Pool Ideal for Kids Walk to Beach Walk to Village

There are not that many villas that are just 50m from the gorgeous beach of Can Picafort, but Casa Martinella is one of them! In fact, this wonderful, stylish villa is so close to everything that you do not need a car here unless of course, you want to explore this fabulous island. Casa Martinella has 3 bedrooms, so is ideal for a family or a group of friends.

Can Picafort is a fantastic, family-friendly resort with a fabulous beach and a huge range of entertainment and organised sport. The nightlife in Can Picafort is not comparable to the wild nightlife in Playa de Palma, S’Arenal and Magaluf but it does have its charm. There are chic beach bars and a handful of clubs as well as many restaurants serving delicious Mallorcan cuisine.

Casa Martinella is very serene and stylish. The beautifully furnished living room is very light and airy, opening through two sets of doors to the terrace and pool. The beamed ceiling is very attractive and adds to the warm ambience. The traditional kitchen/diner is bright and cheerful and again opens to the terrace and alfresco dining space.

Outside, the garden and terrace are very attractive. The garden is enclosed so feels very secluded and private, despite being right in the centre of town and so close to the beach. There is covered alfresco dining, a covered outdoor lounge area, a wonderful pool and plenty of sun loungers. Although the inside of the villa is very inviting, you are likely to spend most of your time outside.

The villa has 3 outstanding bedrooms, including 2 with double beds and the other with twin beds. They are served by 2 immaculate, tiled bathrooms. A lot of care has been taken with Casa Martinella. The artwork and plants all make for a loved and elegant property.

Casa Martinella is right in the centre of town, just 50m from the beach, 50m from a handy Spar store, 50m from the bus station and only 1km from a huge Mercadona supermarket. There are many wonderful restaurants and bars on your doorstep.

Can Picafort is a fun place to be. The long promenade is fun for walkers, cyclists and rollerbladers. You will pass by plenty of beach bars for an early morning cup of coffee or a cocktail later on. The beach has pedal boats, watersports and fun inflatable rides. In the summer months, there are a lot of market stalls selling clothing and souvenirs.

The Finca son Real is a stunning, traditional finca open to tourists just outside Can Picafort. You can explore the traditional agriculture of Mallorca and enjoy the very attractive gardens. There are hiking, riding and cycling trails. It will give you a feel for the real Mallorca.

Also, just outside Can Picafort is the delightful Sa Bassa Blanca Museum. It is in a beautiful Hispano-Moorish building with appealing white domes, tiled floors and doors and amazing gardens. The museum is full of curiosities, sculptures and various collections of modern and contemporary art and photographic exhibitions. The gardens are stunning and adorned with granite animals and a wish tree created by Yoko Ono, where branches are tagged with the personal hopes and wishes of visitors.

Further north you will come to Alcudia Old Town and the Bay of Alcudia. Alcudia Old Town is very beautiful and picturesque. The narrow cobbled streets are littered with fabulous restaurants, chic boutiques and colourful Romeo and Juliet balconies covered in flowers.

The town hosts many cultural events, traditional fiestas and classical music festivals. The 19th-century Neogothic parish church of Sant Jaume is definitely worth a visit. If you go on a Tuesday or Sunday, you will experience the buzzy markets selling souvenirs, linens, leather goods and jewellery. It’s a great time to go.

If you decide to explore further, you could go into the mountains and the charming, ancient villages. The views from the winding roads and mountain tops are incredible.

The vibrant northern town of Alcúdia is truly a year-round location, offering life, history and culture throughout all seasons. Lying just one kilometre inland from the famous holiday resort of Port d’Alcúdia, it’s the ideal place to taste rich Mallorcan heritage without having to stray too far off the beaten path.

The pedestrian area offers inviting restaurants, cafés with beautiful terraces and cosy backyards, handicraft shops, stylish boutiques and Mallorcan specialities. Stroll by medieval houses, the proud town hall and the so-called Casas Señoriales, the majestic houses of past nobility. Here and there, you get a glimpse of one of the big, shady patios and time, and again you reach the outer rim of the town wall.

Casa Martinella is perfect for a family holiday. It is very spacious, and the pool will be a great attraction. Being so close to the beach is also wonderful. If you get bored with the main Can Picafort beach, you can also visit Playa de Muro, Playa de Son Baulo, Playa Son Serra de Marina and Playa Son Real.

The beach promenade of Can Picafort stretches for more than 1km. You can hire bikes and enjoy the coastline and the reserve not far away. Near the harbour, you will find fitness equipment, a playground and in summer a trampoline. There is a karting track just outside Can Picafort where there are special karts for children.

Close by is the wonderful Parc Natural de S’Albufera. It is the largest and most important wetland area in the Balearic Islands. The park lies within the municipalities of Muro and Sa Pobla and affords protection to some 1708 hectares of marshes and dunes. You can obtain a visitors permit from the visitors' centre, which is free. It is wonderful for bike rides, hiking and birdwatching expeditions.

Birdwatchers come from all over Europe to see rare migrants such as Montagu’s harriers and Eleanora’s falcons. Species breeding there include stonechats, moustached warblers and the long-eared owl. Ospreys leave their breeding sites on the cliffs to come to the reserve to fish. There is an audiovisual display room where you can listen to the birdsong.

If you are visiting Palma, either on the way to the airport or otherwise, there is a delightful aquarium with all sorts of fish and underwater life to enjoy. The Big Blue is a very deep shark tank. Visitors will take an adventure through the Mediterranean, Pacific, Indian and Atlantic oceans to the sound of classical music whilst enjoying the 8000 specimens.
