Château De Baloigne sits in the popular Ardeche region of south eastern France. For those seeking comfort, character, style and an atmosphere unique amongst our collection, then this medieval castle is the perfect choice for your luxury château holiday! This fabulous self-catering chateau is surrounded by medieval ruins providing a truly atmospheric holiday experience.
Château De Baloigne, and indeed the whole estate, is protected by the government as a Historic Monument. However, the ancient building has been combined with 21st century touches such as a fully fitted kitchen, hot and cold running water and modern bathrooms with showers. The interior décor is traditionally French but with a few Spanish touches.
Château De Baloigne can sleep up to 18 guests across the six bedrooms in the main house, a basic studio apartment in a separate part of the ruins (if required), and a tower with two bedrooms and bathrooms including a stunning rooftop terrace where you can sleep out under the stars on warm summer nights.
There is also table tennis, various dining terraces, a beautiful old open fire and a library.
- The Wi-Fi is only available in the dining room, the kitchen and the rear terrace adjoining the kitchen.
- There have been many groups with young children enjoy the chateau but remember that the property is set in castle ruins so some care does need to be taken!
- Please note that the 12-person rate allows access to Château only. 18-person rate allows access to both the Château and Tower.

Wedding Reception
The venue has two small marquees (8x4m) which each host 20 guests each. The upper ground floor terrace has space for 40 people.
The upper ground floor covered terrace can be used as a dancefloor for up to 60 people and all music should be turned off outside by midnight (or continue inside until 3.00 a.m.).
In the event of poor weather, a small event can move inside (less than 50 people) or otherwise extra marquees will need to be hired. Indeed, marquee hire is advised, especially for larger events.
Wedding Ceremony
The ruined chapel can seat up to 25 guests whilst the outdoor theatre can seat up to 200 people.
Where to Stay
Up to 18 guests can stay at Château De Baloigne and a further 150 guests can be accommodated nearby if planned well in advance (across hotels, campsites and other rentals in the region). The owner can provide details of transportation services.

The venue can provide contact details of caterers or you can provide your own. There is no corkage fee.

Events can take place in May, June, July, August or September.
The event fee depends on the number of guests attending.
The venue can provide details on non-exclusive suppliers. They can also provide 150 chairs and 12 tables (seating 96 guests across two different sizes).
Guests are not allowed to explore the ruins in the dark and children should be accompanied at all times.
There is an increased security deposit for wedding bookings and special insurance will need to be arranged - please enquire.
Fireworks are not permitted.
Please note that any event rental may be subject to additional charges, venue hire fees and to a higher security deposit, which will be in addition to any published rental rates and fees.
All events are on request only and subject to prior agreement from the owner, who reserves the right to refuse all events without their prior authorisation.
