About the surrounding area of Villa GenoveviaAt just twenty-five kilometres from Lisbon, Villa Genovevia offers an accessible rural idyll. The closest beaches are a mere two kilometres away - Praia Fonte da Telha is known for its golden sands.
Within the resort, guests have access to two 18-hole championship golf courses. There are a further four tennis courts, spa, health centre and playground as well as restaurants and all amenities. This array of on-site facilities makes for such a relaxed stay - guests need not worry about running out of basics, or for a last-minute change of dinner plans the bars and restaurant provide excellent local cuisine.
Aroeira boasts a stretch of thirty kilometres of the finest beaches in Portugal; whether it be the lively and buzzing beach at the village of Costa da Caparica, to the more wild and rugged beaches at the southern end of the stretch, visitors will not be short of choice.
This region of Portugal is ideal for water sports enthusiasts, whether it be canoeing, snorkelling, diving or surfing, the area is a water lovers paradise.
The beauty of the Lisbon coast is that it provides a breezy escape from the capital, whilst being home to some of Portugal’s historic jewels, which attract thousands of visitors: the ancient walled town of Obidos, the 12th century monastery at at Alcobaca, the Catholic pilgrimage site of Fatima, and the fairy tale palaces of Sintra.
Lisbon itself is a vibrant and colourful city with a fascinating history; the city is rich with museums, monuments and a lively waterfront with bars and many restaurants showcasing a blend of traditional and contemporary architecture.
There are many attractive towns to visit along the Lisbon coast, such as the beautiful former fishing village of Cascais, the dynamic resort town of Estoril, or the surfer’s paradise Carcavelos or romantic town of Sintra.

THE REGION
Only 25 km from Lisbon, located in a protected pine woodland and close to the coastal town of Caparica, Aroeira is a unique estate comprising two golf courses. Aroeira offers golfers the perfect combination of a championship course set amidst exuberant natural surroundings.
The closest beach from Aroeira is Fonte de Telha. It is a pretty good spot for Surfers, and you will also find several choices of beach bars and restaurants to go to. The beach also offers free showers located right at the entrance near the main path in front of the parking spaces and the mini market.

Best Suited For: All AgesThe pine forests surrounding Villa Genovevia provide the perfect setting for families with children to enjoy nature and walks, likewise, there is a great choice of wonderful beaches very close by.
Children will enjoy the green open gardens with the gorgeous pool, ideal for afternoons of splashy fun or playing on the lawns. Older children will take comfort in the fact that there is access to Wi-Fi, satellite TV and DVD player when “downtime” is needed. Likewise, the games room is well equipped and will keep teens and older children occupied.
The villa is well set up for families, with options for twin beds, a very large couple of baths, and family-oriented open plan living, children of all ages will have their needs met.
For those keen on tennis, the complex has four tennis courts. The region is rich with opportunity for outdoor pursuits, whether this be trekking, horse riding or an array of water sports, there will be so many options for youngsters in the group.
The outdoor dining spaces are ideal for family groups, and the barbecue will certainly be a hit!
Boat trips on the Sado Estuary - the river that separates the regional capital of Setubal from the Troja Peninsula - a tapestry of silvery salt flats and aquamarine water are a great family activity. Children will delight in the flocks of flamingos and dolphins who hunt and breed in its fish rich waters.
Grutas de Mire da Aire boasts vast caves beneath the town; children will find this a mystical experience. Giant stalactites and stalagmites all with eccentric names are illuminated by eery lighting! Little imaginations will be set alight here!
The convenience of the wider resort complex along with the striking natural beauty of the local region make this spot an ideal choice for families with children of all ages.
