Overview
Staying at Maison Du Louvre is quite an experience. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to sleep in one of the four suites with a small private pool. Maybe you would simply prefer to relax by the courtyard fountain or swim laps around the larger swimming pool set in the beautiful and vast garden, just 10km from Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
Sleeping up to 16 guests across the estate, this is an incredible home which exudes characterful elegance and discreet touches of luxury. Across the main house, appreciate the fine furnishings, antiques and objets d’art from across the world and rest in the impressive living space with its wrought iron ceiling and windows allowing light to flood in.
The vast wine cabinet is a contemporary twist alongside the brilliantly equipped kitchen, every cook’s dream, with its stylish kitchen island and traditional pizza oven. Create feasts in the summer kitchen by the heated swimming pool, work out in the gym with its sauna or kick back and watch a film in the home cinema lounge.
There are seven bedrooms scattered across the main house, studio and annexe, all with king or super-king size double beds and most with their own private bathroom. Most impressive of all, four of the bedrooms each have their own private terrace with a small pool!
Elsewhere, enjoy breakfast beneath the pergola, before strolling around the parkland admiring ancient trees and terracotta pots filled with summer colour. Sun bathe on the poolside terrace, help yourself to cold drinks from the summer kitchen and then, as evening approaches, listen out for cicadas as you sip a glass of local wine making the most of one of the many peaceful spots across the grounds.
If you love exploring then this part of Provence has so much to offer. There’s Saint-Rémy-de-Provence with it’s art galleries, bistros and bustling Wednesday morning market and of course the landscapes of Les Alpilles. Sample olive oil near Les Baux-de-Provence, have lunch in Maussane and spot celebrities in Eygalières.
Then there’s the restaurants, wine-bars and historic sights of Avignon, just 21km away, or the antique stores, waterwheels and Sunday morning brocante in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, close to the magnificent scenery of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse.

Location
About the surrounding area of Maison Du LouvreAround a 10-minute drive east of Eyragues and 10km from Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Maison Du Louvre is set in 1.7 hectares of grounds surrounded by farmland and little villages so typical of this part of the Bouches-du-Rhône, well located for visiting Avignon and close to the heart of the Les Alpilles Regional Natural Park.
There is a local village just a couple of minutes away by car with a small grocery shop for fresh bread whilst Eyragues (5.5km) is a larger flower-filled village with restaurants and a wider range of shops. Discover wonderful walking trails beyond Eyragues or hire bikes to make the most of the landscapes with glorious views towards Les Alpilles.
Eyragues is known for its wine production and wine-lovers should also note that the Rhône valley is also easily reached with the vineyards and wineries around Châteauneuf-du-Pape just over half an hour away. To the south, sample olive oil, regional cheeses and delicious honey at farms and mills, especially around Les Baux-de-Provence (20km), one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, and Maussane-les-Alpilles (20km).
Saint-Rémy-de-Provence’s Wednesday morning market is a delight to experience or visit on another day to soak up the town’s artistic ambience and follow the Van Gogh art trail. Eygalières (12km) is another picturesque hilltop village to visit with amazing views and plenty of charm whilst authentic Châteaurenard (9km) is home to an attractive old town and impressive feudal castle dating back to the 13th to 15th centuries.
You are also well located to drive across to the Vaucluse region for L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue’s (22km) Sunday morning brocante, waterwheels and pretty houses as well as Fontaine-de-Vaucluse (28km), a paradise for canoeing, kayaking and hiking enthusiasts. Then there’s the small city of Avignon (21km) with its daily markets, wine bars, restaurants and two UNESCO World Heritage sites, Le Palais des Papes and Le Pont d’Avignon.
