Escape to the alps in style with Chalet Estelle, a luxury ski chalet situated in the sleepy hamlet of Fornet. With five wonderful bedrooms to choose from, this elegant property is the perfect place to enjoy a ski trip with your nearest and dearest.
Sleeping up to fourteen guests, Chalet Estelle has been designed to provide guests with the ultimate in comfort and luxury. Featuring state-of-the-art amenities and a range of facilities, you’ll find yourself not wanting to leave the chalet at all.
Spread across four levels, Chalet Estelle provides visitors with plenty of space to let their hair down and unwind while they enjoy their vacation time. Your first floor, the ground floor, opens onto a spacious lobby and dedicated ski storage area featuring boot heaters to keep your boots nice and warm for the next time you head out. The ground floor also features a modern wellness suite, complete with an indoor hot tub, hammam, sauna, and massage facilities.
On the first floor, you’ll find three bedrooms; two doubles and one triple bunk room capable of sleeping six people at a time. Additional sleeping facilities can be found on the second floor, comprising of another double bedroom and the chalet’s master suite. Each room has its own en-suite bathroom facilities. In addition to your bedrooms, an outdoor Nordic-style hot tub is located on the terrace of the second floor.
The final floor is made up of a beautiful open-plan living and dining space. Comfortable chairs and sofas gather around a roaring fireplace while a long Alpine-style dining table overlooks the stunning mountains beyond its large windows.
While your large kitchen is perfect for making meals, there’s no need for that; your chalet comes with its own private chef. A dedicated chef will craft delicious meals for you and your guests throughout your stay, setting you up for the day with hearty breakfasts and wowing you in the evenings with delicious dinners.
What you should know…
- The property does not feature an elevator to move between floors, so it may be unsuitable for guests with certain mobility issues
- Chalet Estelle is in a peaceful area, a 25-minute walk from the main resort, with a free shuttle bus service for guests' convenience.
- It is not recommended for children under the age of five to use the hot tub or nordic bath, and older children should always be supervised when using these facilities

About the surrounding area of Chalet EstelleChalet Estelle is located in the idyllic hamlet of Le Fornet, just a stone’s throw away from the popular resort of Val d'Isère. This peaceful hamlet is perfect for holidaymakers looking to kick back and relax, whilst enjoying laid-back skiing activities within arm’s reach.
To get to Chalet Estelle, you can drive directly to Le Fornet from your home, or you can transfer over from one of the nearby airports. Le Fornet is served by both Lyon and Geneva airports, both of which are just over two hours away by car. As Chalet Estelle is located slightly outside of Val d'Isère, it may be beneficial to rent a car during your stay to get around beyond the hamlet.
From Le Fornet, visitors have easy access to some of the best skiing and snowboarding terrain in the world. The area around the village offers a range of ski runs for all levels, from gentle beginner slopes to more challenging terrain for advanced skiers and snowboarders. Le Fornet is also a great starting point for off-piste skiing and snowboarding, with several popular routes accessible from the village. Additionally, Le Fornet is home to several traditional Savoyard restaurants and a few shops, including a small grocery store and a ski rental shop.

The Resort
Val d’Isere is the oldest of the French ski resorts and a gleaming icon at the end of the valley where the residential town lies. Surrounded by what is arguably some of the most beautiful mountain landscape in the world, the chalet village is centred around a charming baroque church. It’s a lovely place for wandering, taking in the cosy atmosphere and spending quality time with your favourite people.
Val d’Isere is composed of three skiing sections. These are La Daille, Val d’Isere centre and Le Fornet, all of which are linked by a free shuttle service. Alongside Tignes, the resort is part of a wider ski area known as Espace Killy, and a lift pass will get you access to its entirety. Ski season in both resorts stretches as long as May.
Thanks to its high altitude, Val d’Isere is probably your most snow sure option for skiing in the French Alps. The village rests at 1850 metres and its peak on top of the La Grande Motte glacier is 3456 metres high. Sixty per cent of the resort’s pistes are set above 2200 metres, meaning that the skiing is consistently good but on rare occasions, bad weather can cause the slopes to close. It’s also important to keep in mind that Val d’Isere isn’t the best choice if you’re just finding your feet on the snow, and beginners may well find themselves challenged. On the flipside, Val d’Isere is one of the top choices for experienced skiers and snowboarders, with plenty of challenging black runs (such as the iconic Face the Bellevarde, where the 1992 Olympic men’s downhill was run).
And to go with some of the most exciting and picturesque skiing in France, down in the village you’ll find some amazing bars and restaurants. What better way to celebrate conquering that tricky black run than by indulging in some equally entertaining après-ski? On the mountain itself, you can start your evening with DJ’s and live music at La Folie Douce until the lifts close and then work your way into town.

Within the chalet, kids can make use of the property’s high-speed internet, allowing them to stay connected to friends back home as well as stream their favourite games and media whenever they want. Dedicated children’s sleeping facilities are available in the form of the bunk room, a novel space featuring three sets of traditional Alpine cabin bunks which kids adore sleeping in.
Your private chef will be more than happy to cater for your kids’ needs, whether that be child-friendly versions of adult dishes or making sure any special needs are met with ease.
Around Le Fornet, kids will find plenty to do. From kid-friendly slopes to lively ski schools, kids can find lots of entertainment right on their doorstep with Chalet Estelle.
Further afield, kids can try their hand at traditional winter activities like snowshoeing and sledding, or you can head into Val d'Isère to discover what activities this lively resort has to offer.
