THE REGION
Situated some 7 km inland from the magnificent coastline for which this municipality of the Algarve is renowned, the small city of Lagoa has a rural feel that contrasts significantly with the cosmopolitan atmosphere of its popular seaside resorts.
The idyllic town is charmingly traditional and only a short distance from the popular Portimão. As well as being close to some of the best beach resorts in the region and the historic town of Silves, Lagoa holidays have ample charms of their own.
Inserted in a traditionally agricultural and important wine-producing area, Lagoa lies on a small hill rising above flatlands that allegedly once held the lagoon that gave the city its name.

One of the most popular attractions within this region is Slide and Splash, an incredibly diverse and exciting water park. During their time at this attraction, guests will be inundated with things to do, including a range of thrilling water slides. Guests must also take a dip in the amazing disco river, a unique wave pool that is decorated with bright LED lights and catchy pop tunes. Once you have explored every aspect of this water park, guests can end the day by enjoying a prosperous bird of prey show. Slide and Splash is based just over 5 minutes away from the centre of the region.
If you wish to uncover more about this region’s rich religious history, Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Luz is a key landmark to explore. Translated as the Church of Our Lady of Light, this monument was first crafted in the 16th century. Despite its defining history throughout the years, the church was partially damaged due to a destructive earthquake that occurred in 1755. Fortunately, the church was rebuilt and managed to maintain a majority of its key features. Guests must travel inside this building and explore all of the ornate fixtures and artefacts on show. Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Luz is based around 5 minutes away from the centre of Lagoa.
This area is also well recognised for its remarkable and ever-growing food scene, giving guests a chance to enjoy a plethora of nuanced cuisines during their time in this region. Chrissy’s is a firm favourite amongst tourists and locals due to its impressive menu and amicable atmosphere. This restaurant presents an array of authentic Portuguese dishes, such as freshly caught prawns served in a zesty sauce, as well as expertly prepared sea bass with a nourishing portion of spinach. There is also a collection of delectable desserts on offer, like an indulgent chocolate fondant and a trio of refreshing sorbets. Chrissy’s can be found just a short walk away from the centre of Lagoa and is open Monday-Saturday from 12 pm till 10 pm.

We enjoyed it tremendously!
The house is very good: super spacious, everything equipped, large kitchen, good air conditioning and nice terrace.
The location is great: almost next to the famous praia Marinha and with the enormous luxury of a private parking.
The domain is nice and very well maintained: and a lovely swimming pool with your own private sunbeds, lovely! Although there was quite a lot of people with quite a few children, the atmosphere remains a pleasant one without too much noise. The communication went super smoothly and small issues were resolved immediately.
The only downside we found the noise of the many traffic around the house: beachgoers are looking for parking spots all day (which are far too few) and there are a lot of cars coming in the driveway of the domain and driving off from 10am to 6pm and off and on a bit of hustle and bustle but again then the private parking spot and walking to the beach feels like a huge luxury. Thanks for a great stay, we enjoyed it tremendously. -
From the moment we arrived we felt at home!
From the moment we arrived we felt at home. Such beautiful, quiet, peaceful place. Not the place to take lots of kids as people just wanting quiet time here. Hardly heard anything from anyone else staying in neighbouring apartments. Pool such a peaceful retreat.

We definitely recommend this location!!
A wonderful location, within walking distance of the beautiful beach praia de marinha. The pool was super clean and a beautifully maintained garden around it. It was almost always quiet at the pool, at most one other family. From the upstairs bedroom you can enjoy a beautiful view of the garden, the pool and the sea. The contact with the villa manager was great, when there was a misunderstanding around the air conditioning, this was resolved within a short time in a very pleasant way. We definitely recommend this location!!

Amazing stay!
Nice and large apartment with fantastic yard and great pool. Very easy private parking (which felt very luxurious as many visitors to the beach were struggling to find parking places). Very near to Praia da Marinha, easily walkable in a few minutes.

I and 4 other guests had a great stay at the accommodation, it is very spacious with modern equipment. the host was very friendly and responded to sort out problems very quickly. it was great that there was a supermarket close by to buy food and equipment provided in the kitchen to cook.

Best break ever!
We had an amazing break staying here. The apartment was large, and really well laid out. The location was exceptional, literally 5 minute walk to the most beautiful beach and breath-taking cliff walks. We will defiantly look to book here again next time we come. Matthij and his team could not have been more helpful. Thankyou for the best break we could have had.

We had great days in the house with friends and our little daughter. The house is super equipped and clean. Pool and garden are beautiful and well maintained. Probably the most beautiful beach in the Algarve is within walking distance. Communication went well and was easy. 5 stars from us!!!

What a wonderful place!
What a wonderful place! Clean, spacious, well-equipped, and wonderfully decorated. The location is fantastic, a few minutes walk to the most wonderful Marinha beach. We stayed there for 7 nights and covered Algarve. This proved to be quite a central location and nothing was too far, with a car. My kids didn’t want to leave! Matthijs, Yannick, and Ritchie are very helpful and responsive. Nothing was too much trouble. If we ever go back to Algrave, we will be looking to book this place again.

Superb location
Superb location, ideal location for walking to the magnificent Marinha beach and the great o’rustico restaurant. Very quick access also to many villages and other magnificent beaches. Ideal place to visit the Algarve. The residence is also very beautiful and very well maintained. The swimming pool is perfect with a great paddling pool. The rental is large with a beautiful terrace which is lucky to have shade at several times of the day. We rented for 15 days and we had the pleasure of having a mid-rental cleaning at the end of the first week. We sincerely recommend this rental and the team.

We would definitely come again!
We had a wonderful time staying in the property, the house was so lovely, comfortable and clean. It had everything we needed and so close to the beach. Matthijs and Yannick were so helpful with anything we needed, and even helped us with our airport transfer. Nothing was too much trouble. We would however recommend hiring a car if you stay here, it was a little far out and so we spent a lot of money on ubers which were hard to get because of the busy season. But if you don’t need to go anywhere it is the most wonderful location. Thank you for our stay.

Best location
Beautiful and spacious house, very well equipped, especially the kitchen! Also great outdoor area, with a large terrace and a shared garden and pool (yet it felt private since we were mostly the only ones around). Toddler-friendly with babycrib, chair and a little gate to separate the terrace safely from garden/pool area. Best location, one of the closest houses to Marinha Beach. we enjoyed our stay, would recommend for both, families and friends!
