Sitting on the cliff top just outside Javea, this lovely villa enjoys a privileged setting with magnificent views over the sea and out to the delightful Isla del Portixol.
Arranged over two levels, Can Illa has a typical Mediterranean style, with whitewashed walls and charming terracotta tiled roofs. The interior is well-designed, with the main living spaces found on the upper floor where large arched windows frame views out over the coast. Enjoying plenty of light, the rooms are minimally furnished with clean white walls and elegant furniture, whilst hints of colour add a sense of warmth and character. A sofa and several armchairs offer a comfortable place to sit, whilst a neat kitchen is well-equipped to prepare meals throughout your stay. Alternatively, enjoy leisurely dinners out on the terrace and entertain guests with an entertaining barbecue beneath the stars.
Stepping outside, a curving staircase gives access to the lower terrace, where the swimming pool invites you for a refreshing dip. Enclosed by high stone walls and swaying palms, the terrace is completely secluded and, with its south-facing aspect, offers the ideal place to soak up the sun and enjoy the peaceful setting. Large wicker armchairs sit beneath the shade, perfect for relaxing with a book or making the most of the warm evenings and sharing a bottle of wine as the light fades.
There are four bedroom suites to choose from, each with a large double bed and its own bathroom, offering plenty of space for everyone. The thick stone walls and floors ensure that guests will keep cool during the warmer months and have a peaceful night's sleep.

About the surrounding area of Can IllaSituated on the cliff top, Can Illa enjoys a wonderful perspective over the coast whilst being within a short distance of the nearby town of Javea and plenty of beaches and coves to enjoy.
Protected by the Cap Negre headland, the shell-shaped bay of Cala del Portixol is less than a 20-minute stroll from the villa (on quiet roads without clear pavements). Lovely white and blue 'barracas' (old fisherman's houses) line the back of the pebbled beach and the sheltered waters are beautifully clear, perfect for a refreshing swim or grab a snorkel to discover the sea bed and shoals of colourful fish below. You can hire a kayak to explore the Jurassic-like cliffs or paddle out to the small island that can be seen from the villa. Perched on the side of the bay, Cala Clemence offers splendid views, and you can enjoy a relaxing lunch, sampling traditional Valencian cuisine or a simple plate of tasty fresh seafood. Another lovely spot is Cala Granadella, a secluded bay surrounded by high cliffs and wild plants. Enjoy a swim in the turquoise water or follow the cliff path out to the headland, where you can see the remains of the Castell. Once a prominent fortress, the ruins occupy a strategic position with spectacular views stretching along the coastline, and the point marks one of the 15 viewpoints of the Ruta de los Miradores.
For keen walkers, the nearby landscape has plenty to explore, with the beautiful Parque Natural del Montgó just a a 30-minute drive. Named after the mountain shaped like a 'sleeping elephant' (montgo), the park features many well-marked trails inviting you to explore the diverse landscape and rich plant life. To the far side of the mountain, the Jardí de l'Albarda is also worth visiting, where you can wander through the immaculately kept gardens whose design took influence from the Valencian Renaissance style.
Closer to the villa, the town of Javea has plenty to do, with several sandy beaches and a historic old quarter dating back to Medieval times. Or head south to Moraira, where you can explore the cobbled streets and whitewashed buildings, or stop in the central square to admire the Iglesia Fortaleza de Santa Catalina. Wander out to Mount of Cap D'Or to see the historic watchtower and enjoy spectacular views along the coastline, or head to the marina, where you can sit at one of the waterfront restaurants and watch the boats come in and moor. El Pescador is a great choice for freshly grilled fish, or seek out Terra Vian, a charming wine bar tucked in the Old Town beside the castle. With a superb collection of wines, delicious tapas and a lively atmosphere, it is the perfect place to sit on the terrace and enjoy a relaxing evening.

With the beach within walking distance, it is easy to spend the day beside the sea, and the charming Cala del Portixol is a wonderful spot for swimming. Grab a snorkel to explore the seabed and colourful fish, or hire a kayak and paddle out to discover the charming island and Jurassic-like cliffs. For those with younger children, hop in the car and head to Playa de Arenal, which is less than 10 minutes along the coast. With its long stretch of sand and gentle shoreline, Javea's main beach is a popular spot for families. There are good public facilities as well as a handful of 'chiringuitos', perfect for a lunchtime treat or ice cream.
The sunny climate makes the area popular for sports enthusiasts, and there are tennis courts and a sailing school nearby. Visit Karting Javea for an adrenaline-pumped afternoon. Alternatively, head inland to the national park, where you can find plenty of well-signposted hiking trails that are quite accessible for all ages. Enjoy a walk in the natural scenery and see the incredible diverse plants and wildlife at the foot of Mount Montgo.
