Ca Baladrar is a stunning four-bedroom, three-bathroom villa in Benissa, Spain, with a private pool and sea views.

As soon as you approach the white-washed walls of this stunning Spanish villa, you'll feel like you've arrived home. Greenery is dotted along the property adding dashes of colour to the immaculate grounds. The minimalist design of whites, creams and terracotta sit against the bright blue sky, making Ca Baladrar a Mediterranean oasis where guests can truly sit back and relax in style.

The Mediterranean charm continues inside the house, which boasts wooden beams and curved lines and is filled with natural light. Crisp white walls and tiled flooring run through the property, giving an earthy feel. Treading across the stone floor into the living room, guests will feel like they are truly on holiday as the Spanish breeze runs through the house.

The modern kitchen is fully-equipped and is decorated to a natural aesthetic with crisp whites, stone counters, and cool tiled floors. You'll see that the owners have designed the interior of the house around natural features and decor in keeping with traditional Spanish architecture, making it a beautiful space to relax and prepare delicious dishes from local ingredients. A pleasant indoor dining area seats six, or eight if you eat Mediterranean style and sit close!

Ca Baladrar comfortably sleeps up to eight guests, offering three queen-size beds and two single beds. The rooms have been tastefully decorated to reflect the elements of the surrounding nature, utilising natural fabrics and furnishings.

The outdoor area is always a hit with guests, and the pool is undoubtedly a highlight of the property. Sun worshippers will be in their element by the pool, and it's easy to see why guests spend hours here topping up their tans. You'll be surrounded by Spanish flora and the natural landscape, so your time outdoors is guaranteed to be peaceful and rejuvenating. If you're in the mood to cook outdoors, then the terrace boasts a barbecue plus an outdoor lounging and dining area. The space is perfect for some outdoor entertaining and was built with those long summer evenings in mind.

Located towards the northern end of the Costa Blanca, Benissa is a small yet charming town dotted with exquisite medieval architecture and European plazas. The town has a well-preserved and well-maintained historical centre with charming nooks, centuries-old rough stone townhouses, and wrought iron balconies with colourful cascades of flowers hanging over the streets.

At the heart of the old town is the neo-gothic style "Catedral de la Marina" (Marina Cathedral). A highlight of any trip to Benissa, the cathedral was only finished in the 20th century and is a relaxing stop on a day out. Palm trees shade the town square, and a children's play area is sure to keep the little ones happy, and you can stock up on a picnic at any one of the supermarkets in the town. Also near the villa is Moraira, a quaint coastal town with gorgeous blue waters that you will surely not want to miss!

If it's beaches that you're after, the stretch of coastline that houses Benissa is home to a number of quiet relaxing bays and coves and is dotted with cliffs and spectacular rocks which sit against the high mountain backdrop. The quiet beach of Playa La Fustera is idyllic, lined with fine sand, and is practically virgin, earning it a coveted EU blue flag beach status.

For a family day out, you can't go wrong with Cala Els Pinets, a twenty-metre-long small and sandy cove which is perfect for those who prefer smaller beaches. The clear, turquoise waters and rocky formations make it a delight to snorkel, so pack a picnic and grab your snorkelling gear. Benissa has four kilometres of coastline, and visitors love to make their way along it via the ecological path (Paseo Ecologico) coastal walk, a lovely day trip for visitors to discover the local coves. Benissa is also popular with scuba divers as there's a good variety of marine life and caves to explore.

A thirty-minute drive from the villa is the old town of Javea, a city bursting with history which cries out to be explored on foot. You'll walk past walls that were originally built to defend against pirate attacks and tread cobbled streets lined with white houses, flower boxes and wrought iron balconies. Head to the church of San Bartoleme in the town centre, which is the epitome of gothic architecture and make sure to visit the 18th-century town hall, which was built on a medieval cemetery. The church dates back to the 15th century and sits next to the indoor market, which sells fresh fish, meat and vegetables daily.

Kids

Best Suited For: Children
Ideal for Kids

The Costa Blanca has a huge range of family-friendly activities, and guests will benefit from hiring a car to really make the most of what Spain's famous White Coast has to offer for kids.

Animal lovers will enjoy the drive to the APAC rescue centre in La Xara, a donation-based horse rescue centre where children can feed and pet the horses. Or further up the coast is Bioparc Valencia, an "immersion zoo" which has meticulously recreated the wild natural habitats of the Savannah, Madagascar and Equatorial Africa, allowing wildlife like zebras, crocodiles, hyenas and gorillas to thrive.

You'll also have easy access to Brevis mini-golf. A shaded soft play centre keeps the kids entertained but is visible from the restaurant, or parents can take a seat on the tables and chairs next to it. A giant bouncy castle slide is available during busy periods for kids of all ages (adults have also been known to sneak on), and the park has a range of kid's toys as well as trampolines. Pedal bikes, trikes and cars are there for the taking on the go-kart style track, whilst mini golf and a small football pitch are there for older kids and adults. There is a reasonably priced bar and restaurant offering good quality tapas, light bites and full meals.

For Jurassic Park fans, Dinopark Algar (which is closed in the winter) is a fun and educational attraction set in 6 acres of botanical and cactus gardens. Realistic models and robotic dinosaurs are placed in natural settings for children to enjoy and learn. The park boasts over thirty animated dinosaurs, which are accompanied by sound and educational information.
