Overview
Located in the very centre of Courchevel, Apartment Fils is blessed with elegance and sophistication, making it an exceptional property for a vacation. It’s perfectly poised to be a launchpad into the surrounding area and is located mere metres from the ski school and slopes.
The property itself is bright and airy, decorated in muted colours and maximising the light available outside. It is utterly contemporary in style and brings a sense of mature playfulness and coy cosiness whilst remaining utterly practical, convenient and fully functional.
Merging warm wood, solid stone and fun furnishings, you’ll soon feel right at home here. The apartment extends across 102m² and boasts two bedrooms, both with en suites, and is able to accommodate seven guests. Whether you’re travelling with family, friends or colleagues, this is a comfortable and chic abode.
Spend your days enjoying the adrenaline and adventure of the slopes before retreating to your private terrace. From here, you can take in the beguiling mountain views and spend time relaxing those achy muscles in your very own outdoor hot tub.
With access to a ski room and underground parking space, you’ll have everything required to meet your needs. The lounge area is a truly inviting space with warming wooden touches, a comfortable sofa and an extendable chair that’s bound to be fought over! Enjoy a game of cards, cheery conversation, a glass of wine or your favourite show on TV. The open plan space also boasts a dining area for more formal gatherings and a fully equipped kitchen, all decorated in light, bright colours and with exquisite soft furnishings. The terrace sits just beyond and is inviting both day and night, where you can enjoy very different vistas – the snow-capped luminous beauty of the day and the magical, festive majesty of the night.
The kitchen boasts a sleek majesty with decadent elongated lights, appealing artwork and gorgeous outdoor views. The bedrooms continue with a mature yet cutesy theme, decked out with stunning natural artwork, fluffy pillows and muted colours to promote a gentle night's sleep. Pop on your white robe and lounge about, or enjoy an enjoyable bath following a day of adrenaline. There’s also a pleasant space to do your own laundry, which also doubles as a separate shower area.
It would be all too easy to spend all your time within the apartment – an idyllic space to hibernate, recuperate, daydream, write, meditate, read and make memories with loved ones, but with so much to explore beyond; it also makes an ideal haven to return to when the day is done.
What you should know…
- If you’re pursuing roaring nightlife, Courchevel may not be quite the right fit. Although it has a flourishing apres-ski scene, it’s not infamous for nightlife.
- You might not consider sunscreen and skiing would factor into the same sentence, but the sun can catch you out here. Make sure to pack a suitable sunscreen and sunglasses.
- Layers, layers, layers! That’s the key to dressing in the mountains!

Location
About the surrounding area of Apartment FilsYou’re based in the very centre of Courchivel, a true skiers paradise. This is an ideal location, rendering you in close proximity to everything you could need in this most dazzling part of the world. The area is home to one of the world’s most popular ski resorts, ideal for both beginners and hardened veterans. The diverse terrain ensures that skiers can enjoy a range of versatile slopes, from those that border on the gentle to those ideally suited to those with more devil-may-care temperaments.
People are drawn to the area for two key reasons – a sense of adventure and the ability to unwind in a winter wonderland that conveys an eternal sense of Christmas. Have you ever wondered what it might be like to live in a Hallmark film? Wonder no more.
Connected to several major airports, you can easily arrive from Lyon, Geneva, Chambery or Grenoble within three hours, and from the airport, there is a vast array of transport options available to you, including a private taxi, rental service and shuttle service.
The ravishing natural beauty you’ll find here is hard to articulate and has to be seen to be believed. The Alps are, of course, a truly beguiling wonder; the woods are enchanting, and the small villages beam with life and tradition. There’s something truly idyllic about this area, and if you let it, it can transport you away from the troubles of the wider world.
You’re 200 m from TC Ariondaz, the nearest ski lift, and 200 m from the closest slope, Moriond. It’s the same distance to the nearest ski school where you can familiarise yourself with the equipment and techniques required.
Many may come here to ski, but it’s not all the area has to offer, so if skiing doesn’t factor into your to-do list, you’ll find plenty more to entertain you.
Adrenaline junkies may enjoy paragliding amongst the peaks for spellbinding views of the vast natural beauty here. Others may long to explore the mountain by horse-drawn sleigh – a very traditional method of transport. Others still may enjoy spending time in the village, with its many shops and its compelling atmosphere.
If the way to your heart is through your stomach, enjoy the exciting foodie scene. There’s a real French flair here, so ensure that you tuck into golden pastries, grab a hot chocolate and enjoy a gourmet dining experience.

The Resort
Courchevel is made up of six satellite villages, each with their own distinct style and atmosphere, and picturesque forest roads to lead you in-between. Most well known is the illustrious Courchevel 1850 with its reputation for exclusivity and an A-List clientele. 1850 is certainly the place to go for five-star hotels, swanky bars and extravagant nightlife. The other Courchevel villages (such as Courchevel Moriond) have a much more laid back vibe and are certainly the more affordable choice.
The skiing in Courchevel is split into four levels and you can take an excellent free ski bus in between. At the resort itself you have 150 kilometres of pistes at your feet and while you can get a Courchevel lift-pass you can also ski the whole of the Three Valleys with an area-pass. Since the slopes here face north, the snow at Courchevel is more reliable than elsewhere in the Three Valleys. Courchevel pistes are absolutely unrivaled, meticulously maintained and perfectly positioned to align with the landscape.
With its highest lift at 2740m altitude, Courchevel is exceptionally good for high altitude skiing with incredible alpine views, and the most impressive runs are best suited for intermediate and advanced skiers. But for the little ones just finding their snow legs, the resort has a fantastic children’s village where they can learn in a stress-free environment. Ski season here lasts until late April and even if you prefer not to ski at all, you’ll be well entertained with everything from scenic walks to classical music concerts.
In the evenings, the Courchevel night skies are lit up by spectacular firework displays that could get anyone in the mood for a night on the town. The bars here are a good mix of casual and upmarket, so there’s plenty for all tastes to enjoy when it comes to après-ski. Courchevel also has a well-earned reputation for being the best ski resort when it comes to gastronomy.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesYou’ll find many families here, each looking for their own slice of magic. Whether they’re drawn to the splendid and governing French Alps, want to teach their children to ski and master the tricky slopes, or are tracking an eternal Christmas, families are a fixture here.
There’s a hearty picturesque atmosphere here, which is contagious and warming, wholesome like a big bowl of nutritious soup on a cold day. It’s fantastically safe, and there’s plenty to do. Your apartment is ideal for family life, with all the amenities and facilities you might need, and with a central location, you’re close to the heart of the action. Spend some time indoors making meals, eating together, playing games and cards and watching TV before cuddling up in your cosy warm beds. The staggering views outside will certainly tempt you from the chalet soon enough, and when they do, you’ll find there’s plenty of entertainment at your disposal.
You might like to head to the ski school and start cracking the challenge that draws so many to the mountains. With such varied and diverse terrain, there’s a slope for every standard of skier, from the well-versed to the novice. Children will need lessons to understand safety on the slopes, how to use the equipment and how to approach skiing. As you might expect, children tend to be better skiers than adults due to their lower centre of gravity and flexibility. They still need to ski safely, of course, but tend to jump into it with a careless enthusiasm and trust that many adults don’t possess!
Spend some time in the local village, where you can enjoy shopping and eating. There’s also bowling and the Aquamotion sports centre right in the heart of town. Head here to enjoy swimming in the indoor pools, scootching down one of the many water slides, or a vigorous and competitive game of bowling.
