The hamlet of Es Cubells is Ibiza’s southernmost village. Despite its tiny size, the special clifftop location affords this village a unique charm and the most spectacular sea views. The origins of the clifftop church date back to the nineteenth century. There are some gorgeous beaches close by including Cala des Cubells, Ses Bouquets and Cala Llentrisca and a little further away Es Torrent, Porroig and Cala Jondal. Es Cubells is the start of Ibiza’s prestigious ‘golden mile’ which runs to Porroig. It is a much sought after destination.
 
Casa Castel looks like an imposing modern fortress with magnificent double-height windows and warming honey-coloured stone and render. It is seriously impressive. The plot is fantastic with huge lawns, a rustic flagged terrace and lush, tree-filled gardens. Behind the villa, dark forests of fragrant pines creep up the craggy hillsides, and in front, there are breathtaking stretches of shimmering Mediterranean sea. Quality sun loungers and daybeds deck the grassy banks of lawn surrounding the pool together with mature trees offering some dappled shade. You can relax poolside under the shady canopy of the gazebo or soak up the glorious Ibizan sunshine, topping up your tan. You certainly feel away from it all at this secluded, private villa.
 
The raised terrace is home to a relaxed dining and lounge scene with colourful seating arrangements. A second alfresco dining space is located alongside the kitchen, to the side of the villa. There are low cushions and lots of options for lazing and admiring the splendid views.
 
The striking living space is double-height and open plan. The room glows with the warm tones of the walls and accessories. There is a fabulous, rustic dining table and a well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs, the bohemian vibe continues though into the three bedrooms. The master suite boasts a feature bathroom, a fireplace, kingsize bed and two terraces. The second double also benefits from a private terrace and ensuite bathroom. It has a queen-size bed and it very charming. The third bedrooms offer twin beds, a private terrace, ensuite bathroom and a lounge area with a daybed that could accommodate an extra person if desired.
 
Casa Castell is certainly a little different from your average contemporary villa. It oozes warm and happy vibes with its bohemian charm.

THE REGION

Although set just outside the buzz of the village of San José, Es Cubells is distant enough to create a wonderful feeling of seclusion. As you drive past traditional fincas and rural farmland plus olive and orange groves, the pressure of everyday life seems to just slip away.

The exclusive, ultra-private properties peppered along the rocky cliffside are contemporary and luxurious in style yet possess an air of laid-back chic, setting the scene for the ultimate Mediterranean getaway.

Typical Spanish cuisine can be found in the two restaurants in the little village – take your pick between Bar Llumbi Restaurante – famous for mama’s pork chops and tasty tapas dishes – overlooking the sea, or tuck into hearty plates like grilled meats, whole fish baked in salt, paella or typical Ibicenco dishes including bullit de peix or guisat de peix on the sunny terrace of Bar Restaurante Es Cubells just opposite the church.

Casa Castel is perfect for a family holiday. The gardens are incredible with sprawling lawns and a fabulous swimming pool.
 
There are some very pretty little coves close to the villa including Cala des Cubells, Ses Bouquets and Cala Llentrisca. Just along the coast is Es Torrent which is another quiet beach, mostly pebbles but with a strip of sand. Further still is Cala Jondal. In the other direction, you can head to Cala d’Hort and Cala Tarida.
 
A really good excursion is the stunning Parc Natural de Ses Salines. The spectacular wetlands are home to 210 species of birds. The sparkling salt pans and breathtaking sandy beaches are fabulous. The sunsets are mesmerizing, as are the flocks of migrating hot-pink flamingoes that arrive in the park between August and October for the winter.
 
San Antonio is very busy with much entertainment for children. Aquarium Cap Blanc is located in a sea cave where local fishermen used to set their lobster traps. Five openings in the rocks allow seawater to flow freely in and out of the cave, so it is the perfect temperature for the animals living inside. There is a range of marine species, including octopus, grouper, rays, morays and conger. Aquarium Cap Blanc is also a recuperation centre for sea turtles. You can buy packs of food for the fish. Beside the waterfront in San Antonio, there is a fairground with slingshot, dodgems, trampolines and bucking broncos. In the bay, Ocean Mania, an inflatable water obstacle course will keep children very happy.
 
Acrobosc Adventure Park at S’Argamassa, between Santa Eulalia and Es Canar, is set in an attractive, fragrant pine forest. It boasts thrilling ziplines, trampolines, slides, nets, ladders, climbing walls, tightropes and rope bridges all the family from 3 years old. It is a great challenge as well as being good fun. Children can also horse ride and cycle on the island.

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit €3,000 charged to client’s credit card by the owner before/upon arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.

End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Linen & towels included? Bed linen, bath and pool towels are included in the rental price.
Energy costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Heating costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.
