Overview
Nestled on the coastline of the southernmost point of Croatia, and only half an hour from the vibrant alleys of Dubrovnik, Villa Cavtat is a totally luxurious villa in the most romantic and awe-inspiring natural location!
You will enjoy a warm welcome in this historic home, built in the 16th century, with its breath-taking façade and lovely flowery surrounds! The ground floor consists of several vast social spaces, including a huge and utterly beautiful, rustic decorated living room, with glorious wooden beams overhead and an array of fantastically colourful tiles on the floor. There are two sofas and an armchair for all the group to enjoy! Beside this there is a large, fully equipped kitchen which will cater to your every culinary need, complete with a dining table for eight under a totally ornate chandelier! The patterns and colours of the kitchen are a fantastic nod to its history. On the second-floor you will even find a sauna for your absolute relaxation and pleasure! There is air-conditioning throughout, as well as heating for the cooler months.
There are four fantastic bedrooms in total – three doubles and one twin room, and all enjoy their personal, private ensuite bathroom. All four rooms are sublime! Sumptuous beds sit beside cosy seating areas and all are warmly lit by the glow of the outside world which floods through each set of vast windows! North facing rooms can also enjoy fantastic sea views! The ensuite bathrooms are equally incredible, with huge walk-in showers, vast bathtubs and plenty of fluffy towels provided. There is also a guest WC on the ground floor for your convenience.
Finally, outside you will find a most wonderful private garden, totally enclosed for your privacy and pleasure. A large Jacuzzi is the perfect spot for a little relaxation at any time of day – simply nip across to the fabulous shaded seating area if you get a little hot in the midday sun! The lawn provides an ideal space for the kids to enjoy a run around, and there are some comfy loungers for all your sun-bathing needs! A barbeque ensures you can enjoy a traditional sunny day out in the garden, dining, socialising and relaxing in private!
Ideally, you’re within walking distance from the beach, bars, restaurants and supermarkets in the ancient Medieval town of Cavtat, brimming with historical monuments and natural wonder!
This utterly charming villa is also under half an hour away by car from the UNESCO World Heritage city of Dubrovnik, the romantic southernmost city in Croatia, of Game of Thrones fame! There’s also a regular boat service from Cavtat. With both the Bosnian and Montenegrin borders so nearby, (under 10 minutes!) why not take the chance to explore a couple more countries while you’re here?
What you should know…
- You’re on the border with both Montenegro and Bosnia – great for visiting extra fabulous countries on your trip, just make sure you have the right documentation if you wish to cross the border!
- Due to the limited public transport in Croatia, we recommend hiring a car throughout your stay.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa CavtatVilla Cavtat is ideally placed to enjoy the famously beautiful natural landscape of Croatia, surrounded by forests and yet right beside the beach! And on top of this, you can soak up the history, culture and fabulous traditions of the cities, as you’re only half an hour from Dubrovnik!
Undoubtedly the cultural hotspot of the country, Dubrovnik itself is a feast for the eyes. In amongst the winding cobbled streets and vast, beautiful squares of its Old Town, you will find endless tiny restaurants, shops, galleries and cafes. Each twist and turn brings a new delight – from the baroque St. Blaise Church to the Renaissance Sponza Palace and the Gothic Rector’s Palace, historical and architectural masterpieces are tucked away in this majestic walled-city.
Take a bird's eye view of the town with a stroll around the vast 16th century stone walls of the city, and admire the terracotta roofs, so typical of the region, as the sun glints on the dark cinnamon tiles and the sea shimmer in the distance. This is the most traditional and beautiful sight of Croatia!
From breath-taking scenery, a rich history and culture, a myriad of enchanting towns and villages nestled among the undulating countryside and a world-famous culinary scene – you will find it all in Croatia!
Active holiday-makers will be delighted with the offerings, including windsurfing, scuba diving, rock climbing, hang-gliding and walking. Both along the dramatic coastal paths and in the mountains inland, you will find an abundance of pristine paths for cycling and rugged off-road hiking trails.
Much like its neighbouring Italy, Croatia is a gastronome’s paradise, home to world-class cuisine and, especially in the north, endless rows of vineyards!
Tucked right at the bottom of the Croatian coast, you’re also just a stone’s throw from the vast, rugged expanse of Bosnia and the pristine coastline and quaint seaside towns of Montenegro – so you can easily explore an extra country or two during your stay!
Dubrovnik International Airport is just 10 minutes from the villa, and we offer a free airport shuttle service, while the city is a major hub for those getting ferries.
