Enjoying a quiet setting within the Quinta do Peru golf course and surrounded by pine trees, Villa Celia is a bright and spacious holiday home that’s ideal for families with children.

There’s plenty of space inside and out at Villa Celia, giving everyone the opportunity to find their own special corner. With a neutral décor and natural wood furnishings, this is a relaxing place to retreat to after exploring this beautiful area of the Portuguese countryside.

The villa’s accommodation is set over two floors, with the majority of the rooms on the ground floor. On this floor is an open-plan living and dining space. The living area features enough comfortable seating for everyone to get together and watch a film in the evenings. Sharing this space is a small table and chairs that’s ideal for enjoying a pre-dinner drink. Patio doors open out onto terraces and extended garden space.

A couple of steps take you into the dining area with an elegant table and chairs that seats up to six people. The modern kitchen is fully-equipped with facilities and conveniences that make cooking meals quick and easy. Also on this floor is one bedroom with double bed and a family bathroom.

There’s also a duplex bedroom with a double sofa bed. Stairs take you up to a mezzanine-level bedroom with three single beds.

On the first floor are a further two bedrooms with a double bed each. One has a bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath and the other enjoys terrace access.

The terrace is home to outdoor dining furniture and a barbecue, making it the ideal place for enjoying alfresco meals. There’s also a table tennis table and bikes available. The private swimming pool is surrounded by lawns and a selection of sun loungers.

Being within the Quinta do Peru golf course, Villa Celia is perfectly located for the golfers of the family. A range of cafés and restaurants are also just a short distance away.

The charming village of Azeitão is just 10 minutes away from the villa by car. It’s surrounded by sprawling vineyards and olive groves and is at the heart of Portugal’s wine-producing region.

As such, it’s most famous for its wines, particularly Moscatel. You can go on guided tours of wine estates, with the museum and vineyard of Quinta da Bacalhôa being well worth a visit.

During the tour you’re treated to samples, information on wine-making and stunning art collections and exhibitions. You can also see examples of local Azulejo tiles.

Just a couple of minutes outside of the village is the majestic Arrábida Natural Park. This protected pine-covered area is home to many rare plant species and as you follow paths through the park you’ll come across a beautiful 16th-century monastery and several chapels. Head down to the beach below for crystal clear and calm waters that are ideal for snorkelling and swimming.

The city of Setúbal is around a 30 minute drive east of the villa. A port city with a rich fishing heritage, there’s something for everyone here. For the culture lovers, there are a range of attractions to visit within the city’s historical centre.

The Museu de Arqueologia is one of the most fascinating places to discover Setúbal’s history through a range of artefacts. There’s also a pretty harbour for watching boats coming and going over a delicious lunch at a traditional restaurant. Being close to the Sado estuary means you can take a dolphin watching tour to spot the pod of mammals that live in the area

THE REGION

Set on a curving turquoise bay just 40 km south of Lisbon, Sesimbra is both an attractive fishing town and a popular tourist resort within easy reach of the capital. Sesimbra is one of the finest beach resorts in Portugal. It is adored by the Portuguese who flock to the region for their holidays, drawn by the pristine beached, relaxed atmosphere and outstanding seafood restaurants.

Near Sesimbra, there are the beaches of the Arrábida Natural Park, which are considered among the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. The most famous one is Praia do Figueirinha, a long sandy shore kissed by calm and crystalline waters.

The outstanding beaches and tourist attractions make Sesimbra an enjoyable family holiday. Around the region, there is much to visit, like Cabo Espichel headland or a scenic drive through the Arrabida hills and a visit to the paradise beaches of the Portinho de Arrabida.

Ideal for families with children of all ages, Villa Celia offers flexible sleeping options to meet a variety of needs. The open-plan living area is a great place for cosy evenings in.

Everyone will love the swimming pool and the gardens for kicking a ball about or for simply chilling out. Enjoy some healthy competition with the table tennis table or get on the bikes provided for great days out.

Around 10 minutes away by car is Kids Planet indoor play centre in Coina. Ideal for young children right up to those of teenage age, features include a ball pool, area for riding toy bikes and a bouncy castle.

Outside is a football field for burning off extra energy. The café offers a good selection of drinks and snacks and provides a place to relax while the children play.

Security deposit €400 charged to client’s credit card before arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.

End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or garbage disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.

    We stayed for a week's holiday with the family. Cosy, practical, safe, secure and secluded environment. Great for resting in a country environment. The facilities are very good, large and sanitized spaces. Comfortable and spacious rooms. Good housekeeping. Excellent for children, with several games and a small playground with swing and slide. Beautiful garden with all necessary equipment, well maintained pool of good proportions. Fully fitted kitchen. Large open plan living room. Good WI-FI access. Possibility of walking and cycling in a quiet environment. Good parking space. Fulfills all that is described. We take away good memories of this experience. It was worthwhile. We recommend and plan to return.

    Large and lovely villa located in a safe and quiet area. We particularly enjoyed the table tennis facility and the pool. However the table is not in the best condition. IOverall it was very clean inside and had most of the facilities mentioned. We were disappointed that there was no washing machine liquid to wash our clothes as I was told we would have some available. The dining and living room areas are very good. Did not like the early check out but that was known before booking but if you need more time then perhaps look to another place. I liked the area of the villa and there is security as the villa is located on private roads.

    We spent two weeks in august, super high season in this part of the world, therefore prices are not cheap :-) But what we got was beyond our expectations. Fantastic house full of space and with a great pool, in a fantastic complex full of green and a nice golf course. We do not play golf but loved the place. It is so easy to reach the many beauties of the area, including beaches, natural parks and touristic sites. Everything went so well, the caretaker of the house is great and so kind and the booking went so smooth. A real great example of great service. We will definitely use again and we recommend to anyone.
