Overview
Nestled in the hill of Vicchio sits Manor di Falco, a grand villa that was once a country home and hunting lodge built by the Nobel Bartoli family. This an elegant and grandeur home away from home dates back to the 15th century, and it has maintained its charm and character.
As you enter this home you feel as though you are stepping back in time, into the heart of the Italian Renaissance. Beautiful artwork and sculptures embellish the rooms, chandeliers hang from the ceiling and ornate mirrors reflect this stunning villa.
Accommodating up to 32 guests in 11 bedrooms, this villa is the perfect getaway for a large group or family. Each room is more unique as the next with luxurious beds, bright blooms and mod cons like flat-screen televisions. It’s the perfect place to seek a little privacy and solitude.
Arguably the fanciest part of the home are the bathrooms, with large tubs, brass taps and marble tiling - imagine relaxing in the bath with a local red in hand. Sounds like a blissful retreat. Of course, if relaxation is what you are after visit the villa’s sunroom or sauna.
There are a few living spaces to unwind in: take a seat in the living room and catch up with others on the day's events or head to the television room for a film night.
The outdoor area of this home has stunning views over the rolling mountains and the lush 400 year-old cedar trees that line the garden. Guests can top up their tan on the sun-loungers that surround the pool, or take a dip instead.
This villa sits in the Vicchio hills in the Mugello valley, a spot that is known for its natural beauty and diverse landscape. Vicchio is just a short drive away (8km), where you can find restaurants, bars and a train station.

Location
About the surrounding area of Manor di FalcoManor di Falco is located in the Vicchio hills in the historic region and valley of Mugello. This spot in Northern Tuscany boasts lush greenery and parts of the Sieve river. It has stunning natural beauty because of its diverse landscape, whether you look out to rolling hills, sunflower fields or dramatic mountains. It’s an outdoor sport paradise, with mountain biking, rafting, horse riding and boating opportunities aplenty. There’s also plenty to tantalise your tastebuds, from truffles and mushrooms to cheese and prosciutto from wild game. Here you will find authentic restaurants, supermarkets and shops.
Chianti is another spot to explore, especially if you are a wine lover (43km). This region is renowned for its wines, most of which are dry and medium-bodied. There is more to the Chianti, which offers a unique landscape with gentle hills, olive groves, small stones villages, and vineyards (of course). It’s a postcard-perfect spot.
The villa is just over an hour’s drive to Florence/Firenze (46km), a spot that is well worth a visit. As the capital city of Tuscany, it’s flocking with tourists admiring the Renaissance art masterpieces and architecture, including the Duomo Cathedral, Michelangelo’s David sculpture and Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus. Alleyways are filled with authentic Italian cuisine, including plenty of gelato. As this centre of Italian Renaissance, it’s a must-visit.
The villa is also near other spots that are well worth the drive, including San Gimingnano (112km) Pisa (130km), and Siena (131km).

The valley of Mugello is ideal for outdoor-lovers, with hills, mountains and a river to explore: head to the rapids with white water rafting, hike up the hills or take to the mountains on two wheels. The villa can also organise horse trekking in the surrounding countryside, which is perfect for the whole family.
Florence has plenty to offer families, and not just the museums and cathedrals which are a stunning site. Have a picnic in the Bobili Gardens, ride the antique carousel at Piazza della Repubblica and stop for tasty gelato in the lanes - did you know gelato was invented in Florence (apparently)?
