Featuring four spacious bedrooms featuring a mix of double and twin beds and an additional child’s room with bunk beds, Casa Baladre is ideally suited to large family groups. The villa is a beautiful feat of architecture and design both inside and out, with stone walls that have been whitewashed while still maintaining their natural dappled texture and that protect against the heat of the summer months.

Inside, beams of juniper and olive stretch across the high ceilings for a charming, rustic look, and sumptuous soft furnishings in grey and cream, along with handsomely crafted furniture in quality woods, complete the high-end country-farmhouse aesthetic. The villa’s open-concept design allows the energy and light to flow seamlessly from the cosy lounge area to the spacious dining space, where you’ll find ample room for enjoying family feasts that have been rustled up in the well-equipped kitchen. Incredibly roomy, this delightful space is crammed with top-of-the-range appliances and an array of cookware, crockery and utensils, as well as large food preparation spaces, including a central island for extra space and convenience.

Casa Baladre’s rustic and stylish aesthetic carries through into the bedrooms, with two spacious double suites featuring ensuite bathrooms - one with a hydro-massage jacuzzi for the ultimate in luxury, and two twin rooms - one of which also has ensuite facilities. On request, guests here can access an adorable child’s room with bunk beds - ideal for under twelves! All of the bedrooms at Casa Baladre are spacious, bright and airy, with high-end, top-quality furnishings for a chic and relaxing stay.

The grounds of Casa Baladre are equally breathtaking and beautifully maintained, with a large garden surrounded by pine and almond trees and fully-furnished, sun-soaked terraces - ideal spots for chilling out, conversing with family and friends, or enjoying a cool drink on a hot day. There is a stylish open-air barbecue and dining area for alfresco meals and a large private pool - easily accessible by Roman steps - which overlooks the lush green hills. Pure bliss!

Casa Baladre is located in the secluded village of San Juan, a beautiful and peaceful area that enjoys a laid-back, traditional vibe. This gorgeous rural area is something of a hippie headquarters for those who seek out an alternative lifestyle embracing spirituality, philosophy, and good health. The village is home to a pretty whitewashed church and bleached white stone houses with sloping roofs and features a main street that is a real joy to behold. Bedecked with flowers, wrought iron balconies and ancient wooden doors, the cobbled streets are home to rustic cafes and welcoming bars, where tourists and locals alike gather to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.

On Sundays, the village comes to life with a delightful artisan market offering a fantastic selection of local organic produce and artisan crafts, such as homemade herb liqueur, organic bread, figs and almonds, as well as handmade soaps, candles, jewellery and leather wear - so be sure to save some room in your luggage to bring home some traditional souvenirs! Local bands play live in the square in the afternoons, and if you happen to be here on the 24th of June, you'll be able to enjoy the village's Fiesta de San Juan celebrations, featuring firecrackers and bonfires to drive away the evil spirits and welcome the summer.

Cala San Vicente beach is well worth a visit while you are here, popular for its fine white sands and clear, safe waters. On the coast, you'll find the cave of es Culleram, a shrine to the Goddess Tanit that dates back 2400 years, as well as a small promenade lined with restaurants - the seafood on offer here, is out of this world!

Another beach you should really try out is Ses Calates. Situated just five minutes from Casa Baladre, this beautiful hidden beach is one of the few beaches left on the island where you can bathe in total privacy and is ideal for packing up a picnic and spending the day in total, blissful relaxation.

THE REGION

San Juan (Sant Joan in Catalan) really is the last village in Ibiza. Arrive there and the only place left to go is the beach at Cala San Vicente, some kilometres down a steep, twisting road through pine-clad hills.

This traditionally rural area is home to a large number of agrotourism accommodations in all of Ibiza. Visitors come here to step back in time to the days when the island was a quiet Spanish backwater.

The day of 24 June is the day of the village's patron San Juan, Saint John the Baptist. The evening before, on 23 June, the night of San Juan is happening, a raucous fiesta featuring firecrackers and bonfires to drive away evil spirits and welcome the summer is celebrated in the village.

Casa Baladre is an incredibly family-friendly accommodation, with its single-storey, open-plan layout, spacious, enclosed grounds with a private pool, and a bedroom with bunk beds - just for them! Teens can make use of one of the villa’s stylish twin rooms, and home-from-home comforts such as satellite TV and WiFi, as well as air conditioning, means that the little ones stay cool, comfortable and entertained during their stay.

The villa’s surroundings could not be more perfect for enjoying a relaxing family holiday with the kids, with plenty of countrysides to explore - a delight for those who enjoy leisurely walks or cycling - and there are beautiful, sandy beaches just minutes away, including one of the island’s most secluded and private, Ses Caletes. This delightfully hidden gem remains unaffected by mass tourism and is a fantastic spot for a day of fun in the sun with the kids.

For a livelier beach experience, Oliver recommends taking the kids to nearby Cala San Vicente beach, where you’ll find dazzling blue waters, soft golden sands and excellent facilities. You and the kids will be able to spend all day here building sandcastles and paddling in the ocean. There are loungers and parasols on the beach, as well as a lifeguard, and there is good access for the disabled and for pushchairs. You’ll also find charging points for mobile phones and mobility scooters here too, as well as toilets and showers - so every eventuality is covered!

The traffic-free promenade is home to restaurants, bars, shops, and even a small supermarket, so everything you need during your trip is within easy reach, whether it’s some snacks and light refreshments, a three-course meal, a quick drink, or some groceries to take back to the villa. Activities here at Cala San Vicente beach include kayaking and banana boat rides, and it’s possible to rent small boats to explore the coastline, as well as pedalos, so there are plenty of unique things to entertain family members of all ages.
