Villa Yaco is a beautiful and private four-bedroom villa situated in the pretty town of Arguineguin, one of the island’s most-visited destinations. Oozing with traditional style and set over one single, spacious storey, this stunning holiday home is the perfect choice for those holidaying with children, older guests, or those with limited mobility - anyone who wants to enjoy a comfortable and luxurious stay in the heart of Gran Canaria.
The interior of this beautiful white-washed villa is modern and stylish throughout, with a light, neutral decor that perfectly showcases the colourful soft furnishings and contemporary-style design features. The large living area with its spot-lighted ceiling is bright and welcoming, featuring huge plump sofas, well-crafted furniture and a 75-inch flatscreen smart TV, perfect for a cosy evening’s entertainment with the whole family. There’s plenty of indoor dining space for everyone, with a large white dining table that can easily accommodate up to ten guests, and through large double doors, you can access the villa’s spacious and well-equipped kitchen. There’s ample room here for you and your guests to cook together without getting in each other’s way, and plenty of quality appliances such as an oven, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and dishwasher, as well as a washing machine and dryer - ideal for those who are enjoying an extended stay here at Villa Yaco.
The villa’s four bedrooms are bright and roomy, with a light grey and white decor and rich wooden accents. The master bedroom features a double bed, air-conditioning and stylish built-in wardrobes, as well as an ensuite bathroom for added convenience. The other three rooms share the same neutral decor, and all have well-spaced twin beds - ideal for children of most ages or groups of friends holidaying together. Guests staying in these rooms share a second bathroom with shower facilities.
The outdoor spaces at Villa Yaco are fabulous, consisting of a large terrace that features both a dining and barbecue area for alfresco meals and a covered chillout area which is fully furnished with comfortable lounge furniture - a great spot for enjoying after-dinner drinks and conversations as the sun goes down over the mountains. A wonderful addition that the kids will adore is the villa’s sandy ‘beach’ area, complete with loungers and little palm trees, and after a relaxing day of soaking up the sun, why not take a dip in the villa’s large private pool, before heading to the poolside sofa-swing to enjoy a glass of something bubbly as you take in the gorgeous atmosphere.

The villa is located after kilometer 9 of the Cercados de Espino general road, a valley halfway between the Pajar de Arguineguín area and the Soria dam where calm abounds and tranquility is breathed.

About the surrounding area of Villa YacoIf you’re searching for a destination that promises a peaceful and relaxing island holiday away from noisy bars and clubs, a stay in the town of Arguineguin could be just what you’re looking for! Arguineguin is one of the largest towns in the south, with a wonderful local feel and a quieter atmosphere than the popular resorts of Maspalomas, Puerto Rico or Playa del Ingles.
One of the main beaches here in the town is Playa Las Maranuelas, famous for its beautiful sunsets and calm, clear waters. You can rent umbrellas and sunbeds here, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance from here, including the all-you-can-eat-style Restaurante El Marino, which serves fresh cooked-on-the-spot cuisine rather than buffet-style fare. Playa de Arguineguin is another beach well worth visiting and is one of the biggest attractions on the coast, especially as it is located close to the Arguineguin market, which is held here every Tuesday and is comprised of vendors and stalls that travels around the island on different days of the week. Here you can also enjoy spectacular sunsets, and on days of high visibility, it’s possible to see Mount Tiede in Tenerife. For families with young children, La Lajilla is the most popular beach in the town, thanks to its safe and sheltered location that keeps it protected from the waves and ocean currents and amenities such as showers, sunbeds and umbrellas.
Snorkelling excursions are very popular with visitors to the town, offering guests a three-hour experience that includes learning how to use the equipment and how to dive. Expert guides will lead you to the best spots, pointing out and identifying an array of local marine life - it’s an experience not to be missed. If you fancy seeing some of the local wildlife without getting your feet (too) wet, Oliver recommends a speed boat trip out to the open ocean, where you’ll be able to spot dolphins and whales in their natural environment. Most of these trips start from nearby Puerto Rico and include refreshments as well as a swim break for those who want to get out in the ocean.

Just like the other Canary Islands, it is blessed with an enviable climate, an eternal springtime that invites you to experience its rich natural and scenic diversity intensely, its lovely fishing and inland villages, its traditions, culture and history. And also the modernity of the tourist resorts and urban hubs, like Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The lively, cosmopolitan city is home to one of the most precious gems the island has to offer, and that also surprises visitors.

Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Yaco, with its single-storey layout and spacious twin rooms, is a great choice of accommodation for families with children. You’ll find plenty of space both inside and out to hang out together and eat as a family, and the kids can enjoy familiar home comforts such as a large flat screen TV and WiFi. Outside you’ll find shaded areas for keeping the kids out of the sun, and the private pool is sure to be a hit with children of all ages and can be easily accessed via either Roman steps or a ladder. It’s worth noting that the pool is unfenced, and the walkway around it is narrow in places, so the little ones will need to be well supervised. The villa’s outdoor beach area is a charming addition for the children, with soft sand, small palm trees and loungers, which makes a great space for the kids to play.
The villa is located in the town of Arguineguin, a quiet, family-friendly spot which is perfectly suited for those wanting to enjoy a relaxing and peaceful holiday. There are lots of great beaches in the area, including Playa la Carrera, which is a smaller and less popular beach that is ideal for families looking for somewhere quiet and secluded. If you’re travelling with older children, Oliver recommends taking the coastal walk to Anfi del Mar beach, one of the most beautiful in Gran Canaria. Here you can enjoy great amenities such as sun loungers and umbrellas, showers and on-site lifeguards, as well as golden sands and wonderfully clear waters that are ideal for swimming.
There’s plenty to do here in the town as a family, including sailing, fishing and mini-golf, as well as whale-watching tours and glass-bottom boat trips. You’ll find plenty of family-friendly restaurants here, mostly serving up fresh fish and seafood that has been caught by local fishermen, as well as lots of places selling ice creams and refreshments. If you fancy travelling a little further afield, the popular resort of Maspalomas is around a 20-minute drive away, and here you’ll find the popular Palmitos Park, an interactive zoological and botanical centre that lets guests get up close and personal with exotic birds like parrots, toucans and flamingos. Children of all ages will delight in a walk around the butterfly house before heading to see reptiles such as komodo dragons, caiman and turtles. If cute and furry is more their thing, the park also houses a wide array of cuddly-looking critters, including meerkats, aardvarks and wallabies, that the kids will adore!

A lovely large property
A lovely large property with several separate areas inside and outside which is great for larger groups to spread out. The house is located away from all of the touristy areas between two mountains so very remote, beautiful scenery and very few neighbours, we only met the chickens from the farm next door! The house is located on the road side which we didn’t realise when booking. However it’s a very quiet area so not a busy road, the house is raised one flight of steps from the ground level/road and there are high walls and a high, electronic gate which blocks the view of the road and ensures safety. It takes about 15 minutes to drive to the closest town. The house had everything we needed including an outside bathroom which was very handy. The house owner was great, he cleaned the pool, brought us mangoes and oranges from his house/farm and gave us lots of useful information! All in all, it was a lovely house and we would definitely stay there again if in the area.

Vi var två familjer med en ettåring och två tonåringar som bodde i detta hus vecka 44. Vi är otroligt nöjda med vistelsen, huset är fräscht och stämmer väl överens med bilderna. Låg fint mellan bergen. Fruktträden och det lilla gymmet hade vi inte noterat så ett stort plus! Uppvärmning av poolen betalde vi extra för och det rekommenderas, väl värt. Bil är ett måste och det är smidigt att åka till matbutiker med bra utbud och att ta sig vidare till havet och annat. Bra och snabb kontakt med hjälpsamma personer som är knutna till huset.

We really liked staying here with a group of 7. Especially the outside area was lovely. We would definitly stay here again. Highly recommend it.

Excelente villa
Con todo lo que se necesita para pasar unos días relajados en una zona tranquila, donde predomina el buen tiempo. Zona rodeada de árboles frutales, con amplia piscina. Dispone de barbacoa, de zona exterior muy cuidada, al igual que el interior de la vivienda. Es de agradecer también disponer de espacio para poder dejar varios coches dentro. Tiene una zona con algunos útiles para hacer ejercicio (pequeño gimnasio). En definitiva un lugar para repetir sin ninguna duda.
