Set within tranquil rural surroundings, just kilometres from the beautiful, bohemian village of Santa Gertrudis, stands Casa Gertrudis, a traditional stone-built five-bedroom villa accommodating up to ten guests. The perfect holiday retreat for unwinding and recharging your batteries in the sun, this charming villa features everything you need to enjoy a relaxing and memorable stay, including beautiful outdoor spaces, a spacious and elegantly designed interior, and a wonderful private pool.
The villa enjoys a warm and welcoming rustic decor throughout, with whitewashed walls and wooden ceiling beams, beautifully crafted furnishings and pretty, decorative touches. The living space is bright and open, yet cosy, featuring a traditional-style open fireplace, plump sofas, and soft ambient lighting. This open-plan space incorporates room for indoor dining, with a large wooden dining table and seating for enjoying hearty breakfasts and delicious evening meals. From here, guests can meander up the open staircase to a fully furnished chillout terrace and an open area is known as the ‘sky view zone’, which offers spectacular views of the countryside and the distant ocean.
Casa Gertrudis features a well-equipped, farmhouse-style kitchen - perfect for rustling up meals for the whole family during your stay. The amenities here are high-quality and plentiful and include an oven and microwave, toaster, coffee machine, juicer, kettle, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine - as well as all the cookware, crockery and utensils you’ll need to cater to you and your guests.
The bedrooms are all equally spacious and stylish, featuring the same charming and rustic decor as the rest of the villa. Two of the bedrooms are accessible from the lounge area; both are stylish twins with air-conditioning and ensuite bathrooms with modern shower facilities. A further three bedrooms are located in an adjoining annexe, which also features a second small lounge area. Here you’ll find two more twin rooms and a large double featuring a Balinese-style bed - all with ensuite facilities. The unique layout of the villa makes it a great choice for large groups of friends or two or more families holidaying together.
When it comes to outdoor spaces in which to relax, you’ll be spoiled for choice at Casa Gertrudis. There are plenty of fully-furnished areas to chill out, relax with a good book, or simply soak up the sun, as well as a covered dining terrace for alfresco meals. The villa’s private pool is easily accessible via steps - making it easy for guests of all ages to enjoy - and is surrounded by luxurious loungers and a Balinese bed. It’s the perfect spot for spending time together as a family, swimming and taking in the breathtaking views in this idyllic Ibizan haven.

About the surrounding area of Casa GertrudisCasa Gertrudis is located in a quiet, rural location surrounded by nature, just a few km from the village of Santa Gertrudis - one of Ibiza's most beautiful areas and a firm favourite with both locals and visitors. People come here to enjoy the village's relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere, delightful central square, and agricultural scenery, which is home to lush fruit orchards, sheep, goats, and the island's only dairy cows. Santa Gertrudis' is an area steeped in tradition, and the main village square is overlooked by its whitewashed fortress church, which has a distinctive yellow tower. There is a pedestrian-friendly plaza where you'll find plenty in the way of bars, restaurants and shops, so you'll find plenty to see and do here without having to travel further afield if you don't want to.
Santa Gertrudis has a wonderfully family-friendly vibe, where children can be found playing in the beautifully lit square or fabulous playground late into the evening after dining with their families on the terraces. There are little boutiques and arts and crafts shops open day and night here, so visitors can often be seen strolling through the streets long after the sun has gone down, enjoying Santa Gertrudis' sophisticated, bohemian vibe. The village is home to many artists, musicians and sculptors, and you'll find their works everywhere here in the local galleries, and most famously at Bar Costa, where during the hippy era of the 60s, penniless artists would come to swap paintings for food.
Fresh, local produce is very much on the menu here, with the surrounding areas being home to a variety of fruit and vegetable farms that supply the local restaurants and eateries. Whether you're craving classic Spanish tapas, hearty Italian food, or delicious and innovative vegetarian and vegan options, you'll be spoilt for choice during your stay in the village. Oliver recommends dining at Gitano, whose dining terrace is one of the loveliest spots in the village - we suggest making a reservation as it can get quite busy during the summer months! Cocktail lovers will be in their element here, as the restaurant has a long and extensive list to choose from, and the food is first-rate, with a menu that includes ceviche, wonderfully light tempura and the most incredible sushi.

THE REGION
At the geographical heart of the island, the village of Santa Gertrudis is Ibiza as a microcosm. Steeped in tradition, the main square is overlooked by the whitewashed fortress church with its distinctive yellow tower and surrounded by a cluster of bars, restaurants and shops. Meanwhile, the rich agricultural landscape surrounding the village is home to fruit orchards, sheep, goats and the island's only dairy cows.
The town itself is an attraction. Nearby is the gorgeous Benirrás beach with its beach club Elements Ibiza and hippie bongo drummers playing as the sun goes down on Sundays. Shopping is hard to resist with many lovely boutiques and the auction house Casi Todo to pick up some antiques. There are several annual festivals in Santa Gertrudis, including the Domingo del Arte art festival and the blessing of the animals in the church.

Best Suited For: All AgesWith its spacious layout, twin bedrooms and wonderful outdoor spaces, Casa Gertrudis is a popular choice with families. The kids are sure to enjoy the villa’s private pool, and there are home comforts, including Satellite TV and WiFi, to enjoy during the quieter moments. Parents should note that there are some steps in and around the villa, including an open staircase up to the roof terrace, so caution is definitely advised.
The forests surrounding the property are particularly beautiful, featuring pine and fruit trees, so if you are travelling with any young artists or photographers, Oliver recommends packing their art supplies and equipment so that they can recreate their beautiful new surroundings in their own unique style.
The villa is situated just a few Km from Santa Gertrudis, which is a popular choice with families looking for a quiet family getaway and features pretty streets to explore as well as plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy. It’s not uncommon for families who visit the village to spend time relaxing and dining on tapas in the rustic bar that overlooks the main square, where children can play safely, before visiting the well-maintained local park. The village is famous for its arty vibe, so any young art enthusiasts are sure to be in their element here, enjoying the little galleries and street art in the area. If you happen to visit in August, you’ll be able to enjoy the art fair that takes place in the main square, an event that is popular with both visitors and locals.
Santa Gertrudis is not located far from Ibiza town, where you’ll find plenty on offer in the way of family-friendly activities, including water parks, horse riding, cave diving, aquariums and Jeep excursions. Of course, no holiday to Ibiza would be complete without a trip to the beach, and Oliver recommends that families visit Cala Llonga, an especially child-friendly beach that features both a children’s playground and a mini amusement park, as well as amenities such as toilets and beach bar. Cala Llenya is another beach that is great for families with children; there’s plenty of shade here, which makes it a good spot for picnics, and the shallow waters make it perfect for both toddlers and older kids to wade and paddle safely.

WOW! What a wonderful 8 days we spent at this villa! Cool pool area with the Ibicenco style. I would strongly recommend anyone to book this wonderful place. We went as two families, although we managed a night at Pacha!!! Perfect for families, couples and groups who are looking for a chilled out Ibiza experience.
