What you should know…
- Although there is a restaurant, supermarket and beach all within walking distance of the villa, a car is recommended to reach more of Sagres’ compelling and laid-back beauty
- One of the bedrooms makes use of bunk beds and comes complete with table tennis, so may be best suited to younger visitors
- The outside space is on the small side, however, the beach is only a few hundered meters away

About the surrounding area of Villa ValentiaThe captivating Algarve region is situated nearby, a favorite part of sunny Portugal famed for its coats overlooking Atlantic beaches and idyllic fishing villages.
The Algarve is famous for its pottery and ceramics, enriched with hand-painted pottery and ceramic tiles. You will be able to visit pottery and ceramic workshops located in the neighbouring towns of Porches, Almancil and Loulé.
Particularly worth visiting is the iconic Sagres Point, located only 500m away in Sagres. Ancient geographers believed the point to be the most westerly point of the "whole inhabited world," and today it is widely regarded as ‘The End of the World.’
Here, you can blissfully take in breathtaking views and stare in awe at the whole of the Sagres region. The area was the site of Henry the Navigator's 15th-century fortress and also the Rosa dos Ventos, a compass laid out on the ground representing the Earth’s cardinal points.
At the end, you will discover the alluring small 16th chapel of Nossa Senhora da Graça as well as a gift shop, an adorable small café and an exhibition room dedicated to the historical impact of the area. Sagres Point has been visited by many of history’s most prominent explorers, including Christopher Columbus.
This historic town offers a market only 500m from the villa. It occurs on every first Friday of the month from nine in the morning until two in the afternoon. At this gipsy market, you can bargain your way into getting clothing, jewellery, antiques or some typical Portuguese snacks at the tasty food stalls.

THE REGION
Sagres sits at the southwestern tip of the beautiful Algarve coast, where it calls out to holidaymakers looking to get a little bit closer to nature. The town and its surroundings are perfectly tranquil, making this destination ideal for those travelling with children who best enjoy beach and outdoor fun.
The town is inviting and personable, but it’s certainly not the liveliest spot on the coast. Sagres mostly has its seaside location to thank for being a hub among avid surfers, who bring life to an otherwise sleepy village.
Barely a stone’s throw from its centre, you’ll come across plenty of lovely and sheltered beaches, where you can relax in the sun and soak in the stillness. Since the area is much less crowded than central Algarve, you couldn’t find a better place for that laid-back getaway you’ve been longing for.

Older children have the option of partaking in the many water sports available at nearby beaches or have a game on the tennis courts, located only 2km away.
They can see all of Sagres’ many inhabitants at Lagos zoo, 30km from Villa Valentia.
The zoo houses habitats for birds, mammals and reptiles while providing a delicious Portuguese restaurant.

A Greateful Retreat!
We were a group of nine for a 6-night stay at this wonderful villa. There is so much space for everybody. Very clean, good location and is a short walk to Intermarché supermarket. The pool was well-maintained and clean. The house rep Maria was always in close contact if we needed to ask for anything and was very friendly. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we need to cook at home.

Highly recommended
Villa Valentia was the perfect base for our holiday in Sagres, with spacious bedrooms and great outdoor spaces for us to hang out and enjoy the beautiful sunny weather. We really loved the pool, which was quite warm even in October, and the outdoor BBQ area was great for the evenings. Maria was a helpful and welcoming host - she even came out at 1am to meet us on our arrival!

Less than a 10 minutes walk from the beach. Very close to intermarche, petrol stations and restaurants. The villa was very clean, it looked as though it was brand new and we were the first ones to use it. The villa is very spacious with a massive garden. Any queries were always replied to immediately. Would definitely stay again.
