Overview

Ski Chalet Self-Catered Ideal for Kids Walk to Village Parking Space

Engulfed by wild, snowy peaks, Chalet Alouette is a charming three-bedroom winter retreat for six in Cimalpes Méribel Village. Tucked in the valley of Les Allues, one of the largest and most sought-after ski areas in the world, the chalet has easy access to gorgeous tree-lined pistes, modern ski lifts and downhill skiing runs.

The chalet combines the rustic charm of an Alpine ski cabin with the luxuries of modern living. Its mountain-style architecture blends perfectly with the surroundings, making you feel at harmony with nature. Spend leisurely hours in the sprawling outdoor area, which looks as stunning in soft daylight as it does cover in pillowy snow.

The living room is bright and airy, with glossy wooden furniture, comfy grey couches and dewy white walls. It offers a cosy refuge after a hard day of skiing, where you can relax and regale each other with stories from the day. Large French windows allow plenty of natural light and open on to the lush outdoors.

Enjoy intimate family meals at the 4-seater dining table. If you’re travelling with toddlers, you can request highchairs to make them comfortable. Apres-dinner, settle down in the TV lounge and catch up on your favourite shows.

The kitchen is roomy and well-equipped with sleek countertops and wooden cabinetry. It includes a coffee machine, ceramic hobs, dishwasher, kettle and a microwave-oven combination.

All three bedrooms are bright and roomy, with wooden furnishing. The master bedroom has a luxurious double bed and an en-suite bathroom — with a shower, sink, toilet and towel dryer. It has a private balcony, from where you can soak in panoramic views while sipping on your morning coffee. The other two bedrooms also have double beds and a common bathroom. You can request a baby cot for the little ones.

Other facilities include a ski locker and ample parking space.

As part of Les Trois Vallées — the largest ski area in the world, Chalet Alouette promises a winter experience unlike any other.

The Resort

Méribel is a village with a true alpine heart. You won’t find blocks of hotels and purpose-built facilities here. Instead, the compact and lively town centre is picture-postcard perfect, and its atmosphere is quaint and fairytale-like. It is without a doubt the most romantic resort in the area and if you’re planning a couples holiday in the snow you’ll definitely want to take a closer look at Méribel.

At the centre of the world famous Trois Vallées (Three Valleys), Méribel makes up part of the largest ski domain in the world. Across the valleys, it has six sister resorts. You can either get a single-resort lift pass and keep to the fantastic beginner and intermediate terrain there, but you also have the option of purchasing a pass that covers the whole area.

The advanced lift system at Méribel will let you maximise your time on the snow and make sure you’re not waiting around in queues. With 67 runs to try out just in the resort itself, there is no time to be wasted. Just beware of the afternoon sun cutting things short on the west-facing slopes and prepare to get up with the sun if you’re after untouched powder. At it’s highest skiing point Méribel reaches an altitude of 2952 metres and the descent from this point is known to be one of the most scenic runs around.

Aside from the world-class skiing, Méribel is also known to be one of the liveliest resorts in the Three Valleys. Many of its residents and bar-owners (as well as plenty of its visitors) are expat-Brits who certainly know how to party. The après-ski scene here is truly top-notch!

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

The chalet promises a grand time for kids. They can build snowmen, play-fight with snowballs and indulge in a variety of activities like hiking, horse riding and cycling.

After a long day outdoors, make them comfortable in the TV lounge where they can watch their favourite cartoons. Treat them to warm bubble baths in the luxurious tub. If you wish to arrange for highchairs or baby cots, the staff will be happy to help.

Blessed with an enviable location, the chalet is also at an easy distance from nursery slopes, delightful ice-skating rinks and other kid-friendly winter activities. Make sure to check with staff for details about ski schools and kid-friendly spots in the neighbourhood.

Meribel is a joyland for the entire family, with many activities specially designed for kids. Head to Olympic Park and have a blast on the ice-skating rink. Little ones can show off their motor skills in the bowling alley, which has a few lanes specifically meant for children over three. Enjoy hours of splashy fun in the indoor swimming pool, which includes a kids’ section.

Tuck into Cinéma du Mottaret, a cosy one-screen experience, which shows children’s films every evening.

Take an unforgettable hot air balloon ride over snowy forests and majestic peaks at Courchevel Altiport, which is about 45 mins by car from Meribel Centre.

After all this excitement, the little ones surely deserve treats. At Rond Point restaurant, they can enjoy the best ice cream sundaes in town. For something savoury, dip into a bowl of cheesy fondue at La Fromagerie.
