Owned by former members of the British Ski Team, this beautiful five-bedroom chalet is spread across four levels and designed with every comfort in mind for skiers looking to enjoy a luxurious Alpine escape. Heralded around the world as one of the best chalets in the entire French Alps, the excitement for your stay at Le Grand Palandger starts long before you arrive.
Once you do arrive, you'll be hard-pressed not to fall in love with the sophisticated rustic charm of this delightful traditional chalet. Dressed in soft modern decor that perfectly compliments the traditional wood and grey brick interiors, Le Grand Palandger is truly a cut above the rest.
Recently renovated, Le Grand Palandger spares no expense when it comes to ensuring your comfort during your stay. Your entrance floor opens up to a warm welcoming entrance space with boot and equipment storage located at the end of the hallway.
Moving upstairs, you'll find your breath taken away by the majesty of the main floor - with a huge lounge dressed in comfortable sofas and chairs warmed by a large open fireplace at the centre of the room. Large grand windows surround the space, flooding it with natural light and allowing unrivalled views of the surrounding landscape. Through a door to the back of the room, a recently-modernised kitchen and dining space await. Your kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious homecooked meals while the large family-style table is perfect for enjoying them with your guests.
Your five bedrooms are spread across the chalet's different levels with the first bedroom tucked away on the main level. This comfortable twin room offers gorgeous views of the Méribel scenery and has a private en-suite bathroom. Two additional bedrooms are located on the top floor, one another double room with an en-suite bathroom and the other a double room with access to a shared bathroom.
The fourth bedroom is located alone on the lower level of the property, with two twin beds and access to a shared bathroom while bedroom five sits opposite the entrance hall, beneath the chalet's eaves, with twin beds and use of a shared bathroom.
Each bedroom is decorated simply and elegantly, helping you to get a good night's rest in maximum comfort.

About the surrounding area of Le Grand PalandgerMéribel resort is a gorgeous place to base yourselves for your next ski holiday. Hosts of the 1992 Winter Olympics, people fell in love with Méribel so much they’ve been kept coming back every year since. Popular with beginners and experts alike, even the British Ski Team love their little Méribel chalet and return to it whenever they can. But, for those times when they’re not hitting the pistes, it’s all yours to enjoy instead.
Getting to Le Grand Palandger is relatively straightforward, with ample parking on-site meaning you can drive yourself from home or from the nearest airport. For Méribel, the easiest airport is Geneva which is around a two-hour drive away.
Once settled in Méribel, you can begin to explore and discover the area. Especially popular thanks to its magnificent views, tranquil location and proximity to nearby amenities, Le Grand Palandger is never too far from where you need to be.
Most of Méribel is easily accessible on foot, so you likely won’t need a car to get around during your stay. However, a car may be beneficial if you wish to explore additional locations.
From Le Grand Palandger, you’re just a three-minute walk away from the nearest slopes or two minutes away from a bus stop that can take you to other nearby ski spots. Your nearest supermarket is about five minutes away, making it easy to stock up on essentials, while Méribel centre is around a ten-minute walk away.
In town, you can explore Méribel’s quaint social scene with a lovely selection of local boutiques, cosy cafes and delicious restaurants serving up quintessential mountain meals.

The Resort
Méribel is a village with a true alpine heart. You won’t find blocks of hotels and purpose-built facilities here. Instead, the compact and lively town centre is picture-postcard perfect, and its atmosphere is quaint and fairytale-like. It is without a doubt the most romantic resort in the area and if you’re planning a couples holiday in the snow you’ll definitely want to take a closer look at Méribel.
At the centre of the world famous Trois Vallées (Three Valleys), Méribel makes up part of the largest ski domain in the world. Across the valleys, it has six sister resorts. You can either get a single-resort lift pass and keep to the fantastic beginner and intermediate terrain there, but you also have the option of purchasing a pass that covers the whole area.
The advanced lift system at Méribel will let you maximise your time on the snow and make sure you’re not waiting around in queues. With 67 runs to try out just in the resort itself, there is no time to be wasted. Just beware of the afternoon sun cutting things short on the west-facing slopes and prepare to get up with the sun if you’re after untouched powder. At it’s highest skiing point Méribel reaches an altitude of 2952 metres and the descent from this point is known to be one of the most scenic runs around.
Aside from the world-class skiing, Méribel is also known to be one of the liveliest resorts in the Three Valleys. Many of its residents and bar-owners (as well as plenty of its visitors) are expat-Brits who certainly know how to party. The après-ski scene here is truly top-notch!

With DVD players connected to the TV, kids can also bring their favourite movies and series along to keep themselves entertained during downtime.
If your kids prefer their personal devices, you’ll be relieved to hear that Le Grand Palandger has excellent wireless internet throughout the chalet allowing kids to connect and surf the web with ease. Whether they prefer to watch their favourite YouTubers or play games online with friends, Le Grand Palandger makes it super easy to stay connected.
Beyond Le Grand Palandger, kids are sure to be well looked after during their visit to Méribel. As one of the more laid-back resorts in the French Alps, Méribel is quite popular with families looking to ease their kids into winter sports. Little ones and newcomers to the sport can find their bearings at the resort’s on-site ski school, with trained professionals who’ll help your little ones to find their ski legs in no time.
With no practice needed, you’ll also find a few slopes that are dedicated to sledging rather than skiing. So, if your kids fancy a change for an hour or two - let them loose on the slopes with nothing but a sledge and their own courage.

Fantastic stay
The best chalet we have had! Great location near to slopes, a walk from town and round the corner from Le Petit Oignons! Fantastic living space and amazing views. A very special place.
