Overview

Ski Chalet Wellness Self-Catered Ideal for Kids Hot Tub Walk to Village Parking Space

Welcome to Chalet Face! Nestled in tranquil Meribel Village, this luxurious 6-bedroom family chalet accommodates 12 guests. It’s part of the Les Allues valley, one of the largest and most sought-after ski areas in the world.  Thanks to its enviable location, you’re only minutes from trendy stores and rolling pistes of the 3 Valleys.

The chalet is a stylistic brainchild of its English owners and famed architect, Rémi Giffon. Composed of locally sourced wood, stone and wool, it combines the storybook charm of the Alps with the luxuries of modern living.

The sprawling outdoor deck offers uninterrupted views of snowy peaks and lush pine forests. After a long day on the slopes, pamper yourself in the leisure area. Take a refreshing dip in the outdoor jacuzzi and detox your exhausted body in the sauna. There is also a whirlpool bathtub and Italian-style shower.

The living room comprises two sections. One is the TV corner with a Sky TV and Blu-ray player. Catch up on your favourite shows, while making yourself comfortable on the fur seats.  The other section is furnished with comfy grey sofas and many pieces imported from England. Bask in the warmth of the cracking fireplace and exchange stories from your day with loved ones. Curtains and headboards are made of Arpin — a local French mountain wool, ensuring extra warmth and comfort.

For those working remotely, there’s free Wi-Fi.

Enjoy cosy meals at the large dining table. If you’re visiting with toddlers, you can request highchairs from the staff. The kitchen is spacious and fully furnished, with glossy countertops and wooden cabinetry. It includes a fridge, freezer, dishwasher and dryer.

The chalet is equipped with a ski locker, boots heater, laundry room and ample parking space. Make use of the iron and ironing board to look your best at all times.

All bedrooms are fully furnished, with graceful interiors. The children’s bedroom on the ground floor is most exciting. It features a bunk bed and two single beds. It’s connected to a TV den, which has a DVD player and coloured armchairs. Snuggle inside for hours of indoor entertainment.  A backlit photograph of neighbouring forests adds to the cosiness of the room. Also on the ground floor, a twin bedroom has two single beds, a wardrobe and en-suite bathroom.

The master bedroom is on the first floor. It’s provided with a double bed, wardrobe and en-suite bathroom. Step onto the private balcony and take in panoramic views. The remaining two bedrooms are on the same floor. One features a double bed, while the other has two single beds —which can be turned into a double bed. Both bedrooms have a private balcony, wardrobe and en-suite bathroom.

To make your stay as comfortable as possible, the chalet takes great pride in its ultra-efficient and courteous housekeeping staff. If you're visiting during the winter season, you're greeted with champagne and a welcome basket. A friendly housekeeper is available for daily room maintenance. Beds are made before your arrival, and you’re given a fresh supply of linen and indoor slippers. End-of-stay cleaning is also included.

The chalet is located in Meribel — a wildly coveted ski resort in the Valley of Allues. With over 600 kilometres of tree-lined pistes, it’s hailed as one of the largest ski areas in the world.

When it comes to winter sports activities, you're spoiled for choices. The mesmerising slopes of Mont Vallon, the Plattieres, the Tougnete and the Saulire are second to none. High-powered, ultra-modern ski lifts allow easy transportation back and forth.

The chalet provides easy connection to chic boutiques, gastronomical adventures, magical fireworks and trendy nightspots. Take the Olympe gondola lift or the bus to the throbbing Meribel Centre. Adrenaline junkies should try out activities such as snowshoeing, dog sledging and heliskiing.

Even if you encounter bad weather, there’s no rain on your parade. The Olympic Park by La Chaudanne offers a 25-metre swimming pool, fitness centre, spa and climbing walls. Explore La Chaudanne and stop by its myriad of shops, eclectic restaurants and cosy pubs. From gourmet fare to pocket-friendly options, you're promised a gastronomical adventure. Grab lunch on the terrace of La Cantine d'Alvar, against a magnificent backdrop of Mont Vallon. Sample aromatic Indian dishes in Tsaretta Spice and creamy fondues in La Fromagerie.

Go hiking on the 25 kms trails around the valley, which boast jaw-dropping natural beauty. Witness charming villages, frozen lakes and majestic peaks. Post 3 pm every day, enjoy dazzling cabaret acts, singing performances and dancers in extravagant costumes at La Folie Douce Méribel-Courchevel.

Don't miss the quaint, fairy tale- like ambience of Meribel Village, which is at a small distance from Meribel Centre. A cocoon of tranquillity, it’s perched at an altitude of 1400 metres. Witness its beautiful wooden and stone chalets. Visit its rustic chapel and feel like you have stepped into the pages of history. The village square is a township unto itself, with a free car parking, supermarket, bakery, sports shop and two restaurants. Enjoy traditional Savoyard cuisine and French gourmet at these. Listen to live music après ski at Lodge du Village.

The Resort

Méribel is a village with a true alpine heart. You won’t find blocks of hotels and purpose-built facilities here. Instead, the compact and lively town centre is picture-postcard perfect, and its atmosphere is quaint and fairytale-like. It is without a doubt the most romantic resort in the area and if you’re planning a couples holiday in the snow you’ll definitely want to take a closer look at Méribel.

At the centre of the world famous Trois Vallées (Three Valleys), Méribel makes up part of the largest ski domain in the world. Across the valleys, it has six sister resorts. You can either get a single-resort lift pass and keep to the fantastic beginner and intermediate terrain there, but you also have the option of purchasing a pass that covers the whole area.

The advanced lift system at Méribel will let you maximise your time on the snow and make sure you’re not waiting around in queues. With 67 runs to try out just in the resort itself, there is no time to be wasted. Just beware of the afternoon sun cutting things short on the west-facing slopes and prepare to get up with the sun if you’re after untouched powder. At it’s highest skiing point Méribel reaches an altitude of 2952 metres and the descent from this point is known to be one of the most scenic runs around.

Aside from the world-class skiing, Méribel is also known to be one of the liveliest resorts in the Three Valleys. Many of its residents and bar-owners (as well as plenty of its visitors) are expat-Brits who certainly know how to party. The après-ski scene here is truly top-notch!

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

The chalet promises a gala time for kids. They can build snowmen, play-fight with snowballs and indulge in a variety of activities like hiking, horse riding and cycling.

After a long day outdoors, they can retire to their bedroom and spend hours in the adjoining TV den. Put on their favourite flicks on the Blu-ray or play a round of board games. Treat them to warm bubble baths in the luxurious tub. If you wish to arrange for highchairs or baby cots, our staff will be happy to help.

The chalet is at a striking distance from nursery slopes, delightful ice-skating rinks and other kid-friendly winter activities. The staff will be happy to help you with details about ski schools and kid-friendly ski areas in the neighbourhood.

Meribel is a joyland for the entire family, with many activities specially designed for kids. Head to Olympic Park and go ice skating on the rink. There is also a bowling alley with some lanes specifically built for kids over the age of three. Rejoice hours of splashy fun in the indoor swimming pool, which includes a kids’ section.

In the evenings, bundle into the Cinéma du Mottaret and watch classic children's films with packs of buttery popcorn. Take a memorable hot air balloon ride over snowy forests and jagged peaks at Courchevel Altiport, which is about 45 mins by car from Meribel Centre. Your kids will love taking pictures and sending their social media into a tizzy.

Little ones have big appetites on holidays. There are plenty of options close to the resort that will satisfy their every need. At Rond Point restaurant, they can enjoy the best ice cream sundaes in town. For something savoury, dip into a bowl of cheesy fondue at La Fromagerie.
