A spacious villa with a truly elegant look, Moradia Benfarras is surrounded by greenery and just five minutes’ drive from the marina at exclusive Vilamoura. A large lawn garden and swimming pool can be found at this luxurious Algarve townhouse, situated within easy reach of Vilamoura’s many golf courses.

The house can sleep up to eight guests in its four bedrooms, all of which have their own en-suite facilities, including two with a bath. Two of the bedrooms on the first floor also have direct access to a balcony overlooking the pool and gardens, and all benefit from air-conditioning.

The other rooms of the house are well-equipped too, including the beautiful lounge and dining room, which has a large LCD television with satellite channels and DVD. Patio doors lead you straight out to the garden. The kitchen is complemented by a separate utility room on the lower ground floor with washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a garage and table tennis table on this level.

The outside space is another highlight, with areas to sit and dine either undercover or in the sun. There are sun loungers, a barbecue and, of course, the pool which is just perfect for a dip first thing in the morning or late at night.

It only takes a few minutes to reach the centre of Vilamoura, the glamorous marina area with its cool bars, restaurants and stores. You could spend all day shopping for designer items or enjoying drinks at the likes of Bar Sete on the waterfront. Serious golfers will know Vilamoura is the place to go for numerous championship courses, but it’s equally good for doing nothing more than enjoying a massage or relaxing to the sound of something suitably chilled.

Moradia Benfarras is only 23km from Faro Airport, so getting there is no problem. Once you arrive, most of the things you need are within a short stroll, with a coffee shop, health club and supermarket less than a kilometre from the house. There are two beaches in Vilamoura, Praia da Marina and Praia da Falésia, around 4km away – just part of what makes this resort so special.

Vilamoura has developed into one of the Algarve’s most prestigious and popular resorts, purpose-built for visitors and full of things to attract them. Around 30 minutes’ drive from Faro Airport, it’s easy to access and sits roughly halfway along Portugal’s southern coast.

Its huge marina is the centre of the action, lined not only with yachts but bars, restaurants and designer shops. Vilamoura certainly attracts the wealthy and the famous, but retains a relaxed atmosphere and feels surprisingly peaceful given its popularity. It’s easy to go exploring by bike or on foot, or take a boat trip – although some will simply be drawn to the resort’s fine beaches or the many nearby golf courses.

The Resort

Vilamoura has been a glamorous town ever since Roman time. Its rich history is still palpable as you walk its streets, coming upon Roman Baths and ancient murals all around town. These days, Vilamoura is still a high-class destination although it has certainly kept up with the times. Yachts dock at the large marina and travellers galavant the seaside strip hopping between bars, restaurants and the dazzling casino. The local championship courses naturally attract a crowd of golf enthusiasts as well, and there is a large selection of other sports to enjoy in the area (including those best played out in the water). There is certainly no need to ever be bored in Vilamoura, but if it’s ultimate relaxation you’re after you won’t be disappointed. The town is alluringly close to Praia da Marina and Praia de Falesia, where the golden sand and hot Mediterranean sun is just about never-ending.
