Nestled on the very edge of Lake Monate, Villa Romantica delivers a spectacular lakeside atmosphere like no other. Two other beautiful lakes – Lake Maggiore and Varese – are within driving distance, and both provide a blissful setting for you to enjoy.
Inside the villa, the open plan living area is the ideal space for creating memories with loved ones. Spend evenings cosied up by the fireplace on the large L-shaped sofa or drinking by the bar. The separate kitchen offers a second dining table and is equipped with everything you need to create a delicious meal. Exposed beams and traditional furnishing make Villa Romantica feel like a home away from home.
Every room in this villa (apart from the bathrooms) benefits from large windowed doors which open out into the garden, making the space feel light and airy. They also provide a seamless connection from the indoors to the outdoors, making you feel at one with nature.
The garden itself has a patio complete with a BBQ, outdoor dining set, and sunbeds. Cook up some burgers and enjoy them al fresco in the sunshine. Villa Romantica’s most impressive feature is the private access to Lake Monate. You only need to walk to the end of the garden to take a dip in the stunning lake, perfect for those warm days.
Walk less than ten minutes to reach a variety of restaurants and lidos. Indulge in Italian cuisine while admiring the picturesque scenery made up of turquoise-coloured water and distant mountains. You can also find a quaint lakeside bar within walking distance and lots more a short drive away.
Ispra and Angera are two wonderful towns around Lake Maggiore, both of which you can reach in just ten minutes by car. Ispra features hiking routes, water sports, and bike tours. Angera is an old Roman town with a rich history. Explore Rocca di Angera, a huge fortress, and Porto Asburgico, a charming port dotted with little boats. Both towns feature a wide range of restaurants, cafes, and bars, making them ideal for a day trip.

About the surrounding area of Villa RomanticaWhen you’re not taking a dip in the gorgeous Lake Monate that this villa backs onto, spend some time exploring the local area. Choose from a selection of restaurants and lidos less than a ten-minute walk away. Enjoy a freshly cooked meal while admiring the picturesque views of the lake. There is also a trendy lakeside bar within walking distance and several more in driving distance.
In under ten minutes by car, you can reach Travedona. This quaint town borders Lake Monate and is home to a golf course and old church. You’ll also find a pizzeria and gelato shop – giving you a taste of Italy. If you love walking, drive ten minutes to Gulf of Quasa Park, a gorgeous park with a wide variety of hiking trials that take you through forests and past the shore.
Drive less than ten minutes to reach Ispra, a town that sits on the edge of the stunning Lake Maggiore. This quaint lakeside town is filled with hiking trails that take you along the shore and through luscious parks. You’ll also find a food market selling fresh fruit and vegetables. Adventure-loving guests can take part in the many water sports on offer, from sailing to jet skiing. Bike tours are also available, which showcase the most beautiful parts of the town.
Travel around ten minutes by car to reach Angera, a historical town used as a road station and lake port during Roman times. Here you’ll find Rocca di Angera, a fortress that sits on a rock overlooking Lake Maggiore. Made up of two towers and three wings, these grounds are rich with history. Take advantage of the many hiking routes available, which take you through colourful parks to an old port. When you’ve finished exploring, take a break at one of the many cafes and bars dotted around. With several restaurants to choose from, you can try your Italian favourites, made freshly.
For a change of scenery, drive 30 minutes to reach Varese. This bustling city is famed for its art-nouveau villas and palace. Cyclists will enjoy the bike tours that take you around Lake Varese, filled with wildlife and greenery. Another great activity is hiking through Via Sacra, a lovely uphill trail that takes you past 14 churches to a peaceful sanctuary. When you reach the top of the hill, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views.

There are also lots of opportunities for adventurous children to try sailing or kayaking along the lake. Lido Ispra is perfect for all ages – older children can swim in the lake while little ones play in the sand.
