From your base here you are perfectly placed for visiting some of the best-loved villages and towns around the lake such as Bellagio which is 8km away as well as Varenna and Menaggio which can be reached on an enjoyable boat trip.

The home is set at the end of a small road and is nestled in a leafy, peaceful garden offering guests a tranquil oasis for sunbathing and reading in the sun. You only need to travel 1km to a small village to find a grocery store and a bar. For a wider range of amenities however, you should head to Bellagio which is 8km away.

Bellagio is a picture-perfect village which is a favourite amongst tourists. Though small, there is plenty to see and do here as you wander through the village’s winding cobbled streets. The pastel-hued buildings here contain shops, cafes and restaurants, with tables and chairs spilling out in to the lively streets. The village hails from the medieval era as you will notice as you gaze upon impressive buildings such as the Basilica of San Giacomo.

If the village is busy when you visit, you can unwind at the small lake beach or find a quiet spot for a picnic or a stroll in the gardens at Villa Serbelloni and Villa Melzi. If these grand, palatial villas interest you, then you should visit the sumptuous Villa Carlotta which is just a short boat ride away. Villa Carlotta is a 17th-century home with impressive interiors filled with rich tapestries and art and sits in a large botanical garden.

A holiday on Lake Como is not complete without taking a boat trip to some of the other villages and towns which are dotted around the lake. From Bellagio you can take trips to Varenna and Menaggio which both offer their own charm and characters. Varenna is one of the lake’s most picturesque towns and is filled with local craft shops and pretty cafes. While here you can also explore a medieval fortress and the historic Villa Cipressi.

Menaggio is quieter but this affords visitors a little breathing space to rest and take a deep-dive in to an enriching activity such as a pasta making class or a painting workshop with local experts. If you would like to get out in to the surrounding landscape, you can hire bikes here for an active afternoon. Alternatively, you may prefer to lounge in the sun at the splendid beach and try out some activities on the water such as lake swimming or kite surfing.

Those who enjoy wandering the streets and shops of a bustling city do not need to miss out as Como city is 33km away. In the city you can indulge in some art and culture in the many museums and galleries. You can also see impressive buildings and attractions such as the cathedral, Villa Olmo and an amazing lighthouse. There are a wealth of shops, cafes and restaurants in the city too, you will find everything here from local markets to international boutiques. To round off the day nicely, why not take a ride on the funicular which will take you up to the charming village of Brunate which offers spectacular views.

On top of all of these wonderful villages and towns, Lake Como is also packed with natural attractions and activities. The lake itself offers a treasure trove of things to do, such as boat trips, sailing lessons and swimming.
