This traditional-style property features a gleaming white exterior, with a clean, fresh neutral decor throughout, charming beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled floors. The glorious living space is bright and roomy, with dazzling white sofas and comfortable chairs adorned with cushions in refreshing shades of lemon and cornflower blue. The aesthetic here is cosy, luxurious and modern, with hardwood furnishings and contemporary lighting fixtures for a classic, homely feel. The living space features a flatscreen TV for your entertainment and incorporates a good-sized dining space, giving guests the option to enjoy intimate indoor meals with the whole family - it’s the perfect place to chill out at the end of a busy day.

The villa’s kitchen is traditional and stylish, decorated in shades of chocolate brown and powder blue and features everything you’ll need to cater to yourself and your guests during your stay. You’ll find ample food-preparation space here, as well as plenty of good-quality appliances, including an oven and vitroceramic hob, a blender, kettle, coffee maker, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher, as well as plenty of cookware, crockery and utensils. Guests can choose from three elegantly decorated bedrooms, all featuring stylish white decor and featuring comfortable beds for a relaxing and restful night’s sleep. All three rooms are situated at garden level, and a mix of two twin rooms and a double with an ensuite bathroom make it ideal for families with children or for groups of friends holidaying together. Guests staying in the twin bedrooms share the use of two modern bathrooms with shower facilities for your convenience.

Casa Anguila offers guests breathtaking sea views and enjoys direct access to the shore. There is nowhere better to enjoy these incredible vistas than from the villa’s grounds, which feature a secure and private garden area with soft, well-maintained lawns that are perfect for sunbathing or as a space for the kids to play. Casa Anguila is set in a privileged position just three minutes from Binibeca beach and 3.4km from the luxurious area of Cap d’en Font. The Blue Flag Award-winning stretch that is Binibeca Beach features good facilities such as umbrella and sun lounger hire, shaded picnic areas and toilets. There is good access for those with limited mobility, and it’s a popular spot with families with young children. This is largely down to its clean sands and clear, shallow waters, which are ideal for paddling, swimming and snorkelling. For those who want to try some more high-octane watersports, there is a watersports centre nearby, and you’ll also find a good variety of gift and souvenir shops, a supermarket, and bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.

Nearby Cap d’en Fort, one of Menorca’s quietest regions, Binisafua beach being the biggest attraction. Here you’ll find soft, fine sands and clear, shallow waters - making it popular with families with children. The beach is sheltered by dense pine forests and palm trees on one side and rocks and shrubs on the other, and is an idyllic and unspoilt spot to spend your time. One of the best things about a stay in Menorca is that you are never far from a beach, and you’ll find plenty in the surrounding area to enjoy if you fancy a bit of beach-hopping! Just 0.3km from the centre of Cap d’en Font is Es Calo Blanco, a tiny bay with crystal turquoise waters and soft golden sands. The beach is blessedly quiet even during peak season, and although you won’t find any amenities here, it is a wonderful place to sunbathe, swim and soak up the natural surroundings.

If you’re looking to enjoy a livelier, family-friendly atmosphere during your stay, the capital Mahon is just a short drive away from the villa and is a lively and popular spot where you’ll find an array of restaurants and shops as well as a bi-weekly market selling fruit, vegetables, meat and fish in the cloisters of the hilltop church overlooking the harbour. The harbour itself is one of the largest in the world and is lined with top-quality eateries serving up delicious local cuisine, as well as offering buzzing nightlife.

THE REGION

The quiet and idyllic resort of Binibeca is a very popular smaller resort on the beautiful south coast of Menorca and is a perfect choice for holidaymakers wanting to escape the noise and crowds of other more developed areas. You will not find any skyline-destroying hotels or large holiday complexes here, most accommodations being in private villas and apartments.

Today, Binibeca stretches 3 km along the coast and includes the original ‘Binibèquer Vell’, or an old portion, as well as the new portion of ‘Binibèquer Nou’- a natural progression with many of the homes and villas in keeping with the original design. At the very eastern point of Binibeca, you will also find Cala Torret, a small village which feels separate but is actually part of it.

For families with children, Casa Anguila is a great accommodation choice, with two twin rooms and a cot available, and plenty of space both inside and out for them to play. Eating and chilling out together as a family is easy here, with space inside and out to do both - including a shaded alfresco lounge and dining area, and there is WiFi access and a TV for if they want some quiet time indoors. The kids will love having a large garden in which to play, as well as having access to a private pool - a real treat on a hot day!

The views here are stunning, and the children will enjoy looking out for the sailboats that frequent the bay - why not encourage them to take some souvenir pictures or maybe even paint one of the spectacular sunsets that can be seen here. Wherever you are in Menorca, you’re never far from a beach - a huge plus when you are holidaying with children! The nearest beach at Binibeca features soft white sands and clear shallow waters, making it perfect for younger children. Families come here to paddle and picnic and perhaps to try their hand at snorkelling - there’s plenty of local marine life to spot!

Binibeca is a beautiful place to spend time together with the kids, wandering through the pretty streets and enjoying refreshments at the local cafes. There are lots of walking trails in the surrounding areas, and cycling and horse riding are popular pastimes here, so Oliver recommends taking the opportunity to spend some time in nature with the kids and enjoying the spectacular views.

If you have access to transport and decide to venture to the prestigious area of Cap d’en Font, you’ll find numerous shopping and dining opportunities, as well as some truly stunning (and quiet!) beaches.
