Location
About the surrounding area of Villa BloscaThe golden sands of Praia Grande are less than a 10-minute drive away from Villa Bloscsa and a short drive from Sintra and Cascais. The water here is shallow, making it especially ideal for children wanting to go for a swim. Due to the strong waves, it’s a favourite spot for surfing, and you can have a go at this and a range of other water sports.
It’s an ideal place for a day out by the sea with the family as there are plenty of amenities available, such as cafés, bars and toilets. During low tide, you can reach the neighbouring beach of Praia Pena.
Praia Grande is part of Sintra-Cascais Natural Park - and you can see how it blends into this wild area with the rugged cliffs that back the beach. At the top of the cliffs are many walking paths, including a trail of fossilised dinosaur footprints that are utterly fascinating.
You can enjoy a day out within Sintra-Cascais Natural Park after just a 10-minute drive from the villa. Within the forest-covered mountains are pastel-coloured palaces that soar majestically above the treetops.
One of the most beautiful to visit is Pena National Palace, a 19th-century Romanticist structure built upon the ruins of an ancient monastery on the top of a hill. The palace is a beautiful and atmospheric place to explore, and the views from its grounds are breathtaking.
The traditional fishing town of Cascais is around a 35-minute drive away and offers the chance to soak up local daily life and culture. There are also plenty of attractions to visit, including the Condes de Castro Guimarães museum that displays furniture and art from a private collection of an early 20th-century Irish millionaire.

THE REGION
Thinking about packing your bags and heading off to Portugal? Why not give Colares a go? A real gem of a place, it’s one of the best spots on the Lisbon Coast for a holiday. Colares is absolutely delightful and has long been a very popular summer resort.
In the environs of Colares are the beaches of Praia das Maças, Praia Grande and Adraga, and the typical village of Azenhas do Mar, with its whitewashed houses inset in the side of a cliff.
Colares is also a demarcated wine-growing region, producing the very popular and increasingly rare Colares wine, which can be tasted at the Adega Regional, in a very beautiful building in the town centre.
ABOUT THE LISBON COAST
The Lisbon Coast is a sensational stretch of golden beaches, wave-lashed cliffs and vibrant seaside towns – but there's more to the Atlantic coastline than that. Delve beneath the surface to discover hidden coves, family-owned seafood restaurants and pristine natural parks.
The coast around Lisbon provides an easy, breezy escape from the capital, whose proximity has made it the stomping ground of kings for the last 1,000 years. In summer, Lisboistas stream into elegant Comporta and Cascais to escape the heat of the city; year-round, surfers hang loose on the coast, waiting for the rollers to crash down on the sand.
But while you're enjoying one of our fantastic villas on Lisbon Coast, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we've put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!

Nice holiday
Very pleasant week in this nice and well located villa. Thanks to Paulo for the welcome and availability.

We really enjoyed our stay in Colares
The house offers everything we needed as a large family with 5 adults and 3 children. The garden with "the wilderness" behind the house was ideal for the children and also the pool was very suitable and pleasant for them (for learning to swim), as it was heated. Situated between Sintra and the sea, the house is a good starting point for various excursions. Without a car, however, there is not much to do.

15 days stay
Villa very functional, clean, well placed with everything necessary to spend a good family stay!
We had to bring all the necessary things for the beach (parasol, games for children ...) and some brochures to help us and save time for the nice places to see nearby.
But really an excellent stay that I recommend !!! -
Very pleasant stay
The house is very pleasant, only small downside the size of the pool a little small but huge advantage it is heated. The house is well equipped and otherwise everything else was perfect. The neighbourhood where the house is located is very nice. The small town of Colarés is 10 minutes away by car. We will return with pleasure.
