The Resort
Picturesque St Martin de Belleville is the gateway to the Trois Vallées ski system, and what you might call the quiet little brother of the famous ski family. Not much goes on at this resort except for high-quality snow sports, and that’s just the way we like it. St Martin remains an old Savoyard village with a majestic church tower at its centre and more locals than tourists. Its charm lies in small-scale excellence and a well-kept sense that you are not staying at a ski resort but in an old alpine community. Life here is slow-paced, relaxed and quintessentially French.
This family resort is excellent for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Across the 78 slopes, the best runs are long, rolling, and just the right degree of challenging. In the winters you are pretty much guaranteed good snow coverage due to the close proximity to Val Thorens, but because of the relatively low altitude of St Martin village, you might want to rethink a late-season even though pistes stay open until April. Sailing down the slopes of St Martin de Belleville you’ll get familiar with some seriously attractive views and gorgeous wooded landscapes. Overall there are 1448 metres of downhill skiing available and on top of that you can, of course, gain access to the rest of the Three Valleys system.
Fair warning, St Martin is not the place to go for parties. If its après-ski you’re after, then you’re better off staying in neighbouring Méribel. There are a few bars around town, but no real nightclubs. Instead, spend the evening at one of the many top-notch restaurants as the village is known for its gourmet cuisine (including the triple Michelin starred La Bouitte). Although it is a small town, there is a lot of variety when it comes to food. But before heading to your restaurant, make sure to catch one of the après-ski concerts held in the town church.
Kids

This enchanting chalet's unique heritage and the amenities it offers make it the perfect setting for an unforgettable family getaway. The chalet's historic past, once a stable and barn where a family found refuge from the biting cold alongside their animals, adds a touch of magic for children. It's a place where stories of the past come to life, sparking children's imaginations and connecting them with the history of this charming alpine village.
The chalet's spacious 460 sqm layout provides ample room for children to roam and play freely. With six en-suite bedrooms, there's plenty of space for kids to have their own private corners and enjoy a sense of independence while still being close to their parents. In addition, including home comforts such as WiFi and TVs and amenities such as a cot and highchair mean that guests of all ages can stay comfortable and entertained during their stay.
The chalet's location, just a stone's throw from Place de l'Eglise, brings a sense of convenience that's especially important when travelling with children. The proximity to shops and restaurants means you're always close from essentials and family-friendly dining options.
For little ones just starting their skiing adventures, the Village ski lift, accessible from the village square, is incredibly convenient. It eliminates the need for long walks or transportation logistics, making it easy for parents to introduce their children to the joys of skiing. Additionally, the presence of a free shuttle bus that runs past the chalet to the Saint Martin gondola is a game-changer for families. It ensures that getting to the 3 Vallées slopes is a breeze, making it simpler for parents to enjoy quality skiing time with their children.
In the summer, the alpine surroundings offer a delightful playground for children, with hiking, exploring, and enjoying the fresh mountain air. The tranquil village and its friendly locals create a safe and welcoming environment for families, further enhancing the child-friendly appeal of this chalet.
