Apartment Mathilde is a true example of luxurious Alpine living. Located at the entrance of the Val d’Isere resort, this spacious and modern four-bedroom apartment is the perfect base for exploring the surrounding town and mountainscape.
As soon as you step inside the apartment, you’re sure to be struck by its elegant design and beautiful finishing touches. The open-plan living and dining area is light and airy, with large windows that provide stunning views of the surrounding mountains before opening up onto a private terrace with a bubbling hot tub.
The lounge is furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs and a large flat-screen TV bathed in natural light from the adjacent windows, making it the perfect place to relax with family and friends after a day on the slopes.
The dining area is located to the rear of the lounge area with a large reclaimed wood dining table and chairs that can comfortably seat up to eight people for group meals or board games using the apartment’s complimentary board game library. Meanwhile, the kitchen is modern and fully equipped, with modern appliances like a coffee machine and everything you need to prepare delicious meals throughout your stay.
For sleeping, the apartment has four lovely bedrooms, all of which are en-suite. Each bedroom features either a double bed or two singles which can be converted to a double, soft mattresses, and cosy bedding, ensuring a good night’s sleep while the snow falls outside.
The apartment also benefits from a ski room, so you can securely keep your ski equipment warm and dry ready for the next day.
Apartment Mathilde is located at the edge of Val d'Isere, just a few minutes' walk from the shops, restaurants, bars, and ski lifts of the resort, making it easy to access the slopes and start your day of skiing.

To get your holiday started the journey to Val d'Isere is relatively easy, with several airports located within a few hours' drive such as Lyon and Geneva, both of which are around three hours away. From the airport, you can arrange for a rental vehicle, private taxi, or shuttle bus to complete the journey to Apartment Mathilde.
Once you arrive at the resort, you’ll find the apartment to be conveniently located within walking distance of the ski lifts and the many shops, bars, and restaurants that Val d'Isere has to offer. The resort is also home to a number of spas and wellness centres, where you can relax and unwind between excursions.
Known for its excellent skiing and snowboarding opportunities, with a wide range of slopes to suit all levels of ability, Val d’Isere is part of the acclaimed Espace Killy ski area, which also includes the neighbouring resort of Tignes. In addition to Alpine skiing and snowboarding, Val d'Isere also offers a range of other winter activities, including ice skating, tobogganing, and freestyle ski parks.

The Resort
Val d’Isere is the oldest of the French ski resorts and a gleaming icon at the end of the valley where the residential town lies. Surrounded by what is arguably some of the most beautiful mountain landscape in the world, the chalet village is centred around a charming baroque church. It’s a lovely place for wandering, taking in the cosy atmosphere and spending quality time with your favourite people.
Val d’Isere is composed of three skiing sections. These are La Daille, Val d’Isere centre and Le Fornet, all of which are linked by a free shuttle service. Alongside Tignes, the resort is part of a wider ski area known as Espace Killy, and a lift pass will get you access to its entirety. Ski season in both resorts stretches as long as May.
Thanks to its high altitude, Val d’Isere is probably your most snow sure option for skiing in the French Alps. The village rests at 1850 metres and its peak on top of the La Grande Motte glacier is 3456 metres high. Sixty per cent of the resort’s pistes are set above 2200 metres, meaning that the skiing is consistently good but on rare occasions, bad weather can cause the slopes to close. It’s also important to keep in mind that Val d’Isere isn’t the best choice if you’re just finding your feet on the snow, and beginners may well find themselves challenged. On the flipside, Val d’Isere is one of the top choices for experienced skiers and snowboarders, with plenty of challenging black runs (such as the iconic Face the Bellevarde, where the 1992 Olympic men’s downhill was run).
And to go with some of the most exciting and picturesque skiing in France, down in the village you’ll find some amazing bars and restaurants. What better way to celebrate conquering that tricky black run than by indulging in some equally entertaining après-ski? On the mountain itself, you can start your evening with DJ’s and live music at La Folie Douce until the lifts close and then work your way into town.

Val d'Isere is a popular ski resort, with a wide range of slopes and trails for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities, including a fun-packed freestyle ski park for the more adventurous amongst you. There are also many other winter activities to enjoy, including snowshoe tours, snow tubing and zip lining, and snowmobiling.
In the resort itself, kids can find their feet on the impressive ice rink or take it easy with a movie at the local cinema.
