Villa Cygne is a recently restored villa nestling between olive groves and vineyards near the pretty hillside village of Ménerbes in the Provençal region of the Luberon.

This spacious air-conditioned holiday home has four elegant double bedrooms, all with en suite shower or bathrooms. There are wonderful views of the Luberon hills and Ménerbes, officially one of the most beautiful villages in France. This comfortable family friendly villa is designed to maximise its fantastic enclosed outdoor space and there is so much on offer for the whole family – heated swimming pool, gym, table tennis, pétanque court, table football, board games and large expanses of lawn for running and playing or simply relaxing with a book under an olive tree.

Head to Ménerbes for restaurants, cafés, ice cream parlour and the seasonal Thursday morning market. Admire the views from all sides - you’ll see mountains, verdant plains and, if you are lucky, the white tip of Mont Ventoux.

The Luberon is just a wonderful setting for hiking, horse riding, mountain biking or kayaking. There are many more exquisite villages to visit nearby such as Gordes and Lacoste while historic Avignon and Aix-en-Provence are only a day trip away.

Villa Cygne in situated just outside Ménerbes in the Provençal region of the Luberon, an area which inspired so many great French artists.

Ménerbes is a very beautiful walled village perched on a hilltop, sometimes described as “a ship in a sea of vineyards”. It has calmed down again after the temporary bustle when Peter Mayle wrote his “A Year in Provence” here in the 90’s.

You are lucky to be within easy driving distance of many other exquisite villages such as Bonnieux with its wonderful views across the Vaucluse plateau towards the beautifully preserved medieval village Lacoste. The Luberon National Park is a paradise for walkers, cyclists and many other outdoor activities.

For a great day out, head to Avignon with its UNESCO World Heritage sites, Papal Palace and famous bridge. Alternatively, Aix-en-Provence is one of France's most beautiful university towns, with plenty of fine tea houses and restaurants.

The Luberon Natural Regional Park covers over 500 square miles of stunning, protected land which surrounds the villa, offering families plenty of space for adventure and memory making. On your doorstep you can find sign-posted, child-friendly walking trails, pretty picnic spots and equine centres.

Horse-riding stables are also a great way to discover the region, as is cycling, another popular pursuit across this part of Provence.

Families can hire canoes or kayaks in Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and paddle up the Sorgue river, spotting wildlife and admiring the emerald coloured water.

Older children may also enjoy the tree-top adventure courses at Passerelles des Cîmes whilst the youngest of guests can watch the model trains go by at the delightful Le Jarditrain, about half an hour away towards Carpentras.
