredible alpine views, and the most impressive runs are best suited for intermediate and advanced skiers. But for the little ones just finding their snow legs, the resort has a fantastic children’s village where they can learn in a stress-free environment. Ski season here lasts until late April and even if you prefer not to ski at all, you’ll be well entertained with everything from scenic walks to classical music concerts.
In the evenings, the Courchevel night skies are lit up by spectacular firework displays that could get anyone in the mood for a night on the town. The bars here are a good mix of casual and upmarket, so there’s plenty for all tastes to enjoy when it comes to après-ski. Courchevel also has a well-earned reputation for being the best ski resort when it comes to gastronomy.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesChalet Quentin is perfect for families or friends with children. Sleeping up to twelve guests, it is usually big enough for two families. It is very well designed with a large entertainment space, ideal for family board games and watching a movie or large evening meals.
La Tania is excellent for families with a kindergarten and creche and a good number of ski schools. As well as skiing, children can enjoy sledging, the usual snow ball fights, night skiing during the school holidays, bumboarding, soft play and much more. With a ski pass you can take the bubble lifts back to the top until 8pm finding the floodlit track. The centre of La Tania is pedestrian only which is very popular with families.
Courchevel and Meribel are only ten minutes away in the car with some excellent activities for children. If your children are too little to ski all day, there is a free soft play centre under the Croisette building in Courchevel 1850. Also at 1850 and outside the Croisette, are horses and ponies with their carriages waiting to take families on a ride around the resort.
The Altiport area of Meribel is a lovely way to introduce children to the slopes. Its Moon Wild route is very gentle and very pretty through the forest. Le P’tit Moon is a designated area for young skiers aged between six and twelve years old.
