Lola Apartment is located along the Dalmatian Coast in the picturesque town of Primosten. Primarily known as a holiday resort, Primosten is a favourite destination for those who crave a peaceful and relaxing stay, providing the perfect ‘base’ for your Croatian holiday. There is easy access to the other towns, cities and sights that Dalmatia has to offer - and yet there is still plenty to enjoy in Primosten as a destination in its own right, giving you the best of both worlds.

The town is home to some fabulous fine-dining restaurants, including   the popular Tavern Marina. Located right by the sea and with a penchant for sourcing locally produced ingredients, this much-lauded  eatery is well-known for its mouthwatering meat and fish dishes. If it’s authentic Croatian cuisine you’re after, the Santa Marina restaurant offers a variety of traditional Dalmatian dishes including Peka (meat and vegetables cooked over hot coals), and Pasticada (a beef stew dish), as well as a good selection of fish dishes.

After dinner you’ll be able to walk off those calories by strolling through the pretty streets of Primosten and taking in the stunning local  architecture - including the 15th century, white stone Church of St George and its stunning bell tower. An equally impressive sight in the town is the Our Lady of Loretto statue - a 17 metre shrine to the Virgin Mary which is located on Gaj Hill above Primosten and offers visitors the most incredible views of this beautiful town.

If you’ve come to this region for the beaches, you won’t be disappointed; especially when you discover the town’s famous Raduca beach. This pretty pebbled beach offers breathtaking views of the Primosten peninsula, and is popular with families with young children thanks to its shallow waters, excellent nearby parking and, the attractions that are often here during the summer months, such as trampolines, inflatables and bouncy castles. The beach is backed by a promenade which is teeming with ice-cream parlours, cafes, eateries and shops selling souvenirs and local arts and crafts, so you should have no problem finding gifts to take home to remind you of your stay.

Region

Perched on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, Primošten is a stunning seaside town that beckons visitors with its warm Mediterranean charm. This enchanting destination is more than just a picturesque coastal enclave; it's a place where the past gracefully meets the present, and where breathtaking landscapes paint the perfect backdrop for a memorable vacation.

Primošten features pretty, stone streets that wind their way through the town. You'll feel as though you've stepped back in time as you explore the ancient architecture and discover the many quaint shops and restaurants.

The white stone Church of St. George, perched on a hill at the heart of the town, is a must-visit attraction. Its bell tower offers an excellent vantage point to take in panoramic views of the town and the sea. As you stroll through the old town, you'll also come across the famous Bucavac, a circular stone tower that was once a key part of the town's defence system. It now serves as a cultural venue and a reminder of the town's fortified past.

The area’s coastline is dotted with picturesque coves and pebble beaches, making it a haven for beach lovers. The crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic are perfect for swimming and snorkelling, and paddle-boarding and kayaking are a popular way of exploring the coast. The most famous beach in Primosten is Mall Raduca, a Blue Flag beach known for its clean, safe waters and pristine surroundings.

A delightful way to immerse yourself in the peninsula’s natural beauty is by taking a walk through the Primošten Vineyards. These remarkable stone-walled vineyards date back to the 16th century and are now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The breathtaking vistas of the Adriatic Sea and the charming town below will take your breath away.

You can sample the local wines produced from these vineyards in the traditional restaurants along Primosten’s waterfront, which also serve up a variety of freshly caught fish and shellfish. A must-try dish is the Dalmatian classic, "Peka," a hearty dish made from meat or seafood slow-cooked with potatoes and vegetables under a bell-shaped lid. For those with a sweet tooth, don't forget to finish with "Rozata," a traditional Croatian custard dessert with a caramelised sugar glaze - a taste of heaven on a plate!

Primošten's proximity to the Dalmatian islands adds another layer of allure to this peninsula. Take a day trip to the nearby Kornati Islands, a national park consisting of 89 stunning islands and islets. The Kornati archipelago is a sailor's paradise, with its crystalline waters and numerous coves. If you're not an experienced sailor, guided boat tours are readily available.

Another wonderful day trip is to the idyllic island of Zlarin, known as the "Golden Island" due to its golden, sandy beaches. Zlarin is famous for its history of coral harvesting, and today this can still be seen in their jewellery-making tradition.

Whether you're wandering through the charming old town, basking on the pristine beaches, or exploring the nearby islands, Primošten offers an abundance of enticing experiences. This coastal gem is more than just a tourist destination; it's an authentic slice of Croatian life.

Best Suited For: All Ages

Croatia is fast becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations for families with children, and the town of Primosten is particularly child-friendly. The famous Raduca beach is always a hit, thanks to its clear, shallow waters and the attractions that are often set up here during the summer months. The beach is pebbled, as are most in the region, so beach shoes are a must and are readily and cheaply available in one of the many shops along the promenade.

Eating here as a family is stress-free, as you’ll find something to tempt all taste buds, from traditional local dishes and seafood, to pizzas, ice-cream and everything in between. The streets are quiet and winding, perfect for family walks and there are some local sights that might impress the little ones - not least of all the Our Lady of Loretto statue - a 17 metre shrine to the Virgin Mary which is located on Gaj Hill above primosten and offers incredible views of the town.

A trip to the city of Split is an enjoyable experience for families and kids will love visiting the waterfront promenade Zapadna Obala to watch the boats, it’s a pedestrian-only area that gives the children a safe place to roam. Bacvice Beach is well worth a visit while you’re in Split. One of the rare sandy beaches in the region, it’s popularity is due in part to its size and location - nestled deep within a cove, the waves are small and the water shallow - making it a great destination beach for those with children. Be warned - it can get quite busy!

The city of Split is home to festivals and events all year round, so chances are your trip will marry up with something exciting! The Croatia Boat Show and Festival of Flowers held in April and May are particularly popular, as is the Split Summer Festival held from mid July to mid August and features concerts, marionette theatre shows, modern dance and ballet shows. Again, these events can get busy, so a little forward planning might be in order.

For fans of something a little comical and quirky, take a trip to the towering Gregorius of Nin statue in Split Old Town. Legend has it that rubbing his big toe will bring good luck - so it’s well worth a go, even if just for a laugh and a funny photo!
