The interior of Finca Cosmica is delightfully cosy, with a pretty farmhouse aesthetic in contrast to the modern architecture of the building. Everything here is of the highest quality, from the beautiful wooden ceiling beams and richly tiled flooring to the handsomely crafted furniture and sumptuous soft furnishings. The decor throughout is light, with fresh white walls that perfectly complement the rich wooden accents and the bursts of colour in the villa’s artworks. The lounge area is as comfortable as it is functional, with a soft sofa and armchair to sink into, ready for a night in front of the TV, and a spacious dining area - perfect for enjoying home-cooked meals with the whole family. Finca Cosmica features a separate, well-equipped kitchen with a ceramic hob, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and all of the cookware, crockery and utensils you’ll need during your stay.
The villa’s bedrooms are just as elegant in design and decor; light, spacious rooms that promise a relaxing and restful night’s sleep. There are two double bedrooms and a single that share a bathroom with a bathtub, as well as a double master bedroom that benefits from ensuite facilities, including a hydromassage bathtub for the ultimate holiday luxury. The grounds of Finca Cosmica are no less impressive, with a covered porch, a well-maintained lawn area with hammocks, and a fully-furnished alfresco dining area complete with barbecue. Other luxurious extras include a pretty fish pond, giant chequers set and an outside bathroom with a shower. Of course, there’s also the all-important private pool, which is surrounded by sun loungers, and a covered daybed - the ideal spot to relax with a good book and a glass of local wine as you enjoy your beautiful surroundings.

About the surrounding area of Finca CosmicaFinca Cosmica is situated in the beautiful, rural village of Santa Gertrudis, an area surrounded by agricultural fields that are home to fruit orchards, sheep, goats, and the island’s only dairy cows. Steeped in tradition, Santa Gertrudis’ main village square is overlooked by its whitewashed fortress church and distinctive yellow tower and features a pedestrian-friendly plaza where you’ll find plenty in the way of bars, restaurants and shops.
This charming little village is popular with tourists thanks to its relaxing and chilled-out vibe, where children play in the beautifully lit square or fabulous playground late into the evening while families dine on the terraces. There are little boutiques and arts and crafts shops open day and night here, so visitors are often strolling through the streets long after the sun has gone down, enjoying the sophisticated, bohemian vibe. The village is home to many artists, musicians and sculptors, and you’ll find their works everywhere here in the local galleries and most famously at Bar Costa, where during the hippy era of the 60s, penniless artists would come to swap paintings for food.
The surrounding areas of Santa Gertrudis are home to a variety of fruit and vegetable farms that supply the local restaurants with fresh produce, so whether you’re craving classic Spanish tapas, hearty Italian food, or delicious and innovative vegetarian and vegan options, you’ll be spoilt for choice during your stay in the village. We recommend dining at Gitano, whose terrace is one of the loveliest spots in the village. Cocktail lovers will be in their element here, as the restaurant has a long and extensive list to choose from, and the food is first-rate, with a menu that includes ceviche, wonderfully light tempura and the most incredible sushi. Another popular restaurant in the village is Wild Beets, a stylishly contemporary plant-based restaurant that is popular with vegans and non-vegans alike and is famous for its clean, mostly raw, Instagram-friendly dishes. For those who enjoy fusion cuisine, there’s La Paloma restaurant, popular with locals as well as tourists - and even a few celebs! - this Italian-Israeli-run restaurant offers an exciting Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern/North African fusion menu, offering excellent salads, solomillo steak and chicken shawarma, among other tempting dishes.

THE REGION
At the geographical heart of the island, the village of Santa Gertrudis is Ibiza as a microcosm. Steeped in tradition, the main square is overlooked by the whitewashed fortress church with its distinctive yellow tower and surrounded by a cluster of bars, restaurants and shops. Meanwhile, the rich agricultural landscape surrounding the village is home to fruit orchards, sheep, goats and the island's only dairy cows.
The town itself is an attraction. Nearby is the gorgeous Benirrás beach with its beach club Elements Ibiza and hippie bongo drummers playing as the sun goes down on Sundays. Shopping is hard to resist with many lovely boutiques and the auction house Casi Todo to pick up some antiques. There are several annual festivals in Santa Gertrudis, including the Domingo del Arte art festival and the blessing of the animals in the church.

Best Suited For: All AgesFinca Cosmica is all on one level, making it a good choice for families who are travelling with young children. Although there are some steps from the garden up to the main door, the interior layout offers plenty of space without the added worry of the little ones trying to navigate stairs at night or use the bathroom. The villa features mainly double bedrooms, with just one single, but sorting out sleeping arrangements for the little ones shouldn’t be too much trouble; all being able to sleep on one floor is a huge plus, and younger children might find sharing a ‘big bed’ with a sibling all part of the holiday adventure!
There are some areas of the villa where parents will want to exercise extra caution when it comes to very young children; the villa has both a private pool and a fishpond, and while these are sure to be attractions that the kids will enjoy, you should be aware that there are no safety barriers or fences around these bodies of water.
Having said all that, the kids will love the amount of space they have here at Finca Cosmica, with plenty of shaded areas in the garden to play, hammocks to swing in and a pool, as well as home-from-home comforts such as satellite TV and WiFi for their entertainment.
The village of Santa Gertrudis is the perfect place for a quiet family getaway, with pretty streets to explore and plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. It’s not uncommon for families who visit the village to spend time enjoying tapas in the rustic bar that overlooks the main square, where children can play safely, before visiting the well-maintained local park. The village is famous for its arty vibe, so any young art enthusiasts are sure to be in their element here, enjoying the little galleries and street art in the area. If you happen to visit in August, you’ll be able to enjoy the art fair that takes place in the main square, an event that is popular with visitors and locals alike.
If you want to enjoy life at a slightly faster pace with the kids, Santa Gertrudis is not located far from Ibiza town and all it has to offer in the way of family-friendly activities, including water parks, horse riding, cave diving, aquariums and Jeep excursions. Of course, no holiday to Ibiza would be complete without a trip to the beach, and Oliver recommends that families visit Cala Llonga, an especially child-friendly beach that features both a children’s playground and a mini amusement park, as well as amenities such as toilets and beach bar. Cala Llenya is another beach that is great for families with children; there’s plenty of shade here, which makes it a good spot for picnics, and the shallow waters make it perfect for toddlers and older kids to wade and paddle safely.

Very good
The house is spacious and has a nice morning terrace on the west side. The pool and garden and space around it with sunbeds, hammocks and dining table for the evening is beautiful. Walking to Santa Gertrudis is easy to do. You can also easily do some shopping there. Good towel service, including pool towels.

Lovely villa in good location
The villa is in a great location, only a few minutes walk from a lovely village, wiht plenty of shops and restaurants. The pool and the outside areas are lovely.

Very nice villa!
Very nice villa that is even better in real life than on the photos. Nice, quite location that will allow you to fully relax. We stayed with a family of 6 and a baby, which was very comfortable. Home owner Tony is very firendly and accommodating. Fresh fruit from own garden is a nice touch. If we go back to the island we will surley book this villa again.
