Where is hot during the year?

Not everyone wants to go away in the summer months – sometimes the best time to get away is when the weather at home is starting to look miserable. So, we’ve put together a list of the best places to go for your sunshine fix at any time of year.

January, February, March

January sees the peek of South Africa's summer season, and the weather is especially warm and dry along Cape Town and the Garden Route. This makes it a great time to see the southern game parks, where you'll witness the best safari sightings.

Barbados is warm all year, however the first three months of the year are some of the best times to visit. With hot days and warm evenings, it’s a great place to escape for some winter sun and a culture-soaked Caribbean holiday.

With the rainy season finishing in December, January – March is the ideal time to visit Thailand’s eastern island, Koh Samui. Dry and hot, reaching 29° you can experience the vibrant culture, powder-soft beaches and crystal-clear water without being caught in a monsoon.

April, May, June

Varying between 25° and 33° at this time of year, this Arabian jewel is a top destination for people looking to experience somewhere a little bit different. Bustling souks, intricately decorated architecture and the magical Sahara Desert… it’s a place like no other.

Dry and warm, this is the best time to visit upmarket Seminyak. From beach clubs to waterfront dining and boutique shops to ancient temples, this Balinese paradise is a beauty, and reaches highs of 31° in these three months.

This is a great time to visit Turkey – the temperatures are warm, and the tourists haven’t started pouring in yet. Golden beaches, ancient archeological sites, seaside towns and one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World; Bodrum has got it going on!

July, August, September

Peak season for this slice of Spanish paradise, Mallorca hits between 27°-30° in these months. With stunning diverse landscapes - from vineyards in the countryside to cliff-fringed swimming coves, it’ll always be a go-to for a summer getaway.

A great destination for the whole family, Sicily boasts hot Mediterranean sunshine (between 26°-30°) at this time of year. Although visiting outside of these months is still very warm. With great outdoor activities, history, art and cuisine – everyone will love it!

Great weather and little rain, Nice is an alluring destination for those looking for a beautiful summer holiday. With a stunning seaside location, a fusion of Italian and French culture, and a captivating art scene, you’ll leave a part of your heart in Nice that’s for sure.

October, November, December

This time of year is when Cyprus starts to cool off, but it still reaches an average of 22° in November, so it’s great for those who are looking for somewhere pleasant to retreat in Autumn. Rich in historical sites, golden beaches and great food, Cyprus is an intriguing myth-soaked country.

A popular haunt for families in the half-term break, Tenerife (and all the Canary Islands) offer warm temperatures without having to travel too far. Averaging 26° in October and lowering to 21° in December, this volcanic, beachy escape is an idyllic Autumn destination.

Embrace the low season in this charming port city - thanks to its south of France setting, Marseille never really gets too cold anyway! Marseille is full of world-class dining spots, museums and boutique shops, that you can explore even when the temperatures are cooler.
