This classic and impressively constructed Spanish finca boasts a unique and extremely privileged position, perched on a secluded private hillside with superlative views of the expansive Sierra de Aracena stretching for many miles on either side, Hacienda Buena Vista is an idyllic oasis and the perfect holiday home for that very 'Special Occasion'.
Designed and constructed to exacting high standards, evidence of the meticulous attention to detail can be seen in the quality of the wood, ceramics and décor where a sympathetic blend of both traditional and modern materials creates a welcoming family home very much in harmony with its rural surroundings. Great care has been taken to retain vaulted ceilings, open fireplaces, ancient beams and original stone floors, to name but a handful of the distinctive features. Large rooms throughout offer ample space and there is a seemingly endless choice of quiet corners and shaded terraces to seek out with a drink and a good book.
Perhaps the highlight of this exceptional property is the private swimming pool, where near 360º degree views can be enjoyed, a truly magical vantage point. In addition to the manicured lawns, mature trees and shrubs that grace the surrounding gardens, there are extensive orchards spreading down the hillside and to the sides of this imposing finca, providing total seclusion and solitude for anyone staying here, which also makes it the ideal 'venue' for large family gatherings or for anyone wishing to celebrate a special birthday, anniversary or wedding. Guests are welcome to plan a range of events or celebrations at Hacienda Buena Vista, and the owners are more than happy to help you do this!
When your roaming instincts get the better of you, the choices are vast. Days out can be spent in nearby Seville, down on the coast in Huelva and even over the border into Portugal, all can be reached within an hour by car.
What you should know…
- Hacienda Buena Vista is located off the beaten track, so please note not everybody will be able to communicate in English. It is reccommended to take a phrase book and a map with you
- The swimming pool is not fenced, so children should be supervised at all times
- The local restaurants and tapas bars primarily serve up traditional Spanish dishes, so those looking for international cuisine might have to wait till they visit nearby Seville!

Hacienda Buena Vista is an expanisve finca, with plenty of space for everything you could need! Perfect for a large group of friends, or several families together, guests will absolutely adore this slice of paradise.

About the surrounding area of Hacienda Buena VistaThe scenery around the picturesque and traditional Andalucian region of La Granada de Rio-Tinto makes you believe that you’ve stepped back in time; such is the natural beauty and abundant evidence of how things used to be. Rolling hills draped in olive groves, lush valleys swathed in all varieties of citrus trees and an explosion of wild herbs infusing the air with swathes of pleasing aromas. It’s safe to say that the flora and fauna here is quite staggering.
Another reason for visiting this charming region is the close proximity of Seville, surely one of the most iconic, prettiest and diverse cities in all of Spain. Less than an hour’s drive away, this authentically Spanish city has heaps of breathtaking sights to keep large families of various age groups entertained for hours on end. Visitors are encouraged to stroll through the streets and admire the orange trees, tuck into some delicious tapas, and cross the Guadalquivir river to the neighbourhood of Triana and catch a flamenco show.

Best Suited For: All AgesThere is plenty for kids to do at Hacienda Buena Vista! Not only is there ample space to run around in, but there is a large swimming pool to play in, a TV with DVDs, and even an animal farm on the property grounds! Make sure to mention it to the property manager, who will happily take guests on a tour around to meet the animals! It includes sheep, horses, pigs, ducks, and a donkey. Outside of the property, in the surrounding countryside, guests might be lucky enough to grab a sight of boar, deers, lizards, geckos, eagles, owls, foxes, and mongoose!
Just a half an hour's drive away is the quaint market town of Aracena. This town, whose name comes from the nearby Sierra de Aracena mountain range, is small but contains plenty for the family to do! The main tourist attraction here is the town's castle. Built during the thirteenth century and on top of a previous Moorish castle, Aracena Castle is now emblematic of the town. Guests can dive into the history through an audio-guided tour of the castle grounds. Just below the castle is the Grotto of Marvels. This stunning natural grotto is lit by coloured lighting, which completely amplifies the beauty of these caverns and lakes. This one is a must-see!
Another 30-drive away, in the opposite direction from Hacienda Buena Vista, is La Reserva del Castillo de Las Guardas. This safari park is excellent for kids to marvel at the birds, mammals, and reptiles on show, and you can even drive through the park and get up close with some of them! Why not stop by on your way to Seville? This gorgeous city is the perfect place for a day out with the kids. Take a tour through the Royal Álcazar, marvel at the Cathedral, enjoy the local tapas, and clap along to a stunning flamenco show.
If a day out at the beach is needed, guests can take a trip down to many of the beaches in and near the city of Huelva. These stunning sandy beaches are top-rated and roughly an hour and a half away by car. Make use of the trip and hang out in Huelva! This port city has some of the best beaches around, along with nature reserves and long history stemming from its status as a trading hub.

Wedding Reception
The villa benefits from an air-conditioned or fully opened events room, with a maximum seated capacity of 150. The front terrace can host 250-300 seated guests, or the rear terrace (surrounding the pool area) has space for 100 seated guests and space for 300 guests standing with scattered bar tables. The glass room can be fully opened, which will provide free movement between the front and rear terraces. Dancing is possible in the events rooms or on the front terrace. Here, there is a dedicated dance area that is always kept clear for the first dance and evening party. Dancing can go on until whatever time is desired, as there are no music restrictions here.
Wedding Ceremony
There is a church, located roughly 1km from the property, where couples can choose for the ceremony to be held (although couples must be Catholic to have a ceremony here). The church will seat a maximum of 150 guests with further standing space. Additionally, the Priest is happy to have a guest English-speaking Priest if required. This can be arranged by the wedding planner. The owners of Hacienda Buena Vista can also arrange for blessings to be held at the property.
Additional Fees for Events
The venue charges an additional event fee on top of the rental to be paid direct, please enquire for further details. There also may be a small charge for all non-resident house guests.
Restrictions on Decorations and Themes
There are no restrictions. Please bring your creative ideas!
Wedding Planning
The owners can recommend a wedding planner, or guests are free to use their own if desired.
Catering
The venue can arrange catering or suggest a trusted caterer.
Wedding Packages
The venue can provide furniture, extra cleaning and marquees on request, please enquire for details. The venue wants you to enjoy the wedding of your dreams, so every package is different. There is no set wedding package.
Where to stay
Hacienda Buena Vista can accommodate 24 guests, with an additional 11 guests on supplementary beds in some of the bedrooms. Other guests may stay in the nearby market town of Aracena, where there are several hotels available to suit a range of budgets. The owners are happy to suggest hotels if needed, and they have a good relationship with a local bus company that can transfer guests from Aracena to the venue and back.
Venue Accessibility
There is complimentary parking on-site. There is limited accessibility via public transportation; guests may need to share rides or taxis. The venue can make suggestions. The venue is fully accessible.
Venue Back-Up
There is a lot of indoor space should there be bad weather.
Wedding Suppliers
The venue has an excellent list of suppliers, though you are also welcome to use your own suppliers. The list includes wedding cars, romeria carts, horse-drawn carriages, florists, photographers, DJs, live music, flamenco singers/dancers, instrumentalists and wedding planners.
Flexibility on Duration
There is flexibility through weddings, which usually have a minimum 3-night stay. Please enquire for details.
Children
Children are welcome, but the venue does not offer supervised childcare.
Security Measures
There is limited security measures in place, guests are responsible for their belongings.
Noise Restrictions
There are no noise restrictions. Parties can carry on late at night.
Other
Please let us know if you would like to see photographs from other weddings at the venue or a brochure. The venue is available for other events with the same numbers and restrictions. Weddings can be held at any time of the year at Hacienda Buena Vista, but the start and end times may be restricted based on the weather of the season.
Please note that any event rental may be subject to additional charges, venue hire fees and to a higher security deposit, which will be in addition to any published rental rates and fees.
All events are on request only and subject to prior agreement from the owner, who reserves the right to refuse all events without their prior authorisation.

Gorgeous house, great outdoor space
We absolutely loved our stay at Hacienda Buena Vista. The house is lovely, all the bedrooms were great and Kate and Rafe were great hosts. We were a group of 23 friends who enjoyed a few days chilling out here and catching up. There was loads of space for us to all eat together or hang out by the pool. Some of us made good use of the gym and snooker rooms as well. We are hoping to return next year, we all loved it!

Excellent stay, really helpful booking and service. An absolutely amazing house. Kate and Rafe were superb hosts with excellent food. The setting is delightful, the facilities extensive and we’ll definitely be back.

Absolutely worth the wait!
We went as a group of 10 people, originally booked for 2020 but had to delay until June 2022 due to the Covid pandemic. All I can say is that the place was absolutely worth the wait. Spectacular surroundings, incredibly beautiful hacienda, incredibly comfortable rooms and super helpful and accommodating hosts. They even took care of grocery shopping for us to save us the trouble of stocking up on food & drink. We had an amazing time and plan to return in a couple of years!

Our family holiday at Hacienda Buena Vista was first-class in every way, greatly enjoyed by young and old alike. Lovely house, beautifully furnished, with excellent facilities for 19 of us in a superb location, Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, Kate and Rafael, who produced two wonderful meals for us.

We were blessed to be the first big group of 30 ppl who joined Rafael & Kate in their landmark hacienda compound that has been 10 years in building, yet 100 years in its creation.
Coming from one of the oldest families in the region, this the ONLY property in Spain where the world famous Iberico are feed, killed and stored on the same property! Rafael and Kate were brilliant hosts, not just taking care of everything before our arrival, but also spending their time with us to explain the history, the property(ies), the antiques, and the intricacies of Iberico ham.
The hacienda was clean, luxurious and very comfortable. We spent a lot of time around the pool and on the deck eating and drinking. Even in the height of summer, the property is designed that there was always a shady area with AC/wind that would cool us down.
For my 40th birthday, the gift of creating such a wonderful space for my friends (and their families) to come from around the world was the best present I could wish for.
