Sitting above the quiet village of Srinjine on a lush, tree-covered hillside is Villa Zaklina, a charming holiday home that mixes the modern and the traditional.

With the beautiful garden opening up views of the surrounding hills and village down below, this villa offers a truly relaxing experience. An abundance of stone has been used inside and out, giving a timeless look and feel to Villa Zaklina. Rooms are comfortably furnished and have a welcoming sense of warmth.

The ground floor is like a mini-apartment, with a double bedroom and bathroom and a small kitchen. The main accommodation is found spread over the first floor.

On the first floor is an open-plan and friendly living area, with a cosy lounge that features several comfortable sofas, a television and a large fireplace. Through an archway is the fully-fitted, modern kitchen that’s equipped with every facility you could need.

A dining table sits in front of a beautiful window and seats up to eight people. There’s also access to a large terrace. A further three bedrooms are on this floor, with two having a double bed each and the third featuring a single bed and a bunk bed.

One of the double bedrooms also has a sofa bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower, as well as enjoying terrace access. There’s a family bathroom with bathtub for use for all guests.

Outside is a lovely garden that features a terrace with a large, private swimming pool and several sun loungers. There’s also a summer kitchen, dining table and barbecue. Another dining area sits to the side of the villa, with shade provided by a large, old fig tree.

It’s a tranquil place to enjoy al fresco meals as you listen to the calming sound of the birds in the trees. Adjacent to this space is a fantastic game and leisure room. This is home to a table tennis table, table football and some gym equipment.

Villa Zaklina sits on the edge of Srinjine village, so it’s just a few minutes’ walks to its amenities. Within the small, quiet village you’ll find a bakery, café/bar and supermarket. You’ll need to head to larger villages and nearby towns for a more excellent choice of shops and restaurants, with many of these places dotted along the coast.

Stobreč is a 15-minute drive away. It’s technically the home of one of the most important Roman buildings in Croatia, although 4th-century Diocletian’s Place is now considered to be within the city of Split. You’ll find some other interesting places to visit here too, including several churches and a harbour area with a lively fish market.

Many of the restaurants can be found along the seafront at Stobreč, as well as shops and supermarkets. There’s a lovely green space here too, called Park Stobreè. There are areas of pebbles and sand where many people enjoy riding horses along and a promenade for strolls with sea views.

Omiš is around 20-minutes away from the villa by car. This historic town is famous for being a favoured-home to many pirates during the 13th and 14th centuries. Nowadays, you can explore its attractions in peace while soaking up the traditional atmosphere.

Must-visits include 15th-century Starigrad Fortress and 13th-century Mirabella Fortress, as well as several beautiful churches. You can also go a ziplining adventure over a scenic canyon and try rafting down the River Cetina. It’s certainly the place to go if you’re a bit of an adrenaline junkie!

The city of Split, with its magnificent historical sites, scenic coastal vistas, and a welcoming local atmosphere, is a must-visit destination for travellers in search of the perfect balance of culture, relaxation, and adventure. Nestled along the captivating Dalmatian Coast, it’s a vibrant mix of modern life and ancient history, making it a thriving hub for both locals and tourists.

The heart of Split is the historic Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that stands as one of the best-preserved Roman monuments in the world. Built for the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century, this massive complex now forms the nucleus of the city. Within the palace walls, you'll discover a labyrinth of narrow streets, charming squares, and historic buildings. The Peristyle, an open-air courtyard, is a central gathering place, and both the Cathedral of Saint Domnius and the Temple of Jupiter showcase remarkable examples of ancient architecture. Strolling through the ancient streets, you'll come across quaint shops, lively cafes, and local markets.

The Riva promenade is the city's vibrant waterfront hub. Lined with cafes, restaurants, and shops, it's the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely stroll, sip a coffee, or dine while overlooking the stunning Adriatic Sea. The palm-lined promenade offers a lively atmosphere day and night, with street performers and events throughout the year.

Just a short walk from the from the centre of Split is Marjan Hill, a pristine nature park that offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling city streets. The park features lush greenery, jogging trails, and stunning viewpoints overlooking the city and the sea. It's an ideal place for hiking, picnicking, or simply enjoying the natural beauty of the Mediterranean.

The Split region offers a variety of beautiful beaches. Bacvice and Ovcice are two popular choices conveniently located near the city centre. The sandy shores are perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and trying your hand at the local beach sport, picigin. Exploring further along the coast, you'll find numerous rocky coves and pebble beaches, each with their own unique charm.

For adventure seekers, Split offers a wide array of outdoor activities and water sports. From kayaking and paddle-boarding to sailing and scuba diving, there's something for everyone who wants to experience the Adriatic up close. Split is a great base for taking boat trips to the nearby islands, where you can explore underwater caves and secluded beaches.

Croatian cuisine is known for its fresh, local ingredients and Mediterranean influence. You’ll be able to savour delicious seafood, grilled meats, and traditional recipes. To experience authentic Croatian flavours, visit the local konoba (taverns) that serve traditional dishes like pasticada (a slow-cooked beef stew), and peka (baked meat and vegetables). Pair your meal with local wines and olive oils for a complete gastronomic experience.

Split is a city of remarkable beauty and historical significance. Whether you're exploring ancient streets, soaking up the sun on pristine beaches, or indulging in delectable local cuisine, Split promises an unforgettable experience. Its blend of stunning natural landscapes, ancient history, and a welcoming Mediterranean lifestyle makes it a destination that offers something for every traveller.

  • Loved our stay!

    on 21/08/2021

The villa was beautiful! And the hosts are very nice and friendly and forward looking. We had everything we need on our first evening (Bread, cheese, bacon, wine). Only the way to the house is not good. We cut our tyres on the ground because it is concreted but really sharp edged. Although we loved our stay!!

  • Perfect

    on 14/08/2021

It was a perfect stay! The villa is amazing and the host was so lovely. We recommend the Villa Vultana without any hesitation

  • We had a great time!

    on 13/08/2018

We stayed 1st time in Croatia and spend 2 weeks within fantastic Villa Zaklina. The owner Julija and Marijo spend a lot of time and effort with a lot of lovely details to create this beautiful accommodation. The Villa is self-explaining at the Website references but honestly exceeded our expectations. We felt like homecoming immediately. With the private atmosphere and location you can more than relax enjoying a nice view down the village. A 20 to 30 min. ride would take you to the fantastic cities Omis and Split. The landscape in Cetina valley is just awesome and breathtaking.

  • We had a great time - many thanks!

We stayed 1st time in Croatia and spend 2 weeks in this fantastic Villa. The owners spend a lot of time and effort with a lot of lovely details to create this beautiful accommodation, they are very obliging and helpful. Any wish, any question - they take seriously care about their guests. A special thanks from our side for the Birthday cake, fresh fruits and vegetables as well as medical support! On special suggestion we would highlight the massage offered by Marijo. We recommend to do this directly at the beginning of your stay, just in case you would need additional application. • Just wonderful

    on 05/06/2018

The place is absolutely amazing, starting from the location, beautifully singing birds, and ending with the equipment of the house and the summer kitchen. The pool is perfect for those who relax on a sunny day, and a fig tree in which shade you can eat a meal. It was ready to leave, but we will definitely come back there. Friendly owners and very helpful, the whole family feel at home.
