Are you looking for something a little special? Look no further than Villa Aldijana. This colossal property is 300 years old with all the charisma and character you’d expect. A historical building that has been transformed into a luxury holiday home, you’ll be situated on a hill overlooking the beautiful Budva Riviera, Montenegro. Are you seeking privacy, peace, and prosperity? This enchanting rustic stone villa is bounded by verdant greenery and is ideal for family adventures or romantic escapism.

Located in Budva, Montenegro, your villa can house six guests between its two comfortable bedrooms and three modern and spacious bathrooms. The dramatic sweep of the exterior is formidable and striking, whilst the inside is luxuriously modern while retaining some of its traditional rustic elements and themes for added atmosphere, such as stone walls. Here you can truly feel like Lord or Lady of the manner. With rich wood tones present throughout, these are contrasted by the bright bedrooms, which boast astonishing views and a refreshing pop of colour.

The living room, always an ideal place to congregate, contains a sectional sofa with reclining headrests for optimal relaxation and comfort. Besides this is your terrace, which is truly something to behold at any time but is especially delightful at sunrise and sunset. You’ll be awed and inspired by the truly magnificent views.

Kitchens are another optimal gathering place, especially in the Mediterranean, where much of the culture and family time is traditionally centred around food. The large kitchen is both lovely and functional and boasts a million-dollar view. This is a highlight of your home if you cook, eat, or take in the scenery and surroundings with a glass of wine.

The selling point and pièce de résistance of this property is the infinity-style pool with hydro massage. Small in stature, it’s wonderful to be immersed in water whilst outside in the bliss of the natural world. Another unique feature of the property is its wine cellar.

Your property also contains a smart TV and a small library. You can also make use of the free Wi-Fi connection. There’s even underfloor heating to keep you warm and cosy during the cooler months.

It’s hard to define the magnificence and glory of this property. Everything about this villa is utterly unique, from its decadent exterior, pleasant gardens, rolling green views, and vibrant green interior walls merged with ancient brick. The feel is one of lavish comfort, a glimmer of the old world with startling modernity throughout. There’s also a beautiful sense of the outside being inside with the creeping plants and ragged walls.

Welcome to grandeur, welcome to grace, and welcome to a fascinating fusion of old and new. Welcome to Villa Aldijana.

Montenegro is small in size but that doesn’t stop it from being an unforgettable destination that will forever ensnare your senses. The most startling thing about Montenegro is its fantastic geographical landscapes – you might expect pretty beaches and swimmable seas, and this you’ll get. But the area is also known for its dynamic mountain regions. There’s a wilderness about Montenegro that makes it romantic, sultry, and decadent in a captivating way, whilst also being family friendly, welcoming, and comfortable. It’s a country of contrasts.

You’ll be situated on a hill overlooking the beautiful Budva Riviera, Montenegro. Here, you can feel like an aristocrat or feel as though you’ve been transported to another world. In fact, if it weren’t for the lime green walls and pop of lemon, you might be forgiven for thinking that you’d been teleported to a fictional fantasy world such as you might find in Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones.

On your doorstep is Budva, peppered with beaches, a quaint and delightful Old Town which serves as its soul, and amazing Roman-era ruins. You might wish to venture forward to Skadar Lake – a true sight to behold or embark on a cultural tour of some of Montenegro’s most idyllic places, such as Cetinje and Njegusi as well as the picture-perfect Bay of Kotor.

Life along the coast is sleepy, dreamy, and wonderful. Here you can enjoy beaches, magical coves and tavernas and numerous restaurants that boast incredible Montenegrin fare. Fish and meat are true and tried staples but there are a sprinkling of vegetarian and vegan options for members of your party with such dietary requirements.

You might spot the alluring Sveti Nikola Island in the distance, an almost aggressively angled burst of land looking as if it were spit forth from the sea itself. A trip to the Budva Citadel also makes for a captivating trip and Budva itself is adorned with beauty and whimsy, including the famous statue of the Budva dancing girl.

With Montenegro, a car will get you further. You can delve into the fantastic mountain region of Durmitor for example, or visit our lady of the rocks, a small artificial island with its own church. Light a candle for a loved one and take a moment to pause. Montenegro is full of monasteries and it’s well worth visiting a few, including Ostrog.

Closer to home, there are a number of walking and hiking paths, or you can a ten-minute trip to the nearest beach.

About the Region & Getting There

About Budva

Budva has been celebrated for its remarkable Riviera for decades! Not only are the beaches pristine and spoilt with turquoise waters, holiday-goers are continually reminded of this destination’s antiquated past wherever they look. With mesmerising streets in the Old Town and Monasteries rising over the symbolic Adriatic rooftop-slates, tourists unite in this glorious city for treasured holidays.

First stop, the Beaches! Budva’s coastline stretches for over 20km, so you will have to meander out of the city’s medieval walls to enjoy your choice of seventeen beaches. By far the most popular of these beaches is Jaz – here you will find lots of water-based activities that extend over the 4km shore. If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, a day trip to the charming island of Sveti Nikola is urged. Not only will you experience stunning scenery, which locals liken to Hawaii, but you’re likely to see deer and rabbits. If the heat and sand is all becoming a little too much for you and the family, make sure to visit Aquapark Budva. This impressive facility not only has restaurants, shops and great views, but it also has a superb range of water related activities.

During the day, feel free to explore the Old Town. There’s lots to see and you will learn about this unique town’s history, so visit the numerous museums, the Citadel and Santa Maria del Punta Church. After some sightseeing, stretch your legs along the promenade that acts as a walkway between Budva and another of our favourites - Sveti Stefan. Perhaps stop off half way down this coastal boulevard and familiarise yourself with the Montenegrin food, which includes the well-known Njeguski Steak (schnitzel filled with Njegusi prosciutto & cheese), Buzara (shellfish & prawns) and Ispod Saca (a hearty stew). If shopping is your thing, we suggest a trip to Petrovac in order to explore the dozens of unusual boutiques that are still spoilt with prominent coastal views.

Budva does have a recognised nightlife scene, so if you fancy a cocktail in the evening then check out Mogren Beach or Maltez. Festival goers are drawn to this part of the world during late August for the intimate Sea Dance Festival.

Budva has seen some developed over recent years, but that hasn’t taken away from its 2,500-year history. If you want to be wowed by architecture, beaches and wonderful food & drink – we think you’ve found your next holiday!

Prior to Booking

As many of our regions in Montenegro are coastal, there can sometimes be some adverse weather. This tends to only really occur outside of the Peak Season though. When thinking about booking your holiday to Montenegro, please consult Foreign travel advice for more information.

Entry Requirements

Tourists who are British Citizens will not require a visa upon arrival, unless their stay lasts longer than 90 days. Please check Entry Requirements before departure.

Getting There

Sveti Stefan, Bar & Ulcinj are served by Tivat Airport and Podgorica Airport. Please note that Tivat is a smaller International Airport, which can experience overcrowding in Peak Season. Due to its proximity to Orjen & Lovćen Mountains, flights are sometimes re-directed to Podgorica Airport or cancelled in the case of bad weather.

From the UK:
Direct flights are available from London on Montenegro Airlines, easyJet, TUI, Ryanair and many others. Chartered flights are also available from several other UK airports.

From Dubrovnik, Croatia:
Connecting flights are available from Dubrovnik Airport to Podgorica Airport.

By Bus:
GetByBus operates from Dubrovnik, Tivat and Podgorica to Sveti Stefan, Bar & Ulcinj. Journeys can take up to 4 hours and 45 minutes.

It’s hard to top the unparalleled beauty and hospitality of Montenegro as a destination. Teaming with tradition, history and culture, the landscape and nature are mind-blowing, and the weather is warm and perfect for a heavenly holiday.

The villa itself serves almost as a fortress – a place where you and your family can truly feel safe, special, and serene. Between the pool, television, Wi-Fi, and family areas, you can enjoy time together, and take hikes around the property or take a ten-minute trip to the closest beach for swimming, snorkelling and safe sunbathing.

It would be easy to spend your entire holiday in your palace and we certainly wouldn’t blame you if that’s what you wanted to do, but of course, Montenegro has so much more to offer beyond your doorstep, especially if you wish to make long-lasting family memories.

Water babies rejoice. Whether you want to swim, float, dive, boat or enjoy water sports, there’s so much to do on the water. Mogren and Jaz beaches are not far – you can easily spend all day here. You can’t talk about Montenegro without talking about food, and indeed there’s so much to try, including garlic infused fish dishes, thinly cut layers of fresh pork, lamb stews and brimming breakfast porridges. There are also many markets – be sure to try a few classic mezee dishes.

The Old Town of Budva is an enchanting little place which will really give you a feel for the past of the area and a snippet of its earliest days. A trip to Skadar Lake is a worthwhile village thanks to the beauty of the area.

The unique Sveti Nikola Island is physically striking, and well worth a voyage. It almost dares you to see what it’s about. In Budva there are also old Roman ruins which are a joy to explore. Famous for its military past and its strong religious grounding, you can find monasteries and churches throughout. Ostrog Monastery is a wonderful option, but you really can’t go wrong.

Active kids will enjoy Aquapark, a wonderful way to whittle away a day, with plenty of adrenaline packed fun and opportunities for the kids to make new friends with fellow holidaymakers.

Take the kids on a road trip – make sure you see the whole of the country. It’s small so very doable. The mountain region of Durmitor is a must for the views and fresh mountain air. Biogradska Gora national park is a great way to see the biodiversity of Montenegro and immerse the children in nature.
