Set in the idyllic landscape of the Alps, with a dramatic, breath-taking backdrop, there is hardly a more romantic setting than the home of Chalet Florence.
The large dining area is incredibly open and spacious, with a long table alongside the fireplace and beautiful living room! The wood-panelled walls throughout add a touch of elegance and country charm all at once. The living areas are completed by delightful furnishings, including a bookshelf and dressing table, large comfortable sofas and coffee table areas with seating.
The tones are neutral throughout, soft lilac and greys, complementing the many shades of wood and stones. An American kitchen is fully equipped with all modern amenities, including a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge, plus all crockery and pans, allowing guests to prepare their meals should they wish.
There are five bedrooms in total, two doubles, one twin and two triples. All five are luxurious, cosy and comfortable. Several of the bedrooms have direct access to the terrace or a balcony. Each of the five bedrooms has an adjoining bathroom, adding a sense of privacy and luxury to each. The many bedrooms are incredibly spacious, allowing you the room to unwind at the end of a long day on the slopes.
Elevated location ensures sublime views all year round, with snowy mountains in the winter, flourishing fauna and flora in the summertime and unbeatable night-skies every evening.
Take in the sublime views from your very own terrace and enjoy a little star-gazing on the clear nights! With a fabulous sauna, you can be sure to stay relaxed, content and soothed throughout your stay, even after a long day of skiing, cycling, hiking and any of the hundreds of activities in between.
Just 500m away is the main ski life, served by a free shuttle bus from your chalet throughout the day, keeping you easily connected, while the centre of Alpe d'Huez itself is about 1 km away. Within this radius, there are numerous bars, restaurants and boutiques. Resort also has as a swimming pool, leisure centre, ice rink and cinema.
What you should know…
- Ski-out includes a very short blue run down to the Bergers lift, so complete novice skiers are better off getting a free shuttle to the ski-school meeting point
- You’re a little way out from the local village, with a walk back up the hill to get home – unless you take advantage of the free shuttle bus!

Just under 2 hours from Grenoble airport, you can access this resort with ease, from anywhere in the world! Alpe d'Huez ski area encompasses an altitude range of 1130m-3330m, including one of Europe’s largest nursery areas, ideal for beginners, as well as a huge range of blue and red pistes.
Around the resort you will find the gentler slopes, where beginners can start to find their feet, while those more experienced can head straight to the lifts at Les Bergers, your gateway to the 250km of linked pistes on offer, including 17 black slopes, 39 red slopes, 38 blue slopes and 41 green slopes!
Resort hosts a wide variety of eateries, from pizzerias and cafés to more high-end restaurants, and everything in between! By night, the town comes alive – with pubs, clubs and often live music events, you can be sure to find the perfect spot to dance, sing and party late into the night. With five ski resorts in total and two traditional mountain villages, there’s plenty of action and something for everyone!
Of course, Alpe D’Huez is famous as a winter sports paradise, but there are endless activities on offer all year round! The range of activities for you enjoy depends on the time of year you choose to visit. The Palais des Sports leisure centre available for a range of indoor sports, as well as offering an ice rink and a swimming pool! Out on the mountain, you can try some thrilling sports, including ice climbing, snowmobiling, ski joëring and husky sledging – and even paragliding or a helicopter ride is on the menu if you’re feeling brave!
For a slightly slower pace, simply treat yourself to a trip to the spa in the local town. And that’s just on land!

Across the undulating, beautiful landscape you will find endless opportunities for an active day out with all the family, all year round! You can ski directly onto the gentle slopes around the resort, right outside your front door! In addition to tons of exhilarating winter-sports like husky-sledging and ice-climbing!
Meanwhile, indoors at the local sports centre, the Palais des Sports, you will find all manner of facilities for the whole family to enjoy, including climbing, squash, tennis, indoor and outdoor swimming and badminton, as well as an ice rink in the winter!
