What Oliver loves…
- The chapel at this villa in Umbria is an 11th century relic, an utterly romantic wedding venue!
- You'll have the modern comfort of a heated pool and use of a tennis court at this lovingly restored property.
- Rich with wildlife and abundance, the countryside is full of truffles, olive groves and vineyards.
The Old World is alive at this historic villa in Umbria, whose ancient stone courtyard is surrounded by meadows, woods vineyards, and olive groves. A recent restoration has welcomed this abandoned 11th century church and 18th century farmhouse into the present; now the property enjoys a second life as a working organic farm. Inside you’ll find old stone walls, standing in perfect contrast with the plush furniture and modern fixtures. Especially stunning - the grand piano, shining beneath the old beams of a vaulted ceiling!
Weddings are nothing short of spectacular here, whether your guests join you the chapel (seating up to 60) or outside among either fields or ancient flagstone. We’re happy to help arrange catering, flowers, and other services - see the Events page for full details. Guests will find innumerable spots to reconnect, and (of course) photograph; from the pergola in the garden to the old stone fountain.
Located by the tiny town of La Bruna (1 km), this holiday villa has easy access to Perugia (30 km), the capital city and site of the nearest airport. You'll delight at the countryside here, at the foot of Monte Tezio; the truffle forests of Umbria are calling you!
What you should know…
- There’s a wheelchair accessible bedroom suite on the first floor.
- Guests wishing to use the tennis court must book in advance of their arrival.

Umbria has best of Italy to offer: rolling landscapes, wine, beautiful towns and villages, olive oil, expansive lakes and the food, glorious food. A holiday here can be as lazy, active, cultured and as delicious as you like.
This region is scattered with pretty, picturesque villages, while the area has a rich cultural heritage. From thermal pools to medieval cathedrals and olive oil museum, Umbria has an intriguing amount of history to discover.
Both Rome and Florence are accessible within a day trip, while the closest towns of interest would be Orvieto, the old town which is a fascinating series of winding streets, piazzas and a colourful weekly market.
History lovers will be spoilt - from the first century Roman amphitheatres to the twelfth-century duomos, to the fourteenth-century hilltop fortresses, the glut of remnants from the medieval and Bronze Age that punctuate the region is impressive.
