Book Now & Grow Green: 3 Trees Planted with Every Booking!

This Earth Day, join our mission to plant 3 trees for every booking made between April 22nd - 28th, 2024. Let's make a sustainable impact together! Learn more about our journey here >>

Just a short walk from charming St-Rémy, Mas Olivia is a traditional holiday home set in wonderful gardens with glorious views over the trees towards Les Alpilles mountain range.

When Mas Olivia was built in the late twentieth century it was given the highest five-star accolade for St-Rémy. Still today it remains an inviting and comfortable home for guests wishing to stay in this stunning part of Provence.  As you step inside you will appreciate the old-style Provençal ambience with pretty tiled stairs, warm colours and traditional furnishings, many which have been made locally. The cosy living-dining area has a wonderfully grand fire-place made from local stone, perfect for cooler evenings inside with good wine and company, whilst doors open up to the glorious gardens for dining al-fresco in summer months.

Outside you are greeted with idyllic and calming views from the lovely swimming pool, surrounded by olive trees and lazy sun-loungers scattered across the lawns. As well views of the glorious mountains over the treetops, you can even catch a glimpse of the Mausolee des Antiques, very near the impressive Roman site of Glanum.

Wander into charming St-Rémy with its lovely restaurants, pretty cafes and bars and great Wednesday morning food market. The town is also loved by artists, many of whom own little galleries dotted around the narrow lanes of the old town. On some Sundays in summer local artists show off their work along the ‘Route des Artistes’ creating a magical atmosphere.

This is an incredible region of rolling hills, olive groves, pretty villages and fine food from Michelin starred establishments to down to earth bistros. Visit delightful places such as Les Baux-de-Provence and Eygalières, both within twenty minutes by car, or travel further afield to Avignon, Arles, the enchanting Luberon region or even the Camargue, all ideal for perfect days out.

Whether exploring charming markets, cycling past vineyards or hiking with magnificent views of Les Alpilles mountains, this area has a wealth of memorable activities for all ages in this mesmerising part of Provence.

Mas Olivia is in a pretty setting in a semi-residential area just on the edge of St-Rémy-de-Provence in the heart of Les Alpilles Natural Regional Park in Provence.

It’s just under a kilometre to reach the heart of St-Rémy where you have a great variety of restaurants, pretty shops, art galleries and a great food market on a Wednesday morning. Explore the picturesque lanes, admiring artists at work and sit and have a coffee in a French café under the plane trees. The town is particularly well known for its connections to Vincent Van Gogh who checked himself into the St Paul de Mausole and created 150 paintings during his time there, including ‘Starry Night’. There is a Van Gogh trail around St-Rémy that leads to the monastery, which can be visited.

The surrounding countryside is part of the stunning Les Alpilles Natural Regional Park where you can discover rolling hills, mountains and fields of olive groves and vineyards. Tastings can be arranged, whether you are wishing to try some of France’s best olive oil at the original working mills in Maussane-les-Alpilles (10km) or sample fine local wines from wineries across this area.

There are some of France’s most beautiful villages and towns nearby such as the incredible Les Baux-de-Provence (10km) and Eygalières (14km) or a little further to Gordes (40km), Roussillon (49km) and Ménerbes (35km) set amongst the stunning landscapes of the Luberon region. Antique lovers should spend the day in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (33km), especially on a Sunday morning with its world-famous brocante (flea/antique market). It’s also a great spot for canoeing along the Sorgue river as far as Fontaine-de-Vaucluse.

Arles (25km) and Avignon (21km) are two great cities full of history, culture and fine food or drive south towards the mesmerising Camargue with its wild white horses, pink flamingos and ever changing scenery.

Activity lovers will appreciate horse-riding and golf within a short drive as well as walking and cycling routes on your doorstep. Rock-climbing is also a popular pursuit in both Les Alpilles and the Luberon.

Art-loving families will enjoy exploring the narrow lanes of St-Rémy, visiting some of the art galleries and boutiques. There’s also a Van-Gogh art trail to follow which leads you to the famous monastery, St Paul de Mausole, where the artist painted ‘Starry Night’. The villa is also well located for visiting the fascinating archaeological site of Glanum, just south of St-Rémy, a few minutes by car.

Other activities across Les Alpilles Natural Regional Park include walking, cycling, rock-climbing, horse-riding and pony rides. Drive a little further east for a day canoeing on the Sorgue river between Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue or hire canoes by the magnificent Pont du Gard near Nimes, also a great spot for a picnic.

If you’re wanting to spend some time exploring Avignon, little ones may like the road-train that takes you around the city, passing the most famous sights. There are also boat trips across the Rhone.

For a special day out, animal lovers can spend time at Zoo Barben, just under an hour away, where you will find many species of animals over several acres of land.
