The bright and cheerful Quinta Sao Domingos boasts five gorgeous bedrooms sleeping up to ten guests. It is situated in the glorious Portuguese countryside, very close to the tiny, charming village of Aldeia do Meco with its lovely cafes and restaurants as well its unspoilt sweep of golden sand, flanked by low-rise cliffs. On the northern end, the stunning Lagoa de Albufeira is a picture-postcard, beach flanked by an attractive lagoon popular for windsurfing and paddleboarding. Aldeia do Meco is in the nature park of Arrabida and is famous for its good seafood restaurants. Quinta Sao Domingos is 40km from the gorgeous, cosmopolitan city of Lisbon and 9km from Sesimbra.
This lovely, welcoming villa is very spacious, inside and out. The garden is mature and beautiful. The swimming pool is 9m x 5m with a delightful terrace, many sun loungers and an outside bathroom with a shower and toilet. There is also a covered alfresco dining terrace and a charcoal barbecue for delicious summer dinners. You will very quickly relax at Quinta Sao Domingos.
The ground floor is home to a modern, very well equipped, glossy kitchen, an immaculate open-plan living and dining room with a feature fireplace, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate toilet. The whole villa boasts massive windows and doors, so it is bright and airy. The two downstairs bedrooms are comprised of one double and one twin. The twin bedroom is huge and opens directly to the terrace.
Upstairs, there is a double bedroom suite with a walk-in shower in the en-suite bathroom, a pretty twin bedroom and a small double bedroom as well as another contemporary bathroom. Quinta Sao Domingos is very well maintained and is located in a fabulous position for a wonderful holiday.

About the surrounding area of Quinta Sao DomingosThe villa is situated 3km from the beautiful Meco Beach and 2km from the delightful village of Alfarim. Alfarim has a range of shops, a bakery, butcher, bank and supermarkets. The area is fantastic for food lovers, beach lovers and those that enjoy hiking, biking or horseriding in the great outdoors. Golf lovers will be very happy that there are five excellent courses within easy reach, including the popular Quinta do Peru Golf. Aroeira, Montado, Santo Estevao and Troia are a little further away.
Meco Beach is within the fabulous Serra da Arrabida National Park where you will find many hiking and biking trails. There is often something going on at Meco Beach. You will find watersports on offer as well as several bars and cafes. Biscas Beach is not far away and is popular with surfers. Lagoa de Albufeira is very popular with windsurfers and stand-up paddleboarders. You can often float from the beach down to the lovely warm lagoon.
Sesimbra is a fantastic destination for tourists seeking an authentic Portuguese holiday. It is famous for its buzzy and atmospheric fish market, the freshly cooked seafood served at the family-run Marisqueira restaurants and the fabulous, pristine beaches. The picturesque Portinho da Arrabida coastline is stunning and popular for kayaking trips and diving. The Cabo Espichel is a wild and exposed cliff headland boasting incredible views, a unique church, lighthouse and two sets of dinosaur footprints.
The Azeitao area includes various characteristic villages, in particular, Vila Fresca and Vila Nogueira. The area provides the opportunity to taste the excellent regional cheeses, tarts and wines made from the Periquita grapes and the famous Moscatel of Sebutal. Wine lovers should definitely visit Azeitao. The wine cellar of Jose Maria de Fonseca is over 200 years old. It is still run by the same family. Quinta de Bacalhoa is one of the largest wine cellars owned by Jose Berardo, a well-known art collector and one of the richest men in Portugal. You have the chance to visit the beautiful palace adjoining the vineyards which is filled to the brim with incredible works of art. You need to take a photograph of the grape fountain when visiting Azeitao.

THE REGION
Set on a curving turquoise bay just 40 km south of Lisbon, Sesimbra is both an attractive fishing town and a popular tourist resort within easy reach of the capital. Sesimbra is one of the finest beach resorts in Portugal. It is adored by the Portuguese who flock to the region for their holidays, drawn by the pristine beached, relaxed atmosphere and outstanding seafood restaurants.
Near Sesimbra, there are the beaches of the Arrábida Natural Park, which are considered among the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. The most famous one is Praia do Figueirinha, a long sandy shore kissed by calm and crystalline waters.
The outstanding beaches and tourist attractions make Sesimbra an enjoyable family holiday. Around the region, there is much to visit, like Cabo Espichel headland or a scenic drive through the Arrabida hills and a visit to the paradise beaches of the Portinho de Arrabida.

Best Suited For: All AgesQuinta Sao Domingos is ideal for a family holiday. It is very comfortable, spacious and boasts a lovely garden and pool. The location is excellent, in the countryside and close to fabulous beaches. Meco, Lagoa de Albufeira, Bicas Beach, Praia da California, Praia dos Galapinhos, Portinho de Arrbida and Praia do Creiro are excellent beaches in the area. Some offer watersports including windsurfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkelling and diving.
At Sesimbra, you can hike up to the Castelo de Sesimbra and enjoy the wonderful panoramic views of the town. Thrill-seekers can also book a Coasteering Vertente Natural tour where guests progress along the coastline scrambling, swimming, climbing, rappelling, ziplining and cliff jumping into the water. You can also join a dolphin watching boat tour, searching for bottlenose dolphins which live in the Sado Estuary.
The Badoca Safari Park is located in Vila Nova de Santo Andre. It offers an unforgettable experience with a safari, meeting giraffes, interaction with lemurs and a falconry experience. You can walk through the African forest and enjoy the spectacle of colours of the African birds. There is also a family water rafting adventure. It is a great day out and makes a change from the beach.
Of course, children will love a visit to the buzzy, picturesque city of Lisbon. The excellent zoo boasts dolphin and sea lion shows, reptile and snake houses, aviaries and a cute petting farm. Animax is an adventure park next door. Lisbon’s Oceanarium boasts a huge collection of marine species including penguins, sea otters, sharks, rays, chimaeras, sea horses, starfish, sea urchins, octopuses and jellyfish. Children love riding the colourful, rickety trams, and it is great being on the waterfront.

We were very pleased
We were very happy. Big house, quiet, nice pool, etc... Close to beautiful beaches so very good stay for us.

Fantastic Pool
Very spacious house, old but remodeled. The outside space is also quite spacious and a magnificent pool, large and with a good depth. The room could have some interior blinds on the side windows, it was very hot the week we spent there and at lunch time it was very hot in the living room. Overall it was a great week.

Quiet to the sound of birds
Quiet and reserved environment, shaded by cork trees and the sound of birds singing all day. Barbecue grill works very well. Well maintained pool.

Very happy overall
A lot of room in the property, we found the stairs to be a bit dangerous especially with small children but were able to "fix" the problem by moving furniture around. Equipment and amenities are nice, swimming pool is clean and big, barbecue works great. At the time of our rental the sunshade near the pool were a little bit worn and it would be nice to see new ones, other than that we really much enjoyed the stay, as others have mentioned you do hear dogs barking at night in the distance, not really a problem for us. even sleeping with open windows.
