Set just a few metres from the beach in the peaceful residential area of Son Blanc, this spacious and luxurious property is the perfect accommodation choice for those looking to enjoy a relaxing and restful island break, just minutes away from all of the amenities you could wish for.
The villa is bright and fresh throughout, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass doors that allow plenty of natural light and showcase the stunning interior decor to perfection. The aesthetic here is contemporary and elegant, with dazzling white-washed walls and high-end furnishings. The villa’s roomy lounge space offers guests panoramic garden views and includes plump cream sofas - perfect for sinking into at the end of a long day - as well as a flat-screen satellite TV for the family nights in. Villa Santandria includes an incredibly spacious open-plan kitchen/diner with a large table that seats up to eight guests and overlooks the private pool terrace. Rustling up family meals here is a breeze, with plenty of high-end appliances that include an integrated oven and hob, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher, as well as a variety of cookware, crockery and utensils. The villa also benefits from the addition of a washing machine - perfect for families who are enjoying an extended stay.
All four bedrooms at Villa Santandria are decorated and furnished to the same high standard as the rest of the villa and are all complete with sumptuous double beds and private ensuite bathrooms for added convenience. A cot is available in the villa for the very youngest guests - so there’s no need to worry about bringing your own.
The villa’s enclosed and well-maintained garden features a large lawn area, which provides a wonderful space for sunbathing or a safe area for the kids to play. Alfresco family meals can be prepared courtesy of the villa’s built-in barbecue and enjoyed undercover on the shaded porch, which is complete with a dining suite and separate furnished lounge area - a lovely spot for enjoying pre-dinner drinks and conversation. No private villa would be complete without a private pool - and the one here at Villa Santandria is huge! - perfect for swimming or for just splashing about. The water is easily accessed via steps, so there’s no need to worry about having to help younger guests in and out and it is surrounded by comfy sun loungers for reclining and watching the world go by.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa SantandriaVilla Santandria is situated just a few metres from the beach of Sa Caleta, a small stretch of soft white sand attached to a calm bay, and located next door to Santandria Beach. The beach is easily accessible for those with pushchairs or limited mobility, and there are some great amenities available, including a sunbed and umbrella-hire and places to buy food and drink. The water here is clear and calm, and there are lifeguards on duty for peace of mind - so it’s a great place to bring the children. For those who want to try their hand at water-based activities, it’s a popular beach for swimming and snorkelling, and it’s also possible to rent paddle boats to explore the bay.
The villa is 2.3 km from the former capital Ciutadella, a place which guidebooks often refer to as ‘Menorca’s prettiest city.’ Ciutadella is a great base for day trips to the local beaches and other highlights of the island and is famous for its historic harbour, street art culture and gentle buzzing nightlife. The pastel-hued streets make a refreshing change from the typical white-washed towns of the region and are dotted with little shops and delis where you can pick up some local produce to enjoy back at the villa. Oliver recommends heading down to the marina during your stay, where you’ll find a variety of cafes and restaurants serving up delicious fare to suit all tastes and budgets, as well as offering spectacular views.
From the harbour, you’ll be able to book boat trips to explore more of the coastline - including a full-day trip lunch and a unique swimming and snorkelling experience on a 10-metre wooden sailboat. It’s worth knowing that highly-rated and affordable trips are incredibly popular, so it’s worth booking early so that you don’t miss out!
Playa Cala Blanca is the main beach here, a golden sandy stretch that is a fabulous location for enjoying some of the best sunsets in the Med and a great spot for spending a day soaking up the sun. The beach is popular with families thanks to its warm, calm, clear waters, soft sands, and amenities that include sun-lounger and umbrella hire, as well as with those who love to snorkel! There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants nearby for refreshments, as well as gift shops - and even an Irish pub!

THE REGION
Ciutadella's historical city is located on Menorca's extreme west coast. It used to be the capital of culture and commerce in Menorca, and although it has not been this for a long while, it is still a very attractive city with a wonderful heritage and real appeal.
Visit Es Born, the historic part of the city. If you like culture and historic churches, medieval-looking streets all accompanied by traditional Spanish restaurants, make sure you take a look on your stay. The mix is perfect with most tastes in music catered and perfect for late-night entertainment.
Ciutadella doesn't have its own beach, but just 3 kilometres away are the small beaches of Cala Santandria and Sa Caleta and further afield are Cala'n Blanes, Cala'n Forcat, Cala Blanca and Cala'n Bosch.

Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Santandria offers a wonderful home-from-home vibe that will appeal to families with children. There are home comforts here that include satellite TV and WiFi connection, so it will be easy to keep the kids entertained indoors when needed, and outside, the garden is spacious and enclosed so that they can play safely.
While there are no twin rooms at the villa, the kids will enjoy getting to sleep in a 'big bed' during their stay, perhaps even sharing with a sibling, and there is a baby cot available for the youngest guests. There's lots of space indoors and out to dine together, with a shaded alfresco dining area that is perfect for keeping the little ones out of the sun on the hottest part of the day. The private pool is large, so the kids will have plenty of room for their lilos and inflatables! - and it's easily accessible via steps, so children should be able to get in and out unaided. The pool is located close to the covered lounge and dining area, so parents will be able to sit back and relax while the children play in the water while still being able to keep a close eye on them. Parents should note that the pool is unfenced and that the walkway around it could get slippery when wet, so caution is advised.
Just a short walk away from the villa is Sa Caleta Beach, which is a wonderful place to spend a few hours with the kids. The sands here are clean and soft, and the waters are calm, so it's perfect for paddling. It's worth noting that there isn't much in the way of amenities here, so be sure to pack the suncream, towels and beach umbrellas, as well as some water and snacks. If you want to explore a little more of the island and introduce the kids to some history and culture, the city of Ciutadella is just a short drive from the villa and offers plenty of family-friendly places to eat, as well as interesting attractions that the kids will enjoy. Fortaleza de la Mola is a popular attraction with families, a fascinating 19th-century fortress that is bound to impress kids of all ages. Younger children will love running around and exploring this imposing structure - and in fact, are encouraged to by the staff here, so it's great for letting them burn off some energy. Oliver recommends visiting in the early morning or late in the afternoon if you are visiting with kids, as the temperature can soar around midday, and there are few shaded areas.
