Can Vella is just a 10-minute walk away from the town centre of Pollensa, placing guests just a short distance away from a varied assortment of exciting tourist attractions. If you are looking to seek out the true vibrancy that Pollensa has to offer, the Pollensa Market allows guests to learn more about the town's local customs. This market is a true gem within the town and hosts an astonishing 300 stalls. Here, you can travel amongst the local vendors and purchase a range of artisan clothes, bags, and more. Plus, there is also a section of the market that sells a collection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Thus, you can gain a true taste of what this eclectic town has to offer. The Pollensa Market can be found in the main square in the centre of the town. It occurs every Sunday between 8 am and 1:30 pm.

Pollensa also boasts a rich and alluring medieval past, with the Placa Vella located just a short walk away from the town centre. This area is known as the Old Square and originally dates back to 1515. Within this location, you can explore the archaic and awe-inspiring parish church that has welcomed tourists from far and wide. There is also a grandiose manor house called Can Llobera, which was owned by one of the town's most prominent families. Placa Vella also hosts a wide selection of community events, such as Pi de Sant Antonio, a fun activity that encourages the younger generations to climb a pine tree that has been covered with slippery soap.

This quaint town is also home to Placa de l'Almonia, a small square that has collected a large amount of history throughout the years. This area is home to a large house that was used to care for and serve some of Pollensa's poorest citizens during the 15th century. Furthermore, Placa de l'Almonia was also used as a battleground back in 1550, when the citizens had to protect their town from vicious ambushers. Modern-day citizens now hold a memorial ceremony for those who lost their lives during this conflict on the 2nd of August every year.

The town has several places of interest to visit, including the Roman bridge, signposted ‘Pont Roma’, which is still in use, and the Puig de Pollensa – a small mountain topped by a monastery just outside the town. Pollensa is filled with exciting attractions and destinations, making this the perfect location for any family. Located just over 10-minutes away from the town centre of Pollensa is Alzinaret Caves, a landmark that is sure to excite the whole family. These caves date back to 1600 BC and host a wide selection of prehistoric artefacts for guests to discover. Despite their archaic history, the caves were recorded in 1927 by British archaeologist Wilfred Hemp. To honour his discovery, a cave named Number 7 of Hemp acts as a shrine for his work. There are around seven caves to discover, and guests can take their time as they travel throughout the landmark. Moreover, there is a collection of benches at the front of the caves for guests who would prefer to sit out of the activity.

Situated at the northernmost point of Mallorca, the Formentor Lighthouse is a perfect attraction for those looking to explore the outstanding beauty of Pollensa and its nearby areas. This striking landmark is located just under an hour away from the town centre and sits 210 meters above sea level. The lighthouse originally opened back in 1863 as an intuitive way to guide boats to safety as they sailed off the shores at night, especially as they were close to a few rocky and jaded structures. As you take the drive to the very top, you will be able to see a wide range of amazing scenery that has brought inspiration and awe to some of the world’s finest poets and photographers.

The Pollensa Museum is a truly exquisite tourist destination that embodies the town’s attractive artistic legacy. This attraction hosts a variety of Gothic altarpieces, Buddhist mandalas and even presents art dating back to the 10th century. Although the museum is known for its Gothic roots, it was officially founded back in 1975 after it was praised at the acclaimed Summer Exhibition of Painting back in the 1960s. The Pollensa Museum is just a 5-minute drive away from the town centre and is free to enter. It should be noted that this museum is open from 10 am till 2 pm on weekdays and is closed on weekends.

Had a really great holiday and would recommend the villa and the onsite team to friends and family. Only improvements would be to provide more self catering equipment - eg, washing line/clothes drying rack, and BBQ utensils. Otherwise great villa and holiday!
