Overview
Casa Aliciana is a gorgeous, newly renovated villa set in a beautifully landscaped garden within a short distance of the Blue Flag Ancao Beach. The villa is situated roughly halfway between Faro and Quarteira. It is within the ‘Golden Triangle’, an affluent area containing the Algarve’s most upmarket resorts of Vale do Lobo, Vale do Garrao and Quinta do Lago. The area boasts amazing, stunning beaches, a fabulous dining scene and much entertainment.
The modern Casa Aliciana boasts four excellent bedrooms, three of which are on the ground floor, and is ideal for a large family, an extended family or a group of friends. The renovation is superb with a wonderful open-plan design and excellent bathrooms and decor. There is Wi-Fi and TV in every room. The entrance to the villa leads to a utility room and one of the twin bedrooms and then onto the spacious living, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen is very modern. The living area boasts a Sonos sound system for your enjoyment. There are two further bedrooms downstairs. One has a double bed and opens onto the garden, and the other has twin beds and opens onto the front terrace. The beds in the twin bedrooms are next to each other.
The gorgeous master bedroom suite is upstairs and enjoys a double bed, an excellent en-suite shower room and a private terrace overlooking the stunning garden and with access to the upper roof terrace. The bathrooms are superior and very modern following the renovation.
The outside area of Casa Aliciana is fabulous. The terrace is sleek and modern, as is the green-tiled 7m x 3m swimming pool. The sunbathing terrace is decked with sun loungers and parasols. The manicured, tropical gardens are stunning with mature palms and excellent planting and lawns. There is a Beefeater barbecue for alfresco dining. You will be delighted when you walk out into the garden at Casa Aliciana!
What you should know…
- The San Lorenzo Golf Course and the other local courses are very popular so you should book any rounds you want in advance
- The sea water in the Algarve can be quite chilly. If you have children wanting to learn some watersports, you could head to the calm, saltwater lake at Quinta do Lago
- Tavira, at the far end of the Ria Formosa, is gorgeous. You should visit and also take a ferry to some of the tiny islands

About the surrounding area of Casa AlicianaAncoa Beach is on the edge of the stunning Ria Formosa Nature Park. It is an astounding beach, backed by pristine sand dunes and offering a good range of watersports as well as sun loungers and parasols and a few dining options. The Ria Formosa Nature Park’s network of barrier islands and inlets can be explored by taking one of the ferry-boats from Faro, Olhao, Fuseta and Tavira. You can visit the gorgeous beaches of Barreta, Culatra, Armona and Ilha Tavira.
The atmospheric Portuguese market town of Loule is famed for its Arabic inspired market brimming with regional handicraft stalls, colourful local produce and freshly caught fish. Loule boasts beautiful, tree-lined plazas and narrow alleyways, barely altered since the Medieval times. The Gothic Igreja Matriz Church is a must-visit! Quinta da Tor is an excellent winery close to Loule where you can taste some amazing authentic Algarvian wines together with delicious olive oil and bread.
Faro Old Town is beautiful. You enter the Old Town through the 11th century Arab gateway Arco da Vila. The atmospheric warren of cobbled streets boasts many wonderful buildings including the Municipal Museum at the magnificent, 16th century Convent of Nossa Senhora da Assuncao. The Manuel Bivar Gardens are stunning and offer astonishing views of the marina, the Ria Formosa and the turquoise sea.
The Golden Triangle and Vilamoura are known for their excellent, world-class golf facilities. The San Lorenzo Golf Course, the Quinta do Lago championship courses and the Vale do Lobo Ocean Golf Course are extremely close by. The Victoria, Pinhal, Old Course, Millenium and Laguna courses of Vilamoura are famous. Vilamoura isn’t just famous for the golf though, the nightlife is glitzy and glamorous. The alluring marina, brimming with luxury yachts and chic, gastronomic restaurants, and the renowned Vilamoura casino are popular hotspots.
The charming village of Almancil and the neighbouring village of Sao Lourenco are lovely. Almancil is famous for its local pottery. The Sao Lourenco Church is decorated with characteristic blue tiles dating back to 1730 which tell the life story of its patron saint. It is one of the most attractive churches in the Algarve.

Best Suited For: All AgesCasa Aliciana is ideal for a family holiday. Children will be delighted with the activities and entertainment on offer in the area. The beaches are breathtaking and excellent for watersports. The Quinta do Lago lagoon is also brilliant. There is waterside dining and aquatic adventures with Artur’s Watersports Academy. They offer sailing lessons, pedalos, kayaks and an amusing water obstacle course. Algarve Xcite Watersports at the Vilamoura Marina offer parasailing, dolphin tours, fishing trips and jet ski adventures. You can also take boat tours to explore the amazing caves along the coastline.
Pinetrees Riding Stables offer tuition for riders from 4 years old in the pine forests, beside the salt flats, on the beaches and also through the Ludo Valley’s orange groves. What an amazing holiday memory would that be!
The thrilling Aquashow Waterpark at Quarteira boasts the biggest water coaster in Europe as well as many other exciting slides, rollercoasters and performances. Aqualand and Slide & Splash are the two other waterparks within easy reach. Slide & Splash thrills its visitors with fascinating birds of prey, reptiles and macaws presentations as well as its fabulous water adventures. One of the favourite rides is the 4-man Big Wave ride.
Almancil Karting has a good range of go-karts for children of all ages. There is a small track for 3-5 year olds, 120cc karts for children aged 6 and over and more powerful karts for older children and adults. Parents can take younger children in 2 seater karts.
Zoomarine Algarve is an excellent excursion for the family. It is fun and informative. You will learn about the animal’s habitats and ecosystems and enjoy the aquatic rides and attractions. There are exciting and interesting presentations with dolphins, tropical birds and birds of prey and you can interact with the dolphins at Dolphin Emotions.
