Casa Palhais is located in the stunning region of Aroeira, a location that is becoming extremely popular with experienced travellers. If you are looking to discover one of Aroeira’s most famous landmarks, Rua Augusta Arch is a must-see attraction. This looming arch was first built in the mid-18th century after a turbulent earthquake destroyed a majority of the city. This building was meant to be a bell tower, but designers kept on adding arches throughout its lifetime. Guests are encouraged to travel to the top of the building and observe the striking beauty of the Baxia District that sits below. In fact, this monument has only been open to the public since 2013, making it a relatively new attraction. Rua Augusta Arch can be found just over 30-minutes away from the centre of the region.

The Murder Mystery Exploration Game is a unique way for tourists to discover the nuances and features of Lisbon’s Old Town. The game requires guests to use their smartphones to help them embody the character of a private investigator who is looking to solve the mysterious death of a famous local singer. Throughout the game, guests will be asked to complete an array of complex puzzles and riddles to acquire new pieces of information about the case. There are multiple languages available, including English, Portuguese, and Spanish, making it an accessible experience for tourists. The Murder Mystery Exploration Game starts at the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceicao, which is located about half an hour away.

Benfica Stadium is an iconic landmark for any football fan and is based around 30-minutes away from the centre of Aroeira. This monument is well recognised for hosting the Champions League Final in both 2014 and 2020. The stadium also offers an expansive tour of its grounds, allowing tourists to learn more about how the building is kept at such a high standard. Guests can also gain a sneak peek at artefacts from their favourite players, creating an unforgettable experience. There is also a small museum located on-site that showcases a plethora of official documents and memorabilia. Tickets for this tour can be purchased on Benfica Stadium’s official website.

Reviews

  • Could not recommend the villa enough to families

    on 02/09/2022

We had a lovely stay at the villa, it was an amazing plot to stay with the family from the pool to the BBQ area we had a lovely time. The villa was really clean and had everything we needed, shops and bars were close by which helped and we were only a 20 minute taxi ride from Lisbon centre. On coming into Portugal our flight had been delayed by 4 hours so we arrived at the villa at 2am which was not planned however Manuela the villa host was excellent in accommodating for this and was so helpful with anything we needed during our stay. Could not recommend the villa enough to family’s who want to be close to the centre of Lisbon but out of the way too.

  • A nice place to rent with your friends

    on 27/08/2022

I would gladly recommend this house if you are looking for a nice place to rent with your friend. Great swimming pool, the house is ideally located, enough household equipments… Nonetheless, I would not recommend it if you are looking for a quiet place to rest as the surroundings can be very loudy (dogs barking late at night and early in the morning, roadworks, building construction and a lot of cars passing (here again late at night and early in the morning).

  • Would definitely recommend this villa

    on 06/07/2022

We really enjoyed our stay at this property it has everything one needs. loved the private pool and bbq area had everything even a fridge freezer. Property was very clean and very comfortable and spacious with big bedrooms. 5 min walk to shops and restaurants, banks and pharmacy. 2 min walk to nearest cafe. great location. but to go to big supermarkets and beach definitely need a car. however Uber works very well so not much of a problem only at peak times. Would definitely recommend this villa and would definitely return. Thank you to the Manger who was very gracious and hospitable and at your disposal for any questions and quick with response. Only thing was it would be good to have double beds instead of all single beds.
