This wow factor, one-storey, luxury residence, is on the second floor of a previous palace, with breathtaking Venetian views and a nearby water taxi jetty to whisk you to wherever you want to go.

The apartment has three ensuite double bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate up to six guests, ideal for sharing with a family or group of friends. This unique architect designed apartment has the most exquisite interiors, which include tall bronze windows that let in lots of natural light, dazzling terrazzo marble floors, smooth marmorino plaster walls, gracious ceiling mouldings, and an iconic selection of mid-twentieth century carefully curated Italian furniture, from the most famous and fashionable craftsmen.

Enter the apartment through the formal foyer, which opens onto the gothic windowed reading room with a serene view over the canal. This leads into the elegant main salon, with views of the Grand Canal and Accademia Bridge. The salon is furnished with a collection of contemporary pieces by Ponti, Albini, Dominioni, Paris, Arte, Gambone, and Fantoni, to name a few. The adjacent Peggy Salon is a stylish dining room inspired by the Guggenheim Museum, which you can see out of the windows, and can cater for up to fourteen guests. The fitted galley kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cater for your stay, including a Gaggenau oven and hob, a maxi-size fridge freezer with an ice dispenser, and of course, an Alessi kettle. A marble guest cloakroom completes the living space.

At the opposite end of the apartment is the Master Bedroom, with a king-size bed, Frette linens, and floor-to-ceiling doors that open onto a Grand Canal furnished terrace. The ensuite sage green bathroom is home to a large bathtub hewn from one slab of marble, a double walk-in shower, a double hand basin, and complimentary Aesop amenities. The second bedroom or Loft Suite has a modern king-size, wrought iron, four-poster bed with twin mattresses and views over the courtyard and Grand Canal. There is a shared adjacent marble bathroom with a single rain shower and hand basin.

The third bedroom is a twin room with two single beds, which can be made into a double, a handy workspace with an Apple TV, and an ensuite opulent floor-to-ceiling marble bathroom with a double shower and single basin. If you love art, if you love style, and want to live like an Italian, they you’ll love staying at the Apartment Giglio.

Apartment Giglio is perfectly positioned on the Grand Canal, in the heart of Venice, with views of the Accademia, Peggy Guggenheim’s Palazzo, and the iconic azure blue lagoon. The property has a nearby water taxi boat jetty, perfect for picking you up for a day’s sightseeing and dropping you off after an evening out. The international Marco Polo airport is a thirty-minute private water taxi journey away or seventy-five minutes by the public vaporetto.

The apartment is ideally located within walking distance of most of the major sights of Venice. One of the joys of a holiday here is walking over many of the four hundred bridges and some of one hundred and eighteen canals, as the architecture reveals the city’s colourful history. Take a trip down the Grand Canal to the impressive St Mark’s Square and the eleventh-century Basilica, where mass is still held today. Visit the Byzantine Doge’s Palace, climb the clocktower, and cross the Bridge of Sighs. On the other side of the square is the Correr Museum, highlighting the history of Venice in its royal rooms and library. Take time out to stroll around the square, and window shop in the jewellery stores, before sitting down for tea in Florian’s whilst the orchestra plays your favourite tunes. Cross the nearby bridge to the Napoleonic Accademia Gallery to view classical Venetian art and the seventeenth-century Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute, with its iconic cupola and twelve paintings by Titian.

Make time to visit the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, a homage to twentieth-century modern art housed in her original palazzo home. Take a three-island tour to see the glassblowers at work on Murano, the colourful houses and lacemakers on Burano, and the seventh-century cathedral on Torcello, with its Byzantine art. Cross the sea to the Lido, famous for its grand hotels and long sandy beaches, and for those who like to chance their luck, there’s a casino too. Venice is a food lovers paradise. Sample the local dish of Baccala Mantecato, a salted cod dish best served with a glass of chilled white wine.

A walk to St Mark’s Square will take you through back streets selling the very best quality hand-crafted leather goods, silk scarves, and cashmere sweaters, not to mention the designer dress shops with brand labels you’ll want to buy. For the romantics, get into a gondola and cruise the canals, or simply take one to cross the water from one side to the other. In the evening, enjoy a stroll to Harry’s Bar for a Bellini before a night at the opera at the Fenice Theatre, then dine in a local restaurant, serving traditional Venetian dishes overlooking the Grand Canal under a Tiepolo blue sky. If you are lucky enough to be there during the Carnival, make sure you wear a mysterious mask and join in the fun and frolics of this fabulous festival.

A vacation in Venice is magical for children of all ages. This beautiful apartment is situated in the heart of the city, with most of the major sights within walking distance.

Kids love a ride down the Grand Canal on the local vaporetto water bus, climb aboard for a cruise down the main waterway of Venice and see the history in the magnificent palaces that line the route. Get off at St Mark’s Square, and visit the Doge’s Palace, where they can’t fail to be impressed by the Golden Staircase to the fourteenth-century Great Hall and the twenty-two-metre painting by Titian. Cross the Bridge of Sighs and explore the dark dungeons where the Dukes had their prisons. Play a game of Hunt the Winged Lion, the symbol of the city, and to be found on buildings all over Venice.

Go for a gondola ride, and get off at Zattere, where they can enjoy an ice cream at the famous Gelateria Nico. Take a picnic at the Giardini Pubblica, where there is a children’s playground and a grotto. Shop for masks for carnival time, or your kids can make their own at Ca’ Macaria. Cross the sea to the Lido, famous for its sandy beaches, where they can build castles and swim in the sea even out of season.

Go out of town to Villa Pisani, and travel down the Brenta Canal that connects Venice to Padua, where they can lose themselves in the amazing maze and the double staircase to the top of the tower.
