Casa Soleada’s special location, just a few hundred metres from Cala Conta sunset beach is wonderful. Cala Conta has two main coves, one backed by a rugged, rocky coastline and the other by picturesque sand dunes. There are several buzzy bars and restaurants. Cala Contita is Cala Conta’s little sister beach. Just south of the beach is the famous, mythical ‘Rave Cave’, home to the Ibiza Rave in a Cave party. It is also famous for yoga sessions. On the hill above Cala Codolar, 3km from Cala Conta, is Ibiza-Henge, a monument with 13 huge Basalt columns arranged in a semi-circle which vaguely resembles Stonehenge.

San Antonio is just 15 minutes from the villa. It is a lively resort set in a beautiful open bay. The sunset cafes, bars and clubs are legendary. There are many boat excursions from the resort, boat parties and watersports. There are several superclubs, Es Paradis and Eden, for the clubbers and a pool party venue, Ibiza Rocks Hotel.

The rocky island of Es Vedra stands 400m high, 2km off the coast opposite the beach of Cala d’Hort. It is shrouded in myths and legends, the most popular being that is it the third most magnetic spot on earth. Many believe that the island is possessed of positive healing and creatively-inspiring energy.

Ibiza Town is incredibly diverse. The highest area is the World Heritage-listed Dalt Vila. It is very picturesque with centuries-old mansions, steep, atmospheric cobbled streets, jasmine draped balconies and a majestic Gothic cathedral. The buzzing nightlife is legendary. The Marina Botafoch is very trendy with chic bars and restaurants and gorgeous boutiques. The Pacha nightclub is world-famous and attracts the best DJ’s. There are also some amazing art galleries and history museums.

San Jose is a charming village in the foothills of Sa Talaia, the highest mountain on the island. There is a lovely Saturday morning market where around 20 stalls offer local and organic produce including fruit, vegetables, home-made bread and pastries. There are also artists selling paintings, ceramics and sculptures. The restaurants and bars are outstanding.

San Agustin is also worth a visit. It is one of the prettiest and best-preserved villages on Ibiza, halfway between San Antonio and San Jose. You can visit the stone tower, the parish house and the church which was first blessed in 1806. From the church square, you will admire the fantastic, panoramic view of the impressive San Jose hills and open countryside.

THE REGION

One of Ibiza’s most magnificent resorts, Ibiza beach Cala Tarida is the longest and widest beach of fine white sand on the island’s west coast. Famous for her beautiful blue, turquoise and emerald green waters, Ibiza beach Cala Tarida’s sandy shores have a bit of something for everyone – including beach volleyball, water sports, and even a diving school.

Behind the beach are well-urbanised hills with a large hotel club just behind, the convenience of this making Cala Tarida a popular family beach. There are also shops right on the beach to buy inflatables, snorkel gear and beach balls if you wish to do more than simply sunbathe.

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Cala Conta Beach has three beautiful beach areas to explore. There are pedalos that children love and plenty of restaurants and bars. There are some lovely views of the little islands dotted near the coastline, beautiful turquoise waters and lots of sand dunes.

Children love a visit to caves, and on Ibiza, you can visit the stunning Can Marca Caves. It is a series of eerie caverns full of stalagmites and stalactites with multi-coloured lights that light the path. Smugglers originally used the caves to store their contraband. At the end of the tour, you will be treated to a spectacular music and light show with a 30ft water cascade. Children love it!

From San Antonia, children will enjoy a glass-bottomed Capitan Nemo boat trip. You will have a unique view of the seabed and marine life with stops for swimming and snorkelling. If you are lucky, you may even see dolphins. There is no charge for children under 7.

You can experience a secretive north side of the island by horseback. Ibiza Horse Valley is a horse rehabilitation program created in 2010 to save horses from mistreatment and abandonment. The rescued horses live on the sanctuary in a herd. Horse Valley offers half and full-day riding tours through the mountains and to the beach for visitors aged 12 and over.

Acrobosc Adventure Park at S’Argamassa, between Santa Eulalia and Es Canar, boasts thrilling ziplines, trampolines, slides, nets, ladders, climbing walls, tightropes and rope bridges which run through the pine forests. The park is for visitors aged three and over. There are three different circuits.

Playa d’en Bossa’s Aguamar Water Park boasts white-knuckle slides, chutes, tubes and pools for all ages. The Kamikaze and Black Hole slides are very popular. Playa d’en Bossa has a fabulous beach which you can visit on the same day.

Punta Arabi is the oldest and biggest Hippy Market on the island with over 500 artisans, designers and craftsmen. Young children can make flower crowns, create their own t-shirts and get their face painted. There are many more Hippy Markets on the island, which are great fun for families.

Puig des Molins is the oldest necropolis in Ibiza. If your children are interested in history, there are over 3000 tombs that date back to the 7th century BC and the Phoenician times. You can descend into one series of interlocking caverns within the hillside and visit the interesting museum.
