What you should know…
- While Benagil’s sea-caves are spectacular, caution is advised for inexperienced swimmers as they can be difficult to navigate. Guides are strongly recommended
- The Algarve boasts some of the most beautiful and tranquil beaches in Europe. With this in mind, we recommend that you book early to ensure your place on this covetable coastline
- With so much to see and plenty or historic towns dotted along the coast, car rental is recommended to those travelling with family and friends. Why not do as the locals do and pack a picnic for al fresco dining by the sea

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa NelinhaThe unique beauty of the Algarve is world renowned with its ochre cliffs, turquoise waters and white sand beaches; it is the picture-perfect place for any beachside getaway. But the Algarve is deeply cultured and rich with history, too, making this a region of hidden depths and unforgettable delights.
Situated on the cusp of the Atlantic with an unmistakably mild-Mediterranean climate, the Algarve is punctuated with a wild beauty that is so often associated the ocean - carved limestone rock and dramatic, rugged cliffs and yet the atmosphere encourages a way of life that is mellow and leisurely.
There are two Algarves and two interconnecting ways of life; that of the mountains and that of the ocean. Enveloped by the hills of Monchique that host tiny, white-washed villages, the pace of life can be slow and the streets almost timeless.
Here, it is distinctly right that what’s to eat is dictated by this season’s offerings. The Algarve’s spectacular climate offers up a bounty of delicious wines and juicy olives to keep you going until dinner.
By the sea, it is impossible to exaggerate the joy of watching dolphins swim across secluded bays and fishers return with their daily catch from a cliff top, aperitivo in hand as the sun sets on this unique corner of the world and on this beguiling way of life.
Come to swim in the crystal-clear waters of a warm Atlantic and stay for the hidden charm discovered one day at a time. The Algarve will continue to tempt you back, and very few can resist.

THE REGION
Carvoeiro has always been known for its beautiful coastline, adorned with cliffs, coves and incredible sandy beaches stretching all the way along to Albufeira. These days, however, there is a lot more going on in this charming town than just waves hitting the sand (although that’s certainly still a highlight).
In the past few years Carvoeiro has developed to accommodate for the growing number of tourists who are curious to see what the fuzz is all about, and the town continues to get livelier and livelier each summer. While it has kept its character and remains exquisitely peaceful, there are also plenty of modern amenities and loads of exciting activities in the area. The only thing Carvoeiro won’t provide is a good party, but there are other parts of the Algarve which are perfect for that.
ABOUT THE ALGARVE
Though most people tend to see the Algarve as all about the beaches and a holiday on the Med, there’s far much more to it than that.
But while you’re enjoying one of our fantastic villas in Algarve, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we’ve put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesThe quaint fishing cove of Benagil is the perfect retreat for families with children. Small enough to navigate easily yet big enough that there’s plenty of fun for all the family from toddlers to teenagers, let Benagil take care of you all.
With two exquisite beaches a mere 100m away, a day’s paddling and swimming in our blue flag beaches is the perfect starting point to exploring the area with youngsters in tow. Traditional taverns and contemporary cafés offer delicious respite from the sea and sand, as do an abundance of parasols for napping under blue skies.
For adventurous spirits there’s water-skiing, kite-surfing, beach volleyball and horse riding to name but a few activities. A short drive away is the kid’s absolute favourite Zoomarine waterpark, for a day of gentle thrill seeking and endless fun.
