A one-bedroom, one-bathroom low-key private villa set in the scenic outskirts of the old town of Pollença in the North East of Mallorca.

As soon as you walk through the grand wooden doorway of this relaxed villa, you’ll be surrounded by authentic Mediterranean charm. Pristine white walls and earthy tiled floors sit under high ceilings and wooden beams which span the length of the house, lending a cosy feel to a homely place.

Neutral furnishings are dotted around the property, creating a space that’s both relaxing and warm, and touches of wrought iron really add to the Mallorcan interior. Those looking for privacy and tranquillity can look no further as the house is surrounded by a luscious green landscape, where it will feel as if you have the countryside to yourselves.

An open and airy entrance adjoins the dining area, which comfortably seats six people. Next to this is the fully equipped, modern kitchen which opens out onto the garden. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare fresh, local produce, including a ceramic hob, electric oven, toaster, microwave, washing machine and fridge freezer. A door leads from the kitchen out onto a pretty covered dining terrace which overlooks the pool area. Walking the length of the house from the kitchen brings you to the home-like living area with a comfortable sofa which converts into a sofa bed. There’s also a TV, DVD player, and a wood-burning fire which makes the room perfect for cosying up in when the nights turn cooler.

On the ground floor, you’ll find a double bedroom with the same authentic terracotta tiled floors and wood-beamed ceilings. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee in bed as the natural sunlight fills the room. A modern bathroom with a shower and sink unit also sits on the ground floor, completing everything you need to make your stay comfortable.

The outdoor area is equally as charming. Next to the front door is an outdoor seating area so guests can watch the world go by at the end of their drive with a glass of red wine in hand. The outdoor area is just around the corner from the private outdoor pool. Set amongst the greenery, the pool is undoubtedly a highlight of the property, and guests love to spend hours here topping up their tans under the blue Spanish sky. An outdoor barbecue completes the outdoor space and means guests can cook and dine al fresco through the warm Spanish evenings.

Can Tereu sits close to the charming town of Pollença and is a short fifteen-minute drive to Port d'Alcudia in North East Mallorca.

Pollença is an ancient town steeped in a rich history which can be discovered at every turn of its narrow and pretty streets. The 'Pont Romà' two-arched bridge dating back to Roman days continues to be a draw for visitors.

The town centre houses the 18th-century Mare de Deu dels Angels church, which has a beautiful rose window. The church is a fine starting point for learning about the fascinating history of the town itself, which dates back to the time of the Knights Templar. The centre beautifully mixes history and tradition with leisure; visit on a Sunday morning, and you'll find the square lined with market stalls and local Mallorcans relaxing with a coffee after church.

Another historic buildings are a former Jesuit convent which is now the town hall. One of the town's most popular destinations is the Calvari church. Climb the 365 steps (one for each day of the year) lined with cypress trees and be rewarded with views of the town and all the way up to the Bay of Pollença.

A few kilometres away is Port de Pollença. The stunning Port de Pollença Beach offers a horseshoe-shaped bay with soft golden sand, sun loungers, and parasols and offers a range of cafes, bars and restaurants. The popular coastal walk is the Pine Walk, named for the pine trees which line the cobbled trail and take you along a beautiful collection of sandy coves and little beaches.

A ten-minute drive away is Port d'Alcúdia, a popular resort town which, at high season, bustles with people who come to seek fun and enjoy the restaurants, beaches and activities that the port has to offer. The main beach is Playa d'Alcúdia which has received the much coveted European Blue Flag for its clean waters. Being very family-friendly, the beach has excellent facilities, including showers, toilets, and changing areas. There's also a children's play area and gym equipment, and for those wanting to get out on the water, there's a huge range of water sports. Kayaks, paddle boats, and stand-up paddle boards are all on offer. For those wanting something in the way of relaxation can rent lounge chairs and beach umbrellas for the day.

THE REGION

Pollensa, in the north of the island, is an ancient town of attractive narrow streets and an impressive main square, lined with cafés, restaurants and bars, and is just a few kilometres from Port de Pollensa.

The town has several places of interest to visit, including the Roman bridge, signposted ‘Pont Roma’, which is still in use, and the Puig de Pollensa – a small mountain topped by a monastery just outside the town. Pollença has several beaches which are very popular with children. Port de Pollença Beach has soft golden sand, sun loungers, and parasols. Formentor, Cala Sant Vicenç and Cala Boquer all have clear blue waters making it a perfect day out with the kids. One way to explore the waters is by a glass bottom boat, some of which offer snorkelling, fishing and lunch.

The stunning natural coastline and the surrounding areas of Pollença are fantastic places to see by bike, and kids love to spend hours cycling around the landscape. There are more active leisure activities on offer, with kayaking, coasteering, cliff jumping, climbing, caving, stand-up paddling, hiking, and boat trips.

Venturing towards Alcúdia, kids will find go-karting thrills at Karting Mania in the Hotel Bellevue Complex. Earning the title of the biggest karting track in Alcudia, Karting Mania is one of the best places to have fun for families and children. With plenty of curves to drive around, kids will be sure to tire themselves out after a day on the tracks.

Venturing to the south of Mallorca island, a forty-five minute drive away, Palma Aquarium is a fun attraction for families and kids. A leisure and entertainment centre for adults and children, some of its most popular offerings include a 3d cinema, diving with sharks and even a sleepover in the aquarium!

For a sunrise the little ones will never forget, climb aboard a boat at Port de Alcúdia and enjoy breakfast while heading north as dawn breaks over the Mallorcan skyline. As the colour of the ocean changes with the sun's rise keep a lookout for the dolphins that cruise the area.

Security deposit €150 charged to the client's credit card as a pre-authorisation at least 2 weeks prior to arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to a full inspection.

    We spent 9 days in this lovely little finca and we didn't miss anything. We enjoyed the peace and the beautiful nature around us very much! Unfortunately it was too cold, otherwise we would have liked to use the pool more often ) we will gladly come back!
